I don't wanna...with our roster, at least 3 of the OL positions (LT, LG, RG) should be up for competition with no starter named yet.Sure but you agree Howard is starting LG?

I no wanna either. Nick's restructure of Tytus's contract says he's here for 2025 and no significant savings if he can find trade partner. I see him getting his future LT/now LG day 2 or in 2026. It is fun to mock what we think we should do but more difficult to mock what we think Nick is going to do.I don't wanna...with our roster, at least 3 of the OL positions (LT, LG, RG) should be up for competition with no starter named yet.
I could be wrong, but I thought I remembered a few people say that he actually performed okay at LG at the end of the season. I don’t have the stats because I don’t pay for PFF, so I could be mixing things up.I don't wanna...with our roster, at least 3 of the OL positions (LT, LG, RG) should be up for competition with no starter named yet.

I do agree that there should be a lot of competition on OL though.
Yep! That was short.
I didn't see any of this stuff. Dont know about the off field stuff. If healthy he's a top 10 pick and probably would go to the Pats at 1-4. Seems like this teams spreading rumors to get Simmons to fall to the bottom of the 1st rd. Could that team be the Texans? Chiefs? etc...Small write up on Simmons, if true doesn't sound like a player Ryans or Caserio would want
Crosky-Merritt (who went uninvited to the combine) had his pro day at the Big 12 Pro day in Frisco, TX.I like Croskey- Merritt and Tuten a little more than Smith.
This short work out clip shows nothing regarding his patellar tendon repair. Problems become evident when 250-300 lb players are constantly providing resistance during those maneuvers. His postsurgical prognosis for being able to attain "elite" performance is low, as is his chance for a long career
Am I reading this right in that it’s more a loss of strength rather than explosiveness? This short work out clip shows nothing regarding his patellar tendon repair. Yeah, i’m fine with the vet bandaid this year at LT if Banks isn’t their LT target. Plenty of guard prospects with a cleaner medical profile that also don’t have rumors about off-field issue (bad interviews at combine?). Get a guard if you have to, don’t force a LT pick. This short work out clip shows nothing regarding his patellar tendon repair. I would be okay with an OT but not Simmons. We already have 2OT with patellar injury historyYeah, i’m fine with the vet bandaid this year at LT if Banks isn’t their LT target. Posters that want Simmons to be drafted at 1-25 are probably the same posters that think Howard is actually an above avg player. If Simmons is drafted I would expect him to be avg at best. Give me a healthy Golden/Taylor etc.. over the chance that Simmons can stay healthy and be able to play well.Thank you! I wish him well for another team. The team gambled once and seems to have won with Stingley but don't press your luck!

I get that on a fundamental level, but here's what I'm getting at.When you lose strength, you lose explosiveness.
Quite so. Studies consistently have shown that of all sports, football athletes had the lowest return to sport rate overall, had the worst postoperative outcome, and demonstrated the greatest decrease in career lengths.I get that on a fundamental level, but here's what I'm getting at.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, goalie for Barcelona and the German national team, ruptured his patellar tendon late last September. Last Wednesday it's was reported he is making a return to training and looks every bit as explosive and acrobatic as he was before the injury. Soccer media, especially in Spain, is one part truth and one part propaganda so take the reports with a grain of salt; but nobody is suggesting that the injury will have a long-term effect on his career.
So is it the repeated contact and load bearing nature of OL that makes Simmons' long-term prognosis different than Stegen's?
Interesting as I would have thought it would have been NBA players.Quite so. Studies consistently have shown that of all sports, football athletes had the lowest return to sport rate overall, had the worst postoperative outcome, and demonstrated the greatest decrease in career lengths.
I think Helm is a mediocre TE without a top skill to hang his hat on. In a TE class without depth. So mediocre might get him drafted in the 3rd round.Thoughts on Helm
He's more athletic than I thought he is. Still not a good blocker. He's got tools to develop into a more athletic OD. He's not a bad player. 4th rd IMHO.I think Helm is a mediocre TE without a top skill to hang his hat on. In a TE class without depth. So mediocre might get him drafted in the 3rd round.

