They have done enough to compete for a division if they hit on the QB. That's not saying much if you expect Green, Stingley, and Pitre to also improve.
The Jags look to have a young franchise QB, which is all that matters in the NFL. Terrible teams with great QBs win games and even Super Bowls. Great teams with bad QBs don't win anything.
The Cowboys are arguably the most talented team in the NFL. They have a mediocre QB, far from terrible, but not great. They aren't winning anything in the playoffs.
