2015 NFL Conference Championships

Who will be in the 2015 Super Bowl?

Sounds like the only fair way to do it would be to make it an extra period, just like basketball. The team that scores to tie the game would kick off, just like it was between the 1st & 2nd qtr, or the 3rd & 4th qtr.

Let them play for another 15 minutes & whoever wins wins.
That would be great. You could just have it for when the games matter the most as well (the playoffs) - so there are no fatigue issues for the regular season.

In my opinion, hockey playoff overtimes are the best decider of a game in pro-sports. Whilst it is sudden death (obviously both teams have a fair hance to score at the same time) - the war of attrition style play until you are done system is a fitting conclusion to a great game.
Then you would have problems with ties at the end of OT.
Which is solved by another period. If time is an issue, cut the over time periods to 10 minutes, which is going to give both teams at least a possession in pretty much every 10 minute passage of play in the NFL.

Back on topic: the Pats are dominating now! It is going to be a heck of a Superbowl.

ya know I hate the colts well its kinda hard to hate the colts there so nice and there fans are so nice and Luck is like so nice and mr positive all the time

so I think I hate the Pats moreeee because there obvs the KINGS of the AFC

so when it comes down 2 it for the COLTS & Texans & Jags & titans there is only one team standing in our way The PATRIOTS .....

Prepare for two more weeks of the media tossing Tommy Brady's salad.

Hope the Seahawks embarrass him worse than they did Peyton last year.

9 AFC Championship games (NFL Record)

Soon to be 6 Super Bowl appearances (NFL Record)

Possibility for 4 SB Rings (Tied NFL Record)

At some point the dude is deserving of all the hype.

How come when other folks do these short passes its dismissed as "dink and dunk" but when Brady does it, it's devastation?

Say what you want, but they beat both Cincinnati & Denver to get here. They earned the right to play in this game, so I would say they belonged to be there.

My point exactly. They beat an injured Bengals team and an injured Manning. They were, however, never in the same class as New England.

Super Bowl Line: Seahawks -2.5 vs. Patriots (with a total of 48.5) @LVSuperBook. (ht @golfodds)

It only stops when there is 2:00 left in the 1st half and 5:00 left in the 2nd half.

Wuttt... doesn't the clock always stop when u go out of bounds no matter what ...????

o wait are u talking about the 2 min warnings never heard of the clock stop at 5 in the 4th qtr.?????

Probably because he does it effectively.
Also because he has proven he has the other passes in his pocket as well. It isn't as if he is limited to the "dink and dunk" like some QBs appear to be. I think opposition have gotten sick of him using he short game as a proxy for the running game, due to the high completion rate and annoyingness of not being able to lock in on the run game when behind. A guaranteed 7-8 yards on a completion to Welker and the ensuing ticking clock always pissed me off!

He is just as apt at laying a deep ball on stride for his WRs too - just think back to his 200 million TD season with Randy Moss.

why are the colts running the ball have they given up its not like luck or chuck hmmmmm

No, I'm not talking about the two minute warning. When a player goes out of bounds the clock will continue to roll unless there is fewer than two minutes in the first half or five minutes in the fourth quarter.

Truth, both these games would have been terrible if it wasn't for the Seahawks comeback. Not the caliber of games you expect on Championship Sunday.

Still not to late to get in on the poll question. I went with the Seahawks and the Pats. Just a hunch.

Gotta be a tough one for them to take. For all the progress and excitement over Luck they were just miles from being able to compete against the Pats.

Sure playing in Foxboro isn't easy, but I can't see the homefield advantage being worth that many points.

I don't think it would have mattered much, the Pats destroyed them @ Indy too.

Really looking forward to this Superbowl. I like both teams. Gonna have to go with the Pats to bring it home to the AFC.

Imagine the creds Russell Wilson would have if the Seahawks won... he'd have beat the #1 & 2 QBs of our time on the biggest stage.

How can you hate the Patriots? Tom Brady is the best QB to ever play the game. We will never see another one like him in our life time.

Too many loud mouth pompous Patriots fans in my life.

They said the same thing about Montana, Elway, and Marino and here I am...still alive. Watching the next batch of greatest QB's to ever play the game.

Well now Rodgers has a new nightmare to haunt him...
and he probably won't even have to go to sleep to "enjoy" it.

Stat of the morning -- Russell Wilson passer rating:

First 55 minutes 7.0
Last 9 minutes 158.3

Dan Pastorini still has Russell Wilson beat with 5 interceptions in a conference championship game.
:smiliepalm:

Russell Wilson is not a seer, and he did not arrive at CenturyLink Field for Sunday's NFC Championship Game in Doc Brown's DeLorean. Yet the Seattle Seahawks' third-year quarterback does believe fervently in the power of visualization, and last week, as he played through scenarios surrounding his impending showdown with the Green Bay Packers, Wilson spoke like a man who'd gotten a sneak peek at the future.

During a sitdown interview Thursday that would air three days later on "NFL GameDay Morning," Wilson talked excitedly about the prospect of facing presumptive league MVP Aaron Rodgers and a Packers team coming off a dramatic Divisional Round victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

"It's gonna be an all-out battle," Wilson predicted. "It's gonna come down to the fourth quarter. It may go to overtime. I'm expecting something great to happen, some amazing play to win the game, or amazing drive, or a back-and-forth two-minute drill. You know, I look forward to those moments."
