The Jaguars just crawled out last season with 9 wins. The Titans and Colts have been there too, especially when the Texans were winning the division. This division is not weak all because of the Texans. It's certainly a substandard division. And the Texans are trying to crawl out of the cellar. Not being the dregs of the dregs would be a big improvement, no?

Hey aren’t we playing in the weakest division in football? Do we not have the weakest schedule?
The Great Kevin Garnett screamed “ Anything is Possible “, after winning the NBA championship. So I’m inclined to believe literally anything is possible. Go ask the Bengals.
One of the reasons the AFC South is considered the weakest division in football is due to the Texans being in the division. Try to keep that in mind.
Since they went to the current alignment, there have been few years where the AFCS was not one of the weaker divisionsPrior to the OB/Watson/Easterby implosion we were the AFC South favorites for several years. The Jags were the worst for most of that period and up until last year.

Well, 3 teams in the division were picking in the top 11. That's the definition of the weakest division in the NFL.One of the reasons the AFC South is considered the weakest division in football is due to the Texans being in the division. Try to keep that in mind.

Don't know how I feel about my QB's leadership being compared to a guy I don't believe to be much of a leader.

We can all see he's talented enough. How many huddles/locker rooms have you been in with Prescott?
I assume it is a decent amount.
We can all see he's talented enough.

He hasn't won a Super Bowl. Hasn't been close. Two guys who haven't won a Super Bowl, haven't been close, say he's a great leader.

That's fine & a good way to look at it. You do you.So only winners can be leaders?
I think the guys who have been in the locker rooms and on the field with these guys have a good idea of who is a leader and who isn't. Certainly a better idea than some fan.

How would you know drivel when you're head is buried in a spreadsheet?LOL! You've got a poor little problem with that? And yet the drivel champion of the world spews his garbage all day long, every day, in every thread, and that's not a problem? What a ******* joke.
Quoted for truth.Don't stop posting buddy.. You're a quality poster and a welcomed addition to this board.. nothing like the Clemson fans who joined after we drafted Deshaun Watson. I look forward to reading your comments once the season gets rolling.. if you stick around that is. Can't make everyone happy
I was told his pestering posts where my fault and I should not engage him, so I no longer do. However, I still see a bazillion posts chock full of his tears daily when others choose to engage him. This entire message board should just be named after him.
And on the other side of the spectrum, we have Buckeye Homer who actually contributes worthwhile things to these pages and he gets potentially run off.
This would be a 1st.I think Caserio finally has a coach who he can agree with and ownership is staying out of the way. How much did the scouting department change?
So only 1 guy wins a team of 53 a Super Bowl?We can all see he's talented enough.
We can all see he's athletic enough.

If that's the way you want to read it.So only 1 guy wins a team of 53 a Super Bowl?
That's a bit altruistic. I guess Dan Marino & Jim Kelly weren't great leaders eitherIf that's the way you want to read it.
I'm not in the huddle as been pointed out. But I don't see a great leader in a guy who can't get close to a Super Bowl regardless how talented the team he's leading.

Your comment was that he hadn't won a Super BowlReading comprehension.
One guy can't get close your examples have been in Super Bowls. One guy 4 times back to back.
It means you dont want him leading the team you root for.All because a player didn’t perform well in the playoffs, doesn’t mean they’re not a good leader.
Really? It's there for all to see. The post you quoted when you mentioned Marino & KellyYour comment was that he hadn't won a Super Bowl

Yes, unless you like people who aren't good enough to win big to be your leaders. So does Dak lack intestinal fortitude, or is he just not talented enough to be a winner. I still LOL at him running until the clock ran out in the playoff game against the 49ers 2 yrs ago. Dumbazz, You can be lead by losers too and I guess that's good enough for some. I could see Stroud having a Dak type career. Hollow numbers and shrinks in big games.
Big difference between didn’t win it all every year & never came close even on very talented teams.Only one team wins every year, is there only one leader every year? Was Brady a worse leader in college? Or what about in the seasons he didn't win the Super Bowl, was he a bad leader in those years?
But how do you know it was poor leadership, if you weren’t there in the Locke room/in the huddle/in the sidelines?Big difference between didn’t win it all every year & never came close even on very talented teams.
Leadership is part of the equation for QB.
Hundreds of reasons why Dak lost a bunch of games. Poor leadership is part of the reason he never got past the Divisional round. Heck, he’s got problems getting to the playoffs in a division as bad as the AFCSouth

I like the aggressiveness, however he did trade a 4th for a 2024 3rd. so he did what you wanted. For me it's quality over quantity. I wish Caserio would've just drafted Anderson and held on to the picks in the deeper/better IMHO 2024 draft. But that's not what the meddlesome McNair's wanted and the rest is history.
Leadership. QB is an extension of that leadership.Coaching Matters
History is a checkerd path. You either have talent to acquire talent and put a team together and develop that talent or you don’t.
All factors considered I’m on the fence. NC is willing to shell out draft capital more than a top flight GM tends to do but now he’s got a coach to believe in he’s banking on DeMeco to carry him.
Could legitimately work out but if not, it’s going to turn out unfavorably for him. He will be the scapegoat not DeMeco and not Stroud/Anderson.
You've never had to meet a payroll? If you have them you know there are winners and losers. It doesn't matter how great of a leader you are if you're a loser. You're business gets shutdown. Successful people are generally the best leaders.Being a leader is different than being a talented player. There are plenty of talented people who can't lead, and plenty of leaders who don't have the same amount of talent as the people they are leading. It takes a team to win, whether it is in business or on the field.
I just don't see the point in ascribing a team's success to a single player. Nor do I think winner = leader and loser = not a leader. Only one team wins every year, is there only one leader every year? Was Brady a worse leader in college? Or what about in the seasons he didn't win the Super Bowl, was he a bad leader in those years? Was JJ Watt never a leader? DeMeco Ryans?
This is a ridiculous comparison. I know you're a small business owner, but this is apples to oranges. Being a successful leader on a football field is more analogous to a military leader, hence the term field general. Successful people usually surround themselves with the best talent. Good leaders do the same thing. Not "yes men" but people who will challenge them. Ironically, 1 in 5 of successful businessmen are sociopaths/psychopaths who will do anything to succeed. Are you a sociopath/psychopath?You've never had to meet a payroll? If you have them you know there are winners and losers. It doesn't matter how great of a leader you are if you're a loser. Can't wait to see this post with Stroud. It will be everybody else's fault but his when he fails and if he has any measures of success it will be inspite of coaching. At least that's the way it was around these parts when Derrick and BOB were here. Everybody knows the McNair's and Ryans won't get the blame for the failures. So that only leaves Slowik to be the fall guy.Coaching Matters

I don't think anything of the sort. He's a QB for a team I don't like, nothing more. I just don't think team results hang on the leadership of one playerLeadership. QB is an extension of that leadership.
look, you may think Dak hung the moon. I don’t. Hell of a player, hell of a QB. I think he’d have won more if he were a better leader.
You think the problem is all around him. That’s fine. Your opinion & you’re entitled to it. I’m not going to beat you down about your opinion.
Neither of us will ever know the truth.
