True. 2nd most in penalties eh? Interesting.Since you specifically asked. I was really upset about the illegal tackle on Mixon. It put him out for 3 games. Uncalled for and I know it's something they are trying to take from the game.
But there some distinctions.
First, this is a new rule, and it's super hard to enforce or decipher. Ref to ref, time to time. I think very few have been called because it's so nebulous. Hell, I've seen videos displayed with "experts" arguing both sides—it's a hip drop...next guy... no, it isn't. An obvious illegal and blatant forearm to the head is WAY easier to call.
Second, area of the body. A "hip" won't kill you. It won't paralyze you. It won't give you brain injuries. It won't give you CTE, a permanent condition. Juinor Seau didn't commit suicide because he had a bad hip. I mean truly...you don't know hits to the head are WAY worse of a toll on a human being than a hip in terms of his life outside of football?
Third, that guy is another team's issue, not ours. To put it a different way...I hold my family to a much higher standard than your family. Like I'm weird about my house. I keep it very clean. If you come over, you could eat off the floor. That is my standard for MY home. But it wouldn't bother me if I come to your home and it's messy and seems like it needs a good clean. That's YOUR issue...not mine. I want "my guys" to be the standard bearers, not the laggards when it comes to playing clean, solid football.
Lastly, I'll be honest and say I don't remember who the player was, nor do I know his history. Does he have a lot of history of illegal hits? If not, and he lacks history and knowing it's not a blow to the head...I'm going to give him more grace than a "headhunter" no matter which team. Berfect? Hated that guy. Total headhunter. He was always in trouble. We don't need "that guy" on this team. I don't think Azees if Berfect...yet. But he needs to nip it in the bud and not become Berfect.
In short, we need a well-coached, disciplined team that isn't 2nd most in penalties and likely gaining a poor reputation - basically asking for more scrutiny from the league and the refs, likely provoking even more flags. That's not a winning formula. Let's be above the fray, play clean, play hard, and play physical but not pushing the envelope and going after guy's heads. That's uncalled for and is why Azeez is paying the price he is.
Only problem i have with this is that no one else was suspended that one game. Then add another game for how how be behaved on the field after the foul. I would also strip this fool of his team captaincy.
I don’t care that it was a new rule, it was dirty and should’ve warranted a 2-3 game suspension period. And like I said why wasn’t you two, especially DJ flooding this forum about that hit? Yall two going on and on about Al and for what? We heard yall two loud and darn clear. The crap has reached that point of no return. Why because you two are on here belittling folks and crapping all over a player who plays for your team.Since you specifically asked. I was really upset about the illegal tackle on Mixon. AJ wasn’t suspended for beating the hell out of Finnegan. You were good with that right?Only problem i have with this is that no one else was suspended that one game.
It takes two to tango.
Your statement isn’t a denial.
They should have been suspended if they chose to do nothing. Seeing your QB take such a cheap shot, near your own sideline, and doing nothing, would require a suspension of the entire sideline.Only problem i have with this is that no one else was suspended that one game.

Exactly. Demeco wouldn’t stand for his team doing nothing if the situation was reversed. They should have been suspended if they chose to do nothing. Seeing your QB take such a cheap shot, near your own sideline, and doing nothing, would require a suspension of the entire sideline.

What’s crazy to me is you two are not trying to understand other people viewpoints. Even when we’ve posted ex-players who played this game on this level. Or coaches who coached on this level point of views. You two refutes it instead of saying, you know I can see why they’re saying what they’re saying.
And that type of hit has been allowed for decades on the quarterbacks too. It’s freaking football. So a sim)le hip drop tackle ..lWhich has been allowed for decades, deserves a two or three game suspension? What about lifting a guy off the ground and dumping him head first. What does that deserve?
And as I said, I’m ready to move on with grace for Azeez I’m allowed to have an opinion different from yours. I’ve explained my position 6 ways from Sunday. Feel free to disagree.
And that type of hit has been allowed for decades on the quarterbacks too. It’s freaking football.
I have not disrespected you or old buddy like yall been doing to others. So what was all that extra stuff for, since we’re saying this is my opinion.
You’ve also posted the same thing multiple times and it confirms you are upset about it the games he is suspended for. Not the actual reasoning behind 3 games.
It was a dirty hit. It’s been 6 days now and you are still looking for excuses.
Yet you still don’t talk about the hit itself. 6 days, no answer.^^^^ John McClain on UK podcast is NFL Insiders? McClain also talks about what a good guy Al-Shaair is
It’s true. Some just can’t admit it.A non answer is still an answer. It’s just not the answer you want. There’s a reason and a season for everything. At this point, time to let that sleeping dog lie.
As Willie Nelson once said, Still..is still moving to me.
As multiple former players have said, it was a borderline dirty hit and the suspension was excessive. Now it should be up to the Texans to show the Park Ave boys what dirty hits really look like.It was a dirty hit. It’s been 6 days now and you are still looking for excuses.
Agreed, until Sunday week and then it should be time to start changing the NFL landscape for the season. No need for them to talk about it.A non answer is still an answer. Could've been whatever these crooks want it to be.I apologize if this has been posted somewhere on the MB. Could have been four games rather than three.

