You’re taking it way too personal, Finnegan. So if you are beating the sh..it out of someone why would you be saying Fu..k the rest as you are pounding them?
You’re taking it way too personal, Finnegan.
Those AI predictions are often some of the worst things I've ever seen.
I think Tank will have less yards less catches but more TDs than Nico & Diggs
If he took a step, it wasn't forward.
The great news will be if Mixon and Harris will be able to remain healthy over at least the next month. Quad and calf soft tissue injuries are notorious for being nagging and recurrent in the same season...............especially in the 6 weeks following returning to game play.Joe Mixon & Christian Harris are reportedly healthy and returning to practice according to Cody Stoots! Great news and timing!
Not at all. I like the photo, just think the words aren’t clear. You’re taking it way too personal, Finnegan.
He came back but didn't do muchWhat about Mixon? I don’t see him in either list.
I read that Christian Harris went on the practice field but did not stay very long before he left. Hopefully, just being super cautious.8/11/24
Starting linebacker Christian Harris returned to practice from a strained calf, but is getting checked out by trainers as they take precautions with him in his first workout back from the injury. Harris was originally expected to return later in the preseason.
Tight end Brevin Jordan also returned to practice. He had been out for roughly a week.
Nickel back Desmond King returned to practice from a groin injury.
Not practicing: Pro Bowl defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (ankle), offensive guard Shaq Mason (arm in a protectivfe brace, not considered long-term), starting cornerback Kamari Lassiter, a rookie second-round draft pick from Georgia, cornerback Jeff Okudah (shoulder), offensive tackle Tytus Howard (minor knee injury), offensive tackle Charlie Heck (plantar fasciitis in foot), tight end Teagan Quitoriano (strained calf) and defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. (calf). link
Just be aware that a black cat is going to jump on you just as you walk underneath that ladder! As for injuries I will say while we see the usual nagging soft tissue and other minor injuries, we haven’t lost anyone longer term who will be relied on heavily come the regular season, and nobody as of yet has been placed on either IR list. I wonder if Heck lands on ST IR. Same maybe with Teegan Q. All in all, I’m happy with the current state of affairs in terms of injury. It’s football…guys will be banged up, but as of today we are in pretty good shape. Hopefully Saturday doesn’t make me eat my words. Knocking on wood, throwing salt over my shoulder while wearing a garlic necklace.

By Competition Committee; amends Article XVII, Section 17.16(C), to permit each club to place a maximum of two players who are placed on an applicable Reserve List on the business day of the final roster reduction to be designated for return. Such players will immediately count as two of the club’s total designations.
Just looks like ankle tape peaking out his sock.Is Stroud wearing an white ankle sleeve on his right foot?

It could be either..........no way to tell................but both serve same purpose.Just looks like ankle tape peaking out his sock.

Spatting (reinforcement external to shoe) has been shown to help prevent ankle injury or re-injury.I guess my point was that it's pretty common that the QB gets his feet taped up every time he goes out to the field. As opposed to having a minor ankle issue with a sleeve to treat/support it. (I assumed that was your point, so i could be wrong.)
If the Texans version of "that pitcher" can come in provide instant production like that then I'd say it's worth it for this SB contending teamId wait till after the 3rd preseason game to let him and Hutch battle it out and as long as its not some disasterous trade like the astros did when they traded away loperfido and 3 others for that pitcher...i'd be ok with it.
I would agree if they didnt get hosed on the trade...there is no way Kikechu was worth what we gave....idk if bagwell or dana smith were behind the trade but its starting to seem like obrien is running the astros tradesIf the Texans version of "that pitcher" can come in provide instant production like that then I'd say it's worth it for this SB contending team

