2025 Draft Prospects

FAs LT Alaric jackson
LG Trey Smith
RG Fries

Trade Tunsil to Bears for 2.39 +2.41+3.73 + LT Kiran Amegadjie

Trade 1.19 to Browns for 2.33 + 3.63 + 5 .38

Bears use 1.10 for Kelvin Banks as projected to put at LG ; possible replacement for Tunsil in future. This locks left side for Caleb Williams.

Browns get QB round 1 and 1.19 best LT to replace Jedric Wills injured and projected to leave in FA.

This is a kid I like a lot! Donovan Jackson of Bellaire, TX. He was the #1 rated OG out of high school and is a three-year starter for Ohio State. Earlier this season he was moved to left tackle when their starting tackle was injured for the year. He's dominated the playoffs. If he's still available in the 2nd, he's a guy who I believe can have an IMMEDIATE impact on our interior line.

36" arms and quick feet .... lot of possibilities !

After seeing Tank and Diggs go down,

I'm picking either Tre Harris or Savion Williams at 1-25.

Both are the closest thing to Nico in this draft. Kinda like Thomas Jr. last yr. I'm not sure Williams isn't better than Harris. It's real close. I'll also make a bet that Golden goes before 2-57.

Given choices between Booker at 1-25 or the WR's, I would go with Booker at 1-25 and then trade back into the bottom of the 1st/early 2nd for Harris/Williams. I'm also looking at taking a Tank like replacement guy Silas Bolden in the 5th/6th.

I see a tandem of:

Jayden Higgins (Iowa State / 6-4 @ 215 lbs) Amazing hands with a great catch radius. Maybe a bigger version of D-Hop. He’d be a real compliment to Nico.

Dont’e Thornton Jr (Tennessee / 6-5 @ 214 lbs) Size and speed make him a definitive downfield target who’d be more than capable of taking the top off defenses. His 21.9 YPC average in the SEC is fairly strong statement. Align him with Nico and Higgins, and their ability to spread defensive backfields out could be pretty impressive.

I’d like to see the team take a flyer out on another TE late in the draft or during the UDFA signing period. One guy I got my eye on in the draft:

TE- Maliq Carr (Houston via Purdue and Michigan State / 6-6 @ 260 lbs) Has a proven track record as a dependable blocking TE in the run/pass game and could be a decent target over the middle or up the seam if the team makes an effort to develop him.

Not a fan of Higgins.

Haven't seen Thorton, I watched the Ohio State game and he didn't show up. By his stats he looks good though. A guy to take a flier on later in the draft. What do you think of Tre Harris and Savion Williams?

I like both of them.

In the Vols bowl game against Ohio State….QB, Nico I only connected on 14 of 31 passes for 104 yards. The Buckeyes defense showed up and got plenty of pressure on Nico I effectively knocking the Vols passing game off track.

Higgins had a very nice season and finished up with a very good effort against ASU in the Cyclones bowl game loss. 7 Catches 115 Yards 16.4 Average. A strong route runner at all 3 levels.

A top 20 guy IMHO

I wonder how he will fit in a WCO?

Gotta see his shuttle times at the combine.
CBS sports has him at #29 as of now.
Wyatt Milam is at #50.
Aireontae Ersey is at #34
If Texans don't go after OL with the first, they may take Emeka Egbuka. Reunite him with his college buddy.

I dont think Egbuka falls to 1-25.

Would you trade up into the top 15 to get him?

I think he would fit fine just based on what ive seen from him. Seems athletic enough and if they stick some form of the WCO they need to bring in a technician as OL coach. Technique is important for any scheme but id say in the WCO/ZBS it is even more critical. Its why i didnt understand why they hired the former Oline coach in the first place.

Who they bring in as OC and OL coach could maybe change my opinion on what they need to do upfront.

Your last sentence is my concern but also my hope. For example if they bring in Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator, he might be interested in trading for Garrett Wilson and drafting Egbuka.

Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka 2022 highlights (with CJ Stroud at QB)

While Egbuka had a good senior year in Columbus (81-1011-10), clearly his soph season with CJ was his best. Emeka is an all around WR capable of pressuring defenses on short passes or deep crossers. Good hands, good run after catch ability, runs all of the routes, and is willing and able to go over the middle. Probably the highest floor of any WR in the 2025 draft class.

If they draft Egbuka then I hope they dont bring back Diggs.

I really like Egbuka as an option if he’s available in Round 1. I’m trying to work out a list of guys I like and what round I’d draft them, but I haven’t found the time yet.

I'm looking at adding both of the Rams WR's in FA and drafting Noel in the 4th rd. That would remake the WR room with dynamic WR's for Stroud to throw too.
I don’t think I’d want both. I think I’d see if I could sign Robinson, and let Atwell find a different home.

Why, it's not like their offense was good. Robinson has been the same wr wherever he has been. Kupp has exactly 2 1000 yd seasons in 8 yrs and he's 30 like Robinson. They could just draft 2 wrs, based on the potential cap hit, Diggs will be back too. Harris (ole miss) will be there in the 2nd rd, Golden too. Hell, Bond and Smith ( from UGA) as well.

Give me Atwell, Robinson and either Noel or Smith from UGA in rds 4-5. Smith can definitely spread the field and has pretty good hands too. The reason I want the Rams WR's is because they know the offense.

Collins/Atwell/Robinson/Smith/Metchie/Hutch is a diverse WR room. That's what's been missing the last few yrs. Speed and guys like Hutch/Metchie. Tell me what's the difference between Metchie/Hutch Woods. The new WR corps would be Deep threat Collins. Atwell in the slot (Dell but runs a 4.3) Smith can play outside or in the slot (4.3) Robinson is a threat. Metchie/Hutch are slot 4.6 guys.

Spend the rest of the draft on the OL/DL/Secondary.

Tutu is no Tank. He has a career average of 25 yds/game. Not someone I would pencil in as a starter or give more than the vet minimum. Doesn't even return punts.
He's a good player who has played well in limited time.

I've moved Donovan Jackson ahead of Booker although I've got Jackson/Booker about even and Zabel very close behind. I'm hoping Caserio comes out of this draft with one of these guys.
Not trying to start something .... tryin' to quit ! I think this experiment has sufficiently failed .... Zabel, Milum. Lundt or Trapillo ..... except .... we got'a get CJ a stud WR and RB .... I believe .... but then I'm try'in to quit !

How would you feel about a draft like this?

1. Jackson OG/OT
2. Daruis Alexander or Alfred Collins DT
3. Mason Taylor TE
4. Cobee Bryant CB
5. Arian Smith WR
6. Trade a 2026 pick Jayden Blue RB

Add 2 WR's in FA and an OG and lets roll.

I was hot for Booker then Jackson .... I still think they will be studs, but I think they're both man blockers rather than zone. We could certainly use Collins thru Smith .... and I know Demeco is all about defense - and he's done well to rebuild ours, but I think we need to rebuild offense .... with all alacrity .... saw Davy Crockett say that in a movie - always looking for an opportunity:smiliedance:.... but .... I really think our offense will improve us the quickest ..... this may not be the group of draftees .... bull I'm willing to chance it !

The reason I have Jackson over Booker is because Jackson is a great athlete that can play in any scheme. What I put out there was addressing the 2 biggest needs on offense IMHO. LG/TE. That will address the blocking issues. Sign a couple of cheap FA WR's there are quite a few out there that can play.

Fix the blocking and put a stud DT between WA/Hunter and this team can beat anybody. Imagine a DT like Jalen Carter in between WA/Hunter. That's what I think Alexander/Collins can be. They've certainly got the talent.