If Caserio wants Taylor he better pick him at 1-25, because he wont be there at 1-25. Let me give you an Alternative draft.I’d sure like to see TE- Mason Taylor (LSU) in a Texans jersey come Day 2 of the draft.
Are they high on him?Why are the Pats so high on Simmons? They know his injury like anyone else.
Because he's the best OT in this draft and has been projected to go to the Chiefs or before by most draftniks. Why are the Pats so high on Simmons? They know his injury like anyone else.
Bottom of the 1st seems like a good time to take a chance on a guy like Simmons. Atalent like Simmons is rare. Are they high on him?
Is he, even with the injury history? I wouldn't be shocked if he's off team's boards due to medicalsBecause he's the best OT in this draft and has been projected to go to the Chiefs or before by most draftniks.
Going by that metric, he is in the top ten percentile.Jackson is the prototype OG.
You're quite possibly correct. Is he, even with the injury history? I wouldn't be shocked if he's off team's boards due to medicals
My first thought is that he has the TE's and Campbell way too high
Kelvin Banks at #31?
Banks is a thick, sturdy left tackle. In pass protection, he launches out of his stance and shows the ability to sink and bend his knees. He keeps his hands inside and is patient with his punch. When he struggles, it’s because he sets up too deep or his feet settle too early. Both of those areas can be cleaned up. In the run game, he has initial knock-back power, but he doesn’t always strain to drive/finish. He is nimble to adjust and pick off defenders at the second level and on the perimeter. Some teams see him as more of a guard, but I believe he can hold up at tackle. Overall, Banks has some things to clean up, but I like his core foundation of strength/agility.
FWIW, Todd McShay, another one draft guy who leans heavily league contacts has Banks exactly at 25I personally would not move up for Banks, but if he is there at 25, I’m certainly highly interested…depends on who else is there, as always. I think he is a good to very good…but not great prospect. I also don’t know if they see him as a guard or tackle. I suspect if we do draft him, he starts at G and then possibly moves to LT next year.
I really like Banks, but if Donovan Jackson was also available it would be a tough choiceI personally would not move up for Banks, but if he is there at 25, I’m certainly highly interested…depends on who else is there, as always. Not as good as Bowers was coming outThe TE's are really good this year.
Warren offers enough as a blocker to make up the difference in their pass catching ability. Bowers is league average at best when lined up next to an OTNot as good as Bowers was coming out
Daniel Jeremiah is a really good source.Kelvin Banks at #31?
Jeremiah is pretty clued in. He had Banks at #19 in his 1.0 rankings. Banks has slid each iteration.
Banks ranking
1.0 - 19
2.0 - 24
3.0 - 29
4.0 - 31
Other internet scouts have Banks higher. I think this ranking is the floor. But this gives me hope that Banks could get to 1.25 or at least a spot the Texans could reasonably move up for Banks.
Restrepo is just about the perfect example of a slot receiver. He is never been known to be 40-yard dash fast but he knows how to anchor down and also to pick spots where the quarterback can see him and check down. He is an extremely good pass catcher. He is a slot only.Thoughts on Xavier Restrepo? I like that he's very smart, quick, and doesn't go down easily. That 40 time is pretty concerning though.
I really like Banks, but if Donovan Jackson was also available it would be a tough choice
The only issue I have with Donovan Jackson is we still have to go get a left tackle in 2026. Yes I followed him last season but he is not the answer long run in my opinion. He would be a great left guard but we have Howard filling that. As I said recently, Nick's plan may be to trade Howard after June the 1st and if that's plan, I could see him drafting Jackson. I would still prefer to get a left tackle for our future who could play left guard now. I do not want to get somebody and then move them all over the board in chess match.Just saw a new mock that covers some stats and information about WR and OL.