Aren't team doctors and trainers giving Ryans this advice? Are we going to see a massive increase soft tissue issues?
I still remember when the Texans were trying the frigid-air-cooled shoulder pads for a season (2009ish?)...it didn't take.[...] As a side note, as much as things have advanced in football player equipment, there has not been much improvements in development of cool game day wear.
If a guy like Jonathan Allen becomes available at the trade deadline I could see Caserio giving up a 2025 1st for him. Put Allen on a DL with Anderson/Autry/Allen/Hunter, is probably the best DL in the NFL and the Texans have the cap space to make a move like this. I'm thinking it's the reason they didn't spend cap space on Simmons.*Derailing Thread Warning*
Starter who is 2-0, (Astros are 3-0 in his starts) 2.70 ERA and 24 strikeouts in return for a 26-year-old minor-league infielder with a famous dad but no MLB games under his belt (and no apparent place in the Astors infield), Joey hitting .200 (for both Astros and Jays) when we already got Meyers and Chaz that are doing that, and a pitcher that got rocked in a few games with the big club. They are 8-3 since Kikuchi's first start. Not sure how that is giving up too much.
Bringing it back to the Texans, any contending team is going to be the buyer in a seller's market. Astros are in a win-now mode. Blue Jays are rebuilding and wanted low cost potential. If the Texans find themselves in the need for "that pitcher" they will probably have to part with a wanted asset because the NFL talent pool is much much smaller than the baseball talent pool. Regardless of how well that traded talent works out for another team, if what you get in return gets you where you want to be is totally worth it. Bring a Lombardi to Houston and I won't cry too hard about the assets we had to give up to get it. Especially in the parity driven NFL where it is so hard to go to the conference championship game consistently much less the Super Bowl.
And the company is still promoting and selling them.I still remember when the Texans were trying the frigid-air-cooled shoulder pads for a season (2009ish?)...it didn't take.
So much for "acclimation"!!!Acclimation of an elite athlete's body to high temps and humidity has been shown to take at least 10 days. Here in the south, HS and collegiate football players have been recommended to acclimate over weeks. These couple of "acclimation" days prior to the Giants game are unlikely to protect our players. Furthermore, the full effects of acclimation can only be achieved with virtually daily training in extreme hot temps.
The largest and fattest football players are the most heat-sensitive. Players with larger body masses and shorter limbs minimize heat loss, while those with slimmer bodies and longer limbs to facilitate heat dissipation.
Interestingly, very muscular players are extremely at risk when playing in extreme heat. Men tend to have a greater muscle mass than women which results in them generating more internal body heat. Even at rest, male muscles produce at least 25% of his body's normal temperature, so much more muscle mass means a much greater heat production.
Acclimation techniques MAY decrease some potential risks. But unfortunately, they don't usually compensate for all and certainly don't compensate all that well for performance losses.
As a side note, as much as things have advanced in football player equipment, there has not been much improvements in development of cool game day wear.
I am not against Jonathan Allen, however as the trade line has been pushed back to after week 9 and Denico Autry will be back before then, I think Texans roll without a trade. If a guy like Jonathan Allen becomes available at the trade deadline I could see Caserio giving up a 2025 1st for him. My understanding is the Texas do not pay him for those six suspended games.
We can afford him but every article about a trade indicates Commanders trading him to increase cap space. They have 36 million now so I don't know why it's an issue if he is productive. They were apparently in on Judon. With Autry out, they are looking for some insurance. Plus DeMeco loves him some dlineman.
Obviously he's just a rookie, but I saw us somewhat abuse Payton Wilson several times in the passing attack during that game and he's supposed to be a good coverage LB.

An article I read mentioned that Judon may not sign with Atlanta unless they agree to his contract demands. The article indicated he would then revert back to Patriots. My thinking is if the trade was completed without extending him, he is now a Falcon. If they can't sign him, he either sits out and eventually becomes a free agent or Falcons trade him. They were apparently in on Judon. With Autry out, they are looking for some insurance. Diggs allegedly pushed the trade lowering his value. I agree we won't get much for WRs after 6.In the long run it probably was too much. BUT, if the Astros have another downtown parade in early November and Kikuchi was part of the reason why, then it really doesn't matter.
The Astros gave up 2 future All Stars for Randy Johnson. No one knew they were going to be All-Stars, of course, but when you're a contender those are the moves you have to make. It didn't work out of course as they couldn't get past the great and powerful Sterling Hitchcock, but still a move you have to make. The guys they gave up for JV and Greinke haven't done jack. Baseball prospects are more of a crapshoot than the NFL draft is. And by a long shot.
As far as the Texans are concerned trading away one of these WRs they're likely going to be cutting, it's going to be for a draft pick. Then that will be used to either draft a player at that spot, or packaged to move up in the draft to get someone. And I can't imagine any of these potential trade bait WRs going for any better than a 6th, if that much. Not even Woods. Hell, we got a 28 year old 1 time Pro Bowl, 4 time 1,000 yard, 5 time 1,200+ yards from scrimmage RB for a 7th.
No way does another team make the same mistake as the Jets have made by trading for Reddick right? An article I read mentioned that Judon may not sign with Atlanta unless they agree to his contract demands. The article indicated he would then revert back to Patriots. My thinking is if the trade was completed without extending him, he is now a Falcon. If they can't sign him, he either sits out and eventually becomes a free agent or Falcons trade him.
Would that put the Texans back into play if indeed they wanted him?
Next thing you know, he'll drop his pants and be kicked out of the game!!!!!!!!!Diggs is going to light it up like a Christmas tree this year. Those thinking he’s in rapid decline are going to be sorely disappointed. Who do teams double?
