A contract is just a legal agreement between two parties. There's nothing magical about it. If the players want fully guaranteed contracts, then they need to demand it in the next round of CBA negotiations.
Here's the deal: The Texans could cut his contract, but because of the terms, they'd still owe him $111 million. That's the guarantee his agent negotiated.
This franchise was dysfunctional long before September 2020. We have almost two decades of Houston Texans history well documented on this forum.
He not only signed a long term - and very lucrative - deal with this dysfunctional organization, but he got emotional about it and thanked everyone that he seems to be upset with 4 months later.

rd of league revenue is ticket sales. That information came out during the 2020 pandemic season. This does not take into account merchandising and concession sales (which are 100% funded by. . .fans).
