2023 TEXANS DRAFT DISCUSSION

This has already been addressed internally which is why they are not afraid to do business with Mulugeta and its very simple ....

Essentially any contract that has a no trade clause will have an out, voiding the no trade clause should the player demand to be traded.

The player can have his NTC but he can't weaponize it against the team as doing so would void the NTC itself.

@steelbtexan

Like you I was concerned about Mulugheta.

It seems the Texans org have fixed the concern.

I don’t see Caserio getting took by Mulugheta. He turned the trade into a situation that eventually paid off for the Texans. Mulugheta won by getting Watson that contract but it doesn’t mean the Texans lost except the time to rebuild.

The concern will be back after yr 3.

There is that concern with every player, and yes more prevalent with Mulugheta’s clients.

I have faith in Caserio and Demeco. Caserio is smart to the negotiation game and Demeco is a coach that players want to play for. Part of the reason we found ourselves in the situation is OB and Easterby playing as GM. And Cal being aloof?too trusting?naive?

Stroud will get paid when the time comes and hopefully it will be a contract like Hurts.

Looking at that division , the winner going 10-7. I don't see a clear cut winner in that division honestly. The Browns can win that division as much as the Bengals , Ravens, or Steelers unless people think Watson will play as bad as he did last season which I don't. Jmo
I’ll have to disagree here, the Bengals are the top dog of that conference until one of those other team shows otherwise.

Good luck with this, hope you're right. History of DM says you're gonna be disappointed. He could care less if his clients win championships and any client who chooses him as an agent during their rookie contract is in the same boat with DM.

We will see. Baltimore was in control of that division until Jackson went down. Pittsburgh had a rookie qb and Cleveland had a guy who hadnt played in 2 yrs. They won the division at 11-6, I doubt anyone wins 11 games in that division unless they're cross division is a sorry one.

You do know that post was bs right? C'mon bro, you're better than this.
CnD isn't known for posting BS.

Look at their QB room and the 1st part of what Derrick wants will be complete. Just waiting for Stefanski to suffer his fate and Derrick will have what he wants. Sign #1 Derrick already wants more say in how the offense is run next yr.

I think he had to. Can you imagine the backlash if he had kept the Texans pick "See Demeco even thinks this team won't be worth a damn!"
I doubt Ryans thought much about it. Saw a way to get two of top three players in draft and at high skill positions with great stats, dire priority needs and ticket sellers.

Rest of draft was just honey for the buttered biscuits.

Depends I would think on how well Hooker does this season.
How many times have we seen a guy replace another guy 3 years younger in his prime? I'm not saying it can't, I'm just saying if Goff repeats his play from last year, which is highly possible, Hooker will be on another team. In 4 years, Goff will be 33 and Hooker 29 almost 30. I thought him in DC made more sense.

Well, maybe not when it comes to medicals, but that post was garbage. It started off on some bs about all black everything, yet every team he was willing to go to didn't have a black coach anywhere.

He will end up with exactly what that article said he wanted.

The reason it didn't happen to begin with is Derrick's money bag grab. Now he's started on what was in that article, he's a HC away from accomplishing his goal.

Wanna bet on this? Black GM/HC/QB room by the start of the 2024 season.

Look for Goff to have another 2022 stat sheet and Lions to go no further than rung one in POs. Hooker not going anywhere next two years barring a huge trade offer.

I agree, but the conversation was about giving up the Texans 1st rounder vs. the one from Cleveland. I'm sure they could have gotten the deal done with Cleveland's pick, but the optics would be bad from the Texan's side.

There is something called "fill in the blank" derangement syndrome. I now believe WDS is real.

He's just a HC away and Stephanski isn't making it through next offseason. You can either choose to believe what CnD is telling you or not.

🙂 no you are not sure. You just think you are because you think AZ would have accepted it. No way we can know that.

All we can do is wait and see.

I for one am not going worry, pout and complain about the “what could happen” especially when I have no control over it.

I am just going to enjoy the moment while it lasts. As history has shown through the Kubiak and OB years - the good times don’t last for long.

I recommend you do the same.

I already have, a couple of months ago I decided not to invest financially or emotionally in this team and instead I'm just going to tell people what I think. This is going to make some posters choke on their kool-aid.

The McNair's only care about buts in the seats, why should I care about their team?

Yea but who friggin' cares about the perv and what he wants?? I could care less what he wants or who his agent is. I'll check box scores looking for CLE L's otherwise I don't care wasting any of my energy even thinking about him but you do you.

It was bs speculation as usual. Khan interviewed, he's not black, yet the so called article used him as an example. None of the owners and gms are black excepts Berry, but you said it was a money grab. None of the coaching staffs that were in the running didn't even have a black rb coach. Yet Watson was going to force Cal to sell the team. C'mon, you're smarter than that by a wide margin.

I was afraid that the Brigade was going to run out of Kool-Aid this weekend.

Yep, I decided a couple of months ago that I'm in prove it mode.

I'm also not going to hold back my true thoughts when the season starts. If Stroud's dumb as a box of rocks as his test scores suggest and he plays to that level I'm going to let the kool-aid club know about it. Cal didn't learn a darn thing and his greed is going to comeback on him.

I can invision a thread ten thousand posts long, made up of only you and SteelB alternately replying Kool-aid Brigade and butts in seats ad nauseum

I can picture a thread where posters defend a sexual predator thats just as long as the thread you're talking about.

Please tell me that the few here "who shall not be named" are not going to watch Texans games rooting for failure JUST so they can post on a MB "see, told ya so". That has got be the WORST exsistence. I just can't wrap my head around it. I have so much going on in my life.....and I'm only 53 so you old farts can say what you will but I got no time for that.

They may not watch but they'll read the box scores and tell you how much the Texans suck

Every draft posters don't like, next year is better. Remember Keyshon Boutte was a projected 1st rd pick? Stromberg? Sika? Hell they tried to yell us Levis and Hooker were going in the 1st 15 picks. Nobody know how the players in 2024 is going to perform. Some may pull a Hackenburg or Matt Barkley. We won't know the player evals until after the season. Until then, I'm going to watch the squad and hope they show vast improvement.

I bet the #1 & the #3 pick sign before he does. I bet he’ll be the last of the top 10 to sign.

or he’ll have some crazySjt in his contract that no one else even thought of asking.

This wont be me.

But there are no excuses. Mills treatment

Because I see them topping out like the RS/Kubiak teams did. The McNair's settled for a good QB at 1-2 to get fans back in the seats.
Didn't you enjoy the Kubiak teams prior to 2010? And again in 2011/2012?
