To me it’s painful looking at what we could have done.
2. Will Anderson
12. Christian Gonzalez
33. Mayer/Downs/whatever player you like that’s still available after the Steelers pick
That would be a helluva draft already and you’d still have all your draft capital next year
Who is throwing the ball?
You mean to tell me that he actually let nick do their jobs?
Never proposed tanking but go off man as long as it makes you feel better!"next year or the year after, maybe that third year".
"Ya know when the HOFer declares for the draft, yea that guy"
"just keep tanking and we'll get there one day, or year or maybe not, but just be sure you don't "waste the pick" on a QB that's not a sure fire HOFer"
Just a thought:
Panthers take Stroud #1
Texans snag Will Anderson at #2 (away from the Cardinals assuming that’s their guy)
Texans trade up from #12 to #3 to jump the Colts and take Bryce Young
When you have a bad team you simply aren’t gonna fill all the holes in one offseason. I don’t think Stroud adequately addresses our hole at QB (if we want to compete at a high level) and so I don’t think we should have taken him. I’ll be rooting for him hard though I hope I’m wrongWho is throwing the ball?
So I think this is the thinking that gets you tied down to mediocre QB play.Maybe not on his own. But he only needs to beat their defense, which is highly possible in our scheme. OUR defense needs to be able to walk into Arrowhead or Cincy and wreck house. I think that is the gameplan moving forward.
Get it over it dude.To me it’s painful looking at what we could have done.

Like you said, it is subjective on how we view Stroud. So I think this is the thinking that gets you tied down to mediocre QB play.
We tried that with Schaub in 2013 and got totally eviscerated by the Pats, tried again with Osweiler and they did the same thing to us again.
When you look at teams that compete at a high level year in and year out they all have a constant. Excellent QB play. I’d have been okay with a QB at 2 but it should have been Richardson, a guy who I think has the potential to be a top 5 QB.
Richardson will either get there in a few years or it will be abundantly clear that he’s not the guy by 2025.
I think Stroud will be a tease. Playing just well enough one year where you trick yourself into thinking “okay if we could just put in a couple more pieces this off-season we can go in and beat Mahomes”. Repeat year after year until the experiment runs its course just like with Schaub and Kubiak
I bet it is highly likely. I hope he shows some patience and stands pat.So what are the odds of Casino trading off some more picks to move up into the 2nd round? We might end up with only four picks out of this draft. LOL
What a poor memory you have. If Schaub had not been amputated by Haynesworth, the Texans would have made at least the AFCCG in 2011We tried that with Schaub in 2013 and got totally eviscerated by the Pats,
What a weird response, I’ll take that advice and give you some back. Grow up not everyone is going to feel the same way as you.Get it over it dude.
They got their QB now so if he fails they are right in line to get ARCH MANNING!!!"next year or the year after, maybe that third year".

You notice he didn't say anything about Hannah...LOLYou mean to tell me that he actually let nick do their jobs?![]()

I agree but that was a year we got lucky and drew the Joe Flacco lead Ravens. We aren’t getting that lucky in this AFC. If you want to do anything of note in the AFC for the next decade you’re going through at least one probably two elite QB’s.What a poor memory you have. If Schaub had not been amputated by Haynesworth, the Texans would have made at least the AFCCG in 2011
The Rams won with Stafford throwing 2 INTs; they didn't have better QB play in that game.So I think this is the thinking that gets you tied down to mediocre QB play.

No, Levis finally off the boardHooker to the Titans here?
You don’t have to wait for him to fall in your lap you can go get him. Like us and the Chiefs did in 2017.None of those quotes are attributed to you but as long as it makes you feel better have at it.
Its a line of thinking that we can just wait, wait and wait some more for "the guy" to fall in our lap. Think about it, its quite possible that this will be just thr THIRD capable QB in 23 years, that's a fan beat down of the highest order......

ugh, i was hoping LaPorta would fall a bit
It is Detroit man. No one else would have drafted him there. They still have 48 and 55. They have drafted all of their players at least one of their picks too high. I'd have liked their draft had they drafted someone else at 12, then bumped everyone down to their next pickugh, i was hoping LaPorta would fall a bit
You’re the one on here complaining. Is that the only reason why you’re here? What a weird response, I’ll take that advice and give you some back. Grow up not everyone is going to feel the same way as you.

Great information, good to know.I have discussed my remaining concern about Mulugheta as the agent
Basically I think we just committed ourselves to a ceiling of being a 2nd tier AFC team.
I guess they felt their players wouldn't be there at their next selectionIt is Detroit man. No one else would have drafted him there. They still have 48 and 55. I’m on here to talk about the football team I’m a fan of. I am being critical of a choice that I don’t believe will work out for the Texans but in general I’m a pretty positive fan. You’re the one on here complaining. Is that the only reason why you’re here?
The Texans no longer have a bad team.
They can compete for the AFC South banner right now.
Yeah I'm still trying to figure out if Anderson, 1.12, Levis + all the other picks we traded are better or worse than Anderson/Stroud.Great information, good to know.
But my post wasn’t about Mulugheta. It was about the Texans valuation process.
if he’s 2nd tier don’t pay him like he’s 1st tier. Be prepared to lose him because of who his agent is.
Here is some poop soup for you. Next year's draft the top 6 to 8 picks are better than this year's draft. 2024 1st RD picks are premium picks, you don't give them away. Giving away 1 of your 2 2024 1st RD picks may cost you a chance at Marvin Harrison or Brock Bowers or 1 of the 3 QBs who are all better than the QBs in this year's draft. The smart move would have been to trade back and pick up a 3rd 2024 1st RD pick. That would require someone to put down their Gameboy joystick and stop living in the moment. We call this forward-thinking Poop Soup. Some here are rose colored glasses fans in the Kool-Aid Brigade and others choose to head up the poop soup posse where everything smells like ****. Most of us are somewhere in between and most of us are actually fans. I can understand and handle a Kool-Aid Brigader. Just a fan rooting blindly for their team. It’s the poop soup posse peddler’s that baffle me and that you have to be mindful of. Their joy seemingly comes more from sowing dissension than fandom.
Correct. Jags are the favorites but it’s not like the Peyton Manning Colts era. No team has a firm grip on the division right now.
Even if I believed that my ultimate hope for this team is not competing for an AFCS title in 2023. It’s to be a team that is competing for championships. I don’t think Stroud will get us thereThe Texans no longer have a bad team.

That is a fair assessment. Everyone's has their opinion regarding Stroud, which is why I made the other post topic where we can guess to his success level in 3 years, and revisit it at that time. This time next year people will be punching holes in Caleb Williams and Drake Mayes and everyone will be screaming to wait for 2025. Happens every year.Even if I believed that my ultimate hope for this team is not competing for an AFCS title in 2023. It’s to be a team that is competing for championships. I don’t think Stroud will get us there
Lol are we back to you pretending you know anything about what’s happening in the draft room?Unfortunately, this would say more about Demeco than it would Caserio.

not voiced yet if they didDid the Texans trade into the second round? I thought I saw that in the de
raft order tonight…or maybe too much Angels Envy? Edit I guess not
