NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compared Notre Dame WR Miles Boykin to Lions WR Kenny Golladay.
Like Golladay, Zierlein notes Boykin (6’4/220) has high upside but needs to improve in a few areas in order to maximize his potential. He explains that Boykin will "have to learn how to counter press, improve his routes and become more competitive when the ball is in the air." After annihilating the combine with a 99.9th percentile athletic composite score, Boykin’s draft stock is sitting on the cusp of the 1st round.

With clear needs at the offensive tackle, cornerback and running backs positions, the Texans have work to do before the season kicks off. The Texans have started to get to work on interviews and informal meetings with players since the start of the off-season heading to the NFL Draft.
 
Anybody know where I can find a list of the pro day workout results. I really want to see the results from the Alabama/Ohio St. pro days.

One NFL scout in Morgantown, W.V., just texted that QB Will Grier "put on a show" for NFL Teams in attendance and predicted he’s "a riser." The WVU QB is expected to meet with at least 10 teams before the draft, including the Giants, Redskins, Chargers, Pats and Saints.

Houston Texans Host Memphis RB Darrell Henderson on a Pre-Draft Visit at NRG Stadium.

The Houston Texans hosted draft prospect and former Memphis running back Darrell Henderson at NRG Stadium. The Texans are allowed 30 pre-draft visits to prospects to their facility and Henderson is one name that is on the list. The Texans met with Henderson at the NFL Combine giving the Texans their initial look at the talented running back. The Texans are keeping a close eye on the running back position group heading into the NFL Draft.

Henderson measured at 5-foot-8 and 208 lbs. during weigh-ins. His arms checked in at 31 inches and hands at 8 5/8 inches.

Considered one of the top backs in the nation, Henderson finished second in the country rushing for 1,909 yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. Selected as an AP All-American, he also averaged 8.9 yards a carry while catching 19 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns.

In 35 career games played, Henderson is Memphis' second-leading rusher in the program's history with 3,082 rushing yards. His 31 career rushing touchdowns rank him third in school history and his 40 total touchdowns have him tied for second-most. Also, his 4,302 career all-purpose yards ranks second in program history and he was just the third Tiger to rush for over 1,000 yards in multiple seasons.

Henderson finished his football career with the Tigers averaging 146.8 yards a game on the ground in his final season.
 
You won't be hearing anything bad about the 2019 QB class from me. I see at least 6 franchise QBs. ;)

I know the Texans need OT and CB's but if Oliver fell to #23 they better run to podium with their card! I guess crazier things have happened in the Draft but with this year being deep in DL I could see a top 10 D-lineman getting lost in the shuffle and falling to #23. Not saying it would be Oliver, but someone that was rated very high and expected to be long gone by #23. It could happen!

I had this dude pegged back in January.
Alas, his draft stocks will continue to rise and I am not sure if he will be there for our 5th and I can't see the Texans taking him in the 3rd which is where they'll have to take him if they want to - unless Foreman is not recovering satisfactorily.
Another guy to check out is Bruce Anderson. Small school guy who would be 3rd rounder if he was in the SEC.
All he needs is some technique coaching on his blocking and he is the complete back.

Good player but wonder if they think he’s a CB (atleast nickel) to be interested enough to take him in 2nd or 3rd where he’s projected in an effort to get him on the field quicker.

With his 4.36 speed he’d certainly help add speed to the secondary like they’ve been attempting to do this offseason. I’m sure that would be an asset on ST as well.

He is a college-converted CB who is fast as heck. But most scouts' biggest concern with Savage is his inconsistency in tackling.........especially, open field tackling. He too often misses or whiffs on tackles as he comes in out of control. Don't know if he can make it as an NFL FS..........more likely will need to be relegated to the slot.

What I saw is a guy who is good enough at tackling but struggles to come down in the box and be physical in the run game/get off of blocks. Also he struggled to get bigger RB's on the ground due to his size.

We used to have him at KU and David Beaty was such a disaster of a coach that he transferred and wouldn't you know turned into a real player with proper coaching. The only thing that gives us hope is that, at the end of the day, we aren't Mizzou fans and that makes everything better. Oh, and Les Miles at least provides some hope and entertainment as well.

Williams ran a 4.64 at the combine. If you're referencing Pro Day timing, you can pretty much add a 1/10 of a second to the handheld time. I think a lot of teams are looking at Williams as a FS.
 
Has anyone researched the correlation between visits and drafted player or ufa signing with the Texans?

you can click on game film to evaluate and assign him your grade. besides excellent size, his closing speed off great recognition skills pushing him to elite. Very physical in press corner uses hands well, doesn't get targeted a lot so willingness to help out. Plus tackler for cornerback. Not speedster like Greedy but prefer is brand of play and fits Texan mold. late first round grade imo

Pats and Seahawks had success with a CB who had similar measurables in Brandon Browner. Both teams schemed to his strengths giving him safety help over the top and letting him play physical without worrying about getting beaten deep.

Maybe Texans could copy that idea but hopefully with a player that is a bit more mentally stable in the young rook?

Well they said 4.71 to 4.75, but that's respectable.
But what really caught my eye was that he weighed 481 today, man that's light and it's been a concern about Oliver all long.
I dunno who was it that thought he might be able to play LB, so maybe there's something to that ?
He does look like a candidate who could drop in this Draft. I say it' more likely that he's drafted in the last 10 spots of round one rather than
the first 10 spots.

Oliver's profile size/speed/production is a pretty good Aaron Donald wannabe coming out of college...

If he's there at 23 you just pick him and thank your lucky stars.

ATL is as far as he will fall, but I ecpect Oliver to be a top 10 pick. Possibly to the NYG's

I'd never pigeon hole an athlete.....let him compete knowing it's an open competition and gaining a starting position is strictly up to him. With his speed and willingness to hit you never know how this may play out.....worse case scenario, he's a backup as he develops and plays with the ST unit.

My understanding is that he played out of position in college @ NT as he would appear to be a natural 3-tech, does not possess the length to play the edge.
He also played his college ball in the minors (non power-5 at UofH) so how would he have done in the majors in the SEC or Big 10 ?
OK he has some similarities to Donald but that doesn't automatically make him a contender for being the next NFL defensive player of the year.
Now about the weight - he is smallish and if he's trimmed down to 281 for his PD then in a brutal 16-game NFL schedule he might drop to well under 280 and
that's just too small for an NFL DT.
