No thanksI don’t think Stroud cares about contracts. Stroud just wants a guy who can catch. It’s up to Caserio to make it work.

Uh-oh. Looks like Kansas City is sending cornerback Snead to the Colts.
Where did CJ get all these fast wide receivers that are running by me?good for the Colts... THEY ARE GOING TO NEED HIM!
In the 3rd round of the 2021 draft, the 3rd round of the 2023 draft, and the 2nd round of the 2024 draft.Where did CJ get all these fast wide receivers that are running by me?
Ja'Davarius Snead
Now we gotta see that sucker twice a year
If this is the price, I would have been all over this deal. AFC South is rapidly improving.
Interesting how they are saying the interest in Allen was specific & there's really no interest in anyone else.
Wow would have gave Allen an extension too after they trade for him. Ugh

In a draft known to be deep at WR we most likely can get another stud receiver that way!I don’t think Stroud cares about contracts. Stroud just wants a guy who can catch. It’s up to Caserio to make it work.

Unless they are from Ohio State.I don't really give a **** how good Stroud is. I don't want him chiming in in every roster move and management and coaching concerns. He's a player. We've seen way too many football and basketball players hold team hostages with their demands.
No thanks.

Yes, and Noah Brown showed last year he can be a good stop gap if that rookie takes some time to get up to speed. In a draft known to be deep at WR we most likely can get another stud receiver that way!
I love that the McNair's have backed off of the Not Texans Worthy stance

Texans GM Nick Caserio talks free agency, trading out of first round
Caserio talks about what he’s most pleased with this offseason so far, discusses the “DeMeco Effect,” the signing of Danielle Hunter, trading for Joe Mixon and trading out of the first round (for now at least).www.audacy.com
For the last time no McNair at any point in time ever said that. It was Matt Schaub talking about Ndamukong Suh, you know the guy that kicked Schaub in the balls, when asked about him joining the team.

Matt Schaub says Ndamukong Suh is 'not Houston Texans worthy'
The Texans' starting quarterback wouldn't want the former NFL defensive rookie of the year on his team.www.usatoday.com
I don’t think he was chiming in on all the roster moves unless I’ve been missing something. Demanding is one thing and I agree wholeheartedly. I’d still want Stroud’s input though. Heck I’d even want Ward’s input on what he thinks could help gel that secondary.I don't really give a **** how good Stroud is. Wouldn’t you want players input in that capacity? Or are you taking a hard line stance that they need to STFU and play? There’s no right or wrong answer here. Genuinely curious.

The only position the Texans are clearly worse after a week into FA is DT. I still have no earthly idea why you trade Collins for a pack of chewing gum. Nonsensical without a move in place to bring in Aric or some other piece. There’s nobody left they can sign that is as good as Collins and it’s not like Collins is an all-pro, but he’s a steady, generally healthy decent starter. And then you turn around and low ball Rankins, who is a level above Collins imho and a high quality starter.
So you lose both starters and replace them with guys a level or two below the guys you lost. Someone make sense of this nonsense. At this point, DT is job #1 in the draft.
It's the healthy part that was in question. As @CloakNNNdagger mentioned, Collins has a degenerative hip issue. Collins did have his most productive season in 2023 (5 sacks, 28 pressures). But was a no show in the playoffs, possibly indicating his hip was acting up.here’s nobody left they can sign that is as good as Collins and it’s not like Collins is an all-pro, but he’s a steady, generally healthy decent starter.
From the Caserio interview, it was pretty clear when he was asked about Collins that they wanted to move on from him. He was never part of their plan for 2024. I don't know exactly why. Also, it is the only position where he clearly stated that they were not done addiing to in free agency.

5:56...the day starts on Monday it goes pretty quick but and then players come off the board you have agreements in place but I
6:03
would say the one thing you have to be careful of is sometimes even though there's agreements in place they really
6:08
don't manifest themselves until actually Wednesday when you can actually I would say sign the contract or go through the
6:16
medical process and just make sure that you have the player um I'd say just it just seemed this year maybe more than
6:23
years past there was a little bit more movement relative to player making
6:28
commitment one place and then you kind of saw a change of tune or change of heart which goes back to what I said a little bit earlier you just can't get
6:34
too fixated if you lose a player then you just have to go to the next player so I think what you try to do is after...

Seahawks Sign Mario Edwards Jr., Add 'Big Factor' to Defense
Seeking experienced depth to add to their reconstructed defensive line, the Seattle Seahawks have officially inked Mario Edwards, who met with the team back in March.www.si.com
Best article on what we are getting with Edwards. He has played 3 tech through 9 tech, standup, hand down and has always been a plus run stopper on the edge. Low key signing that could be a major plus for the season. This isn’t just a depth add in my opinion.
Mario Edwards is a guy that's never been out of the league since he came in as a rookie in 2015. Still, he's someone that's never had much of an impact. Edwards may make this team. But if he's getting more than 33% of the snaps, the Texans are having injury problems.Low key signing that could be a major plus for the season. This isn’t just a depth add in my opinion.
I think DeMeco leaned heavily on Nick's evaluations in regard to returning players in 2023. Once he got to see Collins in person every week, Ryans cooled on him. This is to you and Lucky really. Why sign Collins to an extension last offseason then? Was the hip a new issue?
I think Settle and Fukasi can be the run stoppers they need. So, I would be happy adding an athletic pass rushing DT like Fiske in the 2nd or Logan Lee later in the draft. This is Caserio talking from an interview:
I think one of those players Caserio is talking about is Arik. Remember it was a forgone conclusion he'd be a Texan. It was assumed we'd put out some type of feelers and had an arrangement in place that He'd sign here once released.
It's possible that the Texans made that deal with that in mind, but once he hit the open market and saw the contract he was offered from another team he just couldn't turn it down.
Either way I think they were ok with losing Collins.
I think Ryans saw Collins as a good player but very replaceable. Can't fix everything in one off-season. This yr Collins is replaceable. Thanks for the input, guys. That makes sense Lucky. And I appreciate your POV JWL.
I always enjoy chopping it up with you guys and many others, and I learn more here than anywhere else I go. I appreciate all of you!

If a guy like Darius Robinson is at 42 he’d be too good to pass up imo. But I no longer see edge as a need. It’s a strength of this team.
I think Robinson could easily play on the interior even against the run. If he wanted to he could put on 10-15 lbs and be a true 300 pounder or he could keep around his current weight and be more versatile.