Azeez Al-Shaair suspension: NFL weighed banning Texans LB for rest of regular season for Trevor Lawrence hit
Data shows QB slides have declined 50% over the past six seasonswww.cbssports.com
There’s nothing borderline. Either it’s a dirty hit or it’s not. The NFL determined it was a malicious hit. Deal with it.As multiple former players have said, it was a borderline dirty hit and the suspension was excessive. This is the difference between guys that have played football at the NFL levels opinion and a random MB fans opinion. There’s nothing borderline. Either it’s a dirty hit or it’s not. The NFL determined it was a malicious hit. Deal with it.
So why not post other NFL players responses who said it was dirty? Ex: Ryan Clark. This is the difference between guys that have played football at the NFL levels opinion and a random MB fans opinion.

No point just adding info rather than arguing.Could've been whatever these crooks want it to be.
What's your point?
I appreciate that you respect me as a person. I also respect you.I’m talking about posters on this forum. JB clearly doesn’t want to engage on this topic so let it be. And this vigilante mentality you keep pushing is just the kind of opinion I cannot respect. I respect you as a person and longtime member here, but that’s over the line…and thankfully the team is smarter than these dystopian fantasies you engage in.

McClain is a Brit now ? Well I'll be damned !^^^^ John McClain on UK podcast is NFL Insiders? McClain also talks about what a good guy Al-Shaair is
He'll run his mouth anywhere... did I mention that first and foremost he's a Titan fan? Jon Runyan is his heroMcClain is a Brit now ? Well I'll be damned !
Fck that ghetto trash! As usual. This is Watson's fault. A bye week and Watson out for the season. Some posters got to have something to gnaw and paw at. I call it the "lion with a pork chop" syndrome.
For a diversion, I think I will bump those Watson threads
McClain is not one of us ? I'm shocked !He'll run his mouth anywhere... did I mention that first and foremost he's a Titan fan? Jon Runyan is his hero

Shannon Sharp has spent too much time with Steven A Smith... he's trying to emulate him now
Jaguars defensive back Jarrian Jones was ejected for throwing a punch. Yet after such a huge fight, no one except Engram was fined. Someone will need to explain this to me.
There were incidents in Green Bay involving C.J. Stroud that were tough to watch. One particularly nasty hit out of bounds went unanswered—none of the Texans stepped up or pushed back. It was disappointing, plain and simple.Exactly. Demeco wouldn’t stand for his team doing nothing if the situation was reversed.
This is what I can’t stand with these darn writers. Al didn’t escalate the crap, it was Engram. He did more than just shoved Al, he hit him from behind and his teammates were on Al’s ash. That’s why Al grab one of the Jaguars players face mask. He was literally being jumped. So what he suppose to do? Not protect himself? The Texans-Jaguars fight overpowered the NFL’s fine system
Published December 8, 2024 09:34 AM
Last Sunday’s ugly incident between the Texans and Jaguars, sparked by the knockout blow applied to linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair to a sliding Trevor Lawrence, should have resulted in a broad array of fines for the fight that broke out after the hit.
Ultimately, only Jaguars tight end Evan Engram was fined. Not even Al-Shaair — who per the league “escalated [the fight] when [he] pulled an opponent down to the ground by his facemask — was separately punished for his actions during what was a pair of altercations. (The list of Al-Shaair infractions over the past several years includes an unsportsmanlike conduct foul for last Sunday, but no fine.)
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the folks responsible for meting out punishment decided it wouldn’t be fair to impose fines for the aftermath of one specific incident. It was the hit and Engram’s shove of Al-Shaair that sparked everything.
On one hand, it makes sense. On the other hand, it’s arguably a mistake, because it sends a message to all teams.
Once a significant incident happens and the battle is joined, have at it!
Moreover, the outcome required conscious disregard of the rules and past precedent. It also sets a new precedent that will potentially become part of the appeals process moving forward. A player who is fined for a fracas that stems from some other incident can argue that, if it wasn’t fair to fine everyone who got involved in a pair of fights last Sunday, it’s not fair to fine them, either.
