From what I gather, it appears that the Texans are pursuing ex-Bills RT Jordan Mills strongly.

Whelp, at least he hasn't missed a game in 3 years.
Last year, PFF ranked him 70th of OTs with a 56 rating.
Jordan Mills has been an example of consistency, as he’s played over 1,000 snaps in each of the past three seasons, making him one of only seven tackles to do so. He is still only 28 years old, but he has never surpassed his career-high 62.7 overall grade, which came in his final season with the Chicago Bears. At this point in his career, Mills has proven that he can be a stable backup offensive lineman in this league but not a quality starter for a team.PFF

BTW, he has only had knick knack injuries since his rookie year in 2014 when he required surgery for a Jones (5th metatarsal) fracture.
He's still on his rookie deal. He's good (I think) not best RB in the league where his 2nd contract should be unthinkable.
& I believe he's been healthy.
What really sux about this is the Texans either weren't looking to upgrade the position or didn't know he was available.
Neither is a situation I think we should be in.
Tells me they are happy with Forman's rehab.Of all of the free agent signings the Texans missed out on, this one hurts the most. A productive RB better than any RB on our roster and he was cheap.
I seriously don't know how they could miss trade opportunities like this, it was being reported that CHI was looking to move the RB for a while. I would think gms have this info before reporters. It so hard to know what was actually missed and what was never offered. We read that a trade or deal was made and always assume that the deal was open to everyone and that it was up to the first one that offered. I'm not excusing them but I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. If the Texans just flat out missed this deal and it was on the table for anyone then yeah that was a big miss and shows a root problem in the org. When thinking about that though I have to wonder how all the other teams missed it to. We aren't the only one that could use an upgrade at RB so how did it slip past every ones, except for Philly's, notice?

Doesn't mean they won't look for an upgrade in the draft.
So if we have a healthy Foreman, Lamar Miller, and Jordan Howard on our roster... how do you divvy up the carries? If Foreman is healthy, then I want Foreman getting the bulk of carries with Miller being more of a traditional 3rd down back. Then that means we paid 2mil + 6th round pick for a special teamer.
Also, for those of you that hate the constant runs between the tackles that BOB calls, then you should be happy we didn't get Howard.
TBH, I’m not a Jordan Howard fan. I like Foreman better because he has the speed for big plays, while I think Howard does not. I even rate Foreman as a better receiver. Why in the world would you expect Foreman to be better than Howard?

Not according to Gaine.Right, because they should be able to address all their many needs with the draft only.

I wouldn't like to draft a RB at the expense of a good olineman though.Foreman was on the radio the other day and he was talking about how him and OB weren’t on the same page because he didn’t feel he was putting in enough work.
Foreman gave the mature answer and acknowledged that he wasn’t and that he has learned he needs to do more and take the game more seriously.
I would keep him around but I’d draft and make moves as if he wasn’t there. Or wa going to be rb3 at best. If he’s better than that, bonus territory.

I feel if we can get even one road grading lineman, the offense could begin to look like it should.
Yep, sniffed him out a few weeks ago.Got a nice RB in mind for RD5 or later. Check out Bruce Anderson, North Dakota State. Another poster turned me onto this athlete. He's a solid pick in RD5 or later. A Foreman and Miller type of RB rolled onto one.

I was hoping they could land Mark Ingram.
Hard runner suited to Bob's up the gut run play addiction
IIRC he was a decent value contract wise
The Texans dont spend $$$$ in FA.
They're all about the draft.
Next offseason when they have the most cap space in the NFL and a guy like Ingram comes along dont expect them to sign him. It's not the Texans worthy way. But hey, they're on their way to the cap savings AFCCG so I guess fans should buy in to they are doing every thing they can to put the best product on the field possible.

They have tried to spend the money, unfortunately the other parties went elsewhere. It was said that we offered Solders the same amount as the Giants. And I'm pretty sure the offer to Brown was a substantial amount .
I didn’t see many (any?) people on this board pining for Howard in a Texans uniform but now he’s “another one that got away “.
The NFL is a passing and running back by committee league. I believe the Texans can find their 3rd running back somewhere between rounds 3 and 5. But it really won’t matter until they solidify the offensive line.

Looks like his secret is well and truly out - Chicago is eyeing him.Got a nice RB in mind for RD5 or later. Check out Bruce Anderson, North Dakota State. Another poster turned me onto this athlete. He'd be a solid late round pick. A Foreman and Miller type of RB rolled onto one.

So the question is, did 29 other teams pass on the opportunity? Or was the opportunity never available to them to begin with.Just to be clear, this was a trade.
Of all the offseason dealings, this one hurts the most.
We gave up a 4th round pick from the current draft to bring Demaryius Thomas in with the hope of signing a long term deal.
Jordan Howard was got for a 6th round pick in next year's draft. How could the Texans not see value in that?
So the question is, did 29 other teams pass on the opportunity? Or was the opportunity never available to them to begin with.
I can’t believe the Texans just decided “nah, a 6th round pick is too high for Howard”.
No he hasn't. He has sustained a horrible injury. I'm with you on the part I haven't underlined. You're acting like they are draft prospects. Neither is who they were coming out. Foreman was faster. He has since sustained an horrible injury for a RB. Meanwhile Howard has proven himself in the NFL including busting off a number of long runs, having a nose for the EZ, rarely fumbling & receiving well.

Ex WR turned RB.
I think he has potential to be very good - just needs to learn some technique on his blocking and he will be the complete back.
His stocks are rising fast so he may have to be taken with our 5th rounder to get him.
steelbtexan also put me onto Devin Ozigbo - who also looks like decent late round value.
Looks like his secret is well and truly out - Chicago is eyeing him.
I mentioned wanting him a month or two ago. I'm pretty bummed about the Texans not getting him.I didn’t see many (any?) people on this board pining for Howard in a Texans uniform but now he’s “another one that got away “.

Had a look around and couldn't see one that stated specifically that the Bears were interested in Anderson but did find about half dozen articles from various writers that wrote it up.That video doesn't even mention any draft picks.... random fan free agent rambling. Where are you getting your info?
Looks like it.Did you tag the wrong video b/c they never mentioned RB's in the draft?
Let's remember we are up 3 on FAs bringing three possible third comps for Covington, Badger and Jackson who should all start and have good 2019.
We signed Roby, Boddy-Calhoun, Gipson, & Kalil...
I don't think we're getting compensatory picks.
If I felt the Texans didn’t care about winning it all, there wouldn’t be a chance I would give them the effort of one keystroke. I’m really not sure why you, TK and many others even bother with them. Some orgs that are trying to win Lombardi"s make these moves.
The Texans org not so much.
Philly wins a SB 2 years ago. Suffers injuries last year and are trying to reload for this year.

I’m a skeptic too when it comes to personnel decisions and mode of operations but I at least wait until I see the product on the field before I throw in the towel.
