VY is going to be a poor mans Vick. We all have seen how well Vick has done in the NFL when he has to pass. VY would be going from one of the best o-lines any QB could play behind to the worst group of misfits o-line, in comparison to their respective levels. Besides that, VY did nothing but zone-read his entire college career. I could probably count on one hand how many times VY went under center. Zone-read QBs don't translate well into the NFL, with my best example being Alex Smith. It took him playing the worst D in the league (krap...that was the Texans) to throw his first TD. Now, I think VY is twice the athlete Smith is, but i doubt VY will be a good "QB."
Sir, please step away from the QB analogies. You might injure yourself.

A while back you compared VY to Akili Smith, then you backed off of that, and today as a poor man's Vick???
??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think a case can be made that VY cannot be compared properly to any QB college prospect, and certainly, there is nothing to suggest that he will be a poor man's Vick based on either your eyes or just plain ole stats:
Vince Young (last college season), Drafted ???? 6 5 230 lbs
3036 passing yards
65.2 completion percentage
325 attempts for 212 completions, 9.3 av yards per attempt
26 passing TDs with 10 INTs
155 rushes for 1050 yards, 6.8 av yards per attempt, 12 rushing TDs
Mike Vick (last college season), Drafted 1st, 60, 214 lbs
1439 passing yards
54.19 completion percentage
179 attempts for 97 completions, 8.0 av yards per attempt
9 passing TDs with 7 INTs
113 rushes for 636 yards, 5.6 av yards per attempt, 9 rushing TDs
The stats are not similar and their physical size is dissimilar. They are both QBs and both have more melanin than some, but I guess the only way he can be a "Poor Man's Vick" is that he has less money than him.
You know, reasonable people can disagree with whatever the choice for the #1 pick is, and all choices have their pros and cons, but there is no need to get outrageous in what you say about the situation.
(Just as an aside, I wonder what happened to all those people who said VY was going to struggle in 2005 because his experienced receiver corp went away and was replaced with new guys.....shhhhh....that doesn't support the silly VY is bad argument so it can't be expressed out loud).
