Does anyone still think he has a chance to win heisman and do you think hell still be the # 1 player taken in the draft?

I love Jamarcus but he isn't even close to vince when it comes to running ability. In fact, in the three years i've watched him play the longest gain he has running maybe 15 yards. However, he has made great strides in his QB play since last year and has really impressed me. He is making better decisions with the ball which was the one thing missing. He might be the most gifted QB in the nation and finally starting to show it, if only Jimbo would let him air it out some more.YoungTexanFan said:Quinn would not have won the Heisman anyways, but won't for sure now. I also dislike ND and their hype. Troy Smith won't win either, he will split his votes with teammate Ginn Jr.
Peterson will win it with some competition from Slayton.
On a side note, I like JaMarcus Russle as a draft and sit a year or two QB. He is out of LSU at 6'6, 250lbs. He has the speed of Vince, but is MUCH more developed as a QB and passer. He doesn't quite have Vince's vision when running, but has close to the same ability in that regard while embaressing Young with his arm. Russle has one of the best arms in all of football. Period. He can make every throw with touch and zip. He is the QB I want to draft.
He just shut you up. Nice throw. After seeing Quinn against Michigan and now Michigan State, please, PLEASE let's not take him.
I don't care if he puts up the best combine numbers in history. You don't want a QB who pisses his pants at the first signs of a competant defense.
He just shut you up. Nice throw.
Actually, I think that could end up helping Johnson. No one can say it was the QB that had the talent. As a Georgia Tech fan I will have to give my obligatory push for Calvin Johnson. The guy lit it up against Virginia last week and Virginia Tech this week. If he had anything of a formidable QB he would be putting up astronomical numbers.
With that being said, WR don't win Heismans so I am picking Adrian Peterson to take it home.
Calvin Johnson is the only offensive player I would be happy to draft in the first in '07. According to GaTech coaches his combine numbers will be historical and he has displayed the talent and demeanor on (and off) the field.
Total package.
I still want to draft a CB or LB in the first though.
johnson has good speed for his size, but there's nothing "historical" about it.
If you haven't seen Calvin Johnson play you really need to....IMHO, he will be THE best player in this draft and probably THE best player to come along in a while....He is a physical freak...and if the Texans are in position to draft him I will be upset regardless of need or what not....him opposite A.J...OMG.....that would be nuts...with Moulds mentoring...
HISTORIC. Not historical.

I thought we had those in last years draft.
Every year...the biggest, the best, the fastest, game changing players.
Not aimed specifically at you xtra.
every coach every year says every receiver runs a 4.3. i've seen him play, i've seen him run deep routes, i've seen run with the ball for huge YAC, and...he's not a 4.3. no way.Johnson is 6'5" 235lbs. His coaches say he will run a 4.3 '40 at the combine and put up a 47" vertical. If this happens, it is historical.

quinn is great, and matt jones was a more freakier athlete than calvin johnson.
didn't mean to offend you. he's a 4.4 guy. which is still freakish. just not "historical."You are nutz....
garbage? "garbage" players don't put up the kinda numbers quinn has in a pro-style offense. he's had a bad game, but it's hard to have a great game with consistent pressure all game long. but i could be wrong (no).Great??? Quin is garbage...."great" players don't play like Quin has this season....Great??? far from it...
is what Calvin going to do anything more impressive than say Vernon Davis, not really. there are a lot of guys that are physical freaks. CJ is very fast though, like AJ they don't look like they are flying but there strides cover like 4 yards.
And about Quinn....I wouldn't want Quinn even if Carr sucked and we were in position to draft him....He isn't that good...
you're acting like 4.4 isn't fast. he hasn't faced too many corners faster than him. except tye hill last year, who shut him down.He looks like he flies to me...

I disagree. Wies is impressed and very high on Quinn. Weis has the credentials.
Don't let your dislike of ND cloud your judgement.
I only hope the cowpatties don't get him, they've taken two Irish players in the draft the last two years. I am sure it is a Weis/Parcells connection.
Right now we don't need another QB. Another steal like DeMeco on the D would be nice.
