2013 TT Member Mock Draft Discussion

On the clock at 7:00 A.M. Friday

27 57 Houston - Corrosion

28 58 Denver - Senor Stan
29 59 New England - Coon
30 60 Atlanta - Bong
31 61 San Francisco - Wolverine Fan
32 62 Baltimore - Rock-N-Randy

Senor Stan's pick is in with steelb and I (steelb is expected to be here in the AM).

In case you haven't notice, the Mock Draft Resource Thread has a list of players selected so far by position.

You can use it to verify that your pick is not a duplicate.
Make sure you check the total count at the end.
Also, there's a time stamp to let you know the last time the list was updated.)

With the 57th pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Houston Texans select Da'Rick Rodgers WR Tennessee Tech.

My 2nd rated WR in this draft. Great Pick

Now if BoB will only let Gary make this pick.

Well, that was unexpected.

I would be so happy if the draft fell the way Corrosion has drafted.

With that said my pick would've been Da'Rick Rodgers.

Corrosion has definitely added 2 players that would make an immediate impact.

That's what I meant - I saw position, but different player. I can see us taking Swope (great player, good hands, not afraid of contact) but in the 3rd rather than the second. What I can see is that we'd trade back our 2nd... but since we're not doing that, it is what it is. Higher than expected, but two impact players.

With the 58th pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Denver Broncos select Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama

With the 57th pick in the NFL Mock Draft the Houston Texans select Ryan Swope WR Texas A&M

Didnt expect you to get to this point tonight .... I probably needed to re-evaluate my board as some others are still there that I thought would be long gone .... :rake:

I'd have taken Robert Woods Wr USC had I been here to make the selection , thought I'd be on the clock in the morning .... as it said above.

I agree with everything you just said. Rodgers or Patton would of also been fine with me.

With the 60th pick in the TT Mock Draft the Atlanta Falcons select Cornerback, Jamar Taylor, Boise State.

I assume he sent you a list when you announced this pick for Corrosion? Ryan Swope ahead of DaRick Rogers, Quinton Patton, or Robert Woods, etc... is very surprising to put it mildly. That's way overrating Swope.

I had given SteelB a list on for the second round the day before and never got around to updating the list as a couple guy's slipped then sh!t hit the fan yesterday .... My wifes grandfather experienced kidney failure and I was forced away abruptly last night.
I will probably be away most of today as we have to place him in hospice , second family member in the last eight months we'll go thru this with.

To make matters worse , his son suffered a stroke ten days ago and has been in a medically induced coma since as they drilled a hole in his head to relieve the pressure and it became infected. He is a former Aggie offensive lineman .... tho I dont know what years he played.

We've gone several picks beyond mine and my intended target is gone to Coon .... Swope is over valued here - If no one objects I'd like to amend the pick with my second choice of Da'Rick Rodgers who is really my first choice but because of the pot issues I was going to pass on here in favor of Woods.

First of all my sympathies for the family medical issues, I've been there and done that as well and these type of things are never easy. Family comes first and you need to be there for your wife. Prayers sent.

As for changing the pick I don't think there should be a problem with that since Rogers is still available and we haven't gone very far past that pick.

The Broncos need help on the D line and Williams will bring it!

He wasn't able to run at the combine but put up a 4.84/4.92 40 time at 323 lbs. Ran the 3 cone in 7.69.

Didn't play football growing up in Australia until he was 15, so he still has a lot of upside as he learns the game.

Only issue I have with it is that I was hoping Da'Rick would last until my Titans pick in the next round. He could have been smokin' buddies with Kenny Britt!

I say change the pick, the Texans get Da'Rick!!!

Sorry to hear about the family problems. You sure have had a bad run of luck in the past yr. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your wife. Hang in there man.

I will change the pick/ I hope Swope is there for you to pick in the 3rd rd. LOL

I'm going to bed. I PM'd my list to 76Texan for the Kansas City Chiefs pick at the top of the 3rd if we get that far before I get up.

Well, we do need to remember that corrosion was put on the clock at 7:00 AM.
and there are a couple of picks after corrosion, but ahead of Wolverine.

I am somewhat prepared for Cincy's next pick (84) .... Im in a little better shape on the Texans 3rd round picks but thats a fluid situation.

Im heading off to the hospital .... Not sure what time I'll be back or if I will be back today. Dont anticipate reaching any of my pick slots today but on the off chance that you we do , SteelB can give me a call .... and I'll phone in my selections.

yeah , several picks got made last night .... so much for 7-7. Really threw a monkey wrench in my draft plan tho it might all work out anyway.

No worries, I'm here and I'll make my pick in a second.

My board was absolutely demolished with the picks last night so give me a minute to regroup.

The San Francisco 49ers select...

Brandon Williams - NT, Missouri Southern

bwill_display_image.jpg

The 49ers continue to address the Defensive Line with this pick. They lost starting NT Isaac Sopoaga in Free Agency and don't have great depth behind him. They signed Glenn Dorsey to compete at the spot, but he's a better fit as a DE or situational player. They also signed Ian Williams as an UDFA last year, but he's a little undersized.

Williams has the size and the pass rushing ability to be a three-down player at NT for SF. He consistently dominated the lower competition that he faced in college and played very well at the Senior Bowl. The 49ers continue to reload an aging front seven with this pick.

I like him a lot; was hoping that he will last until our third.

I was targeting a few different positions with this pick, but when Jesse Williams was picked I knew I had to pull the trigger. NT is just not as deep as the other positions and Williams has versatility and pass rushing ability.

I like his upside; I don't consider it's a reach at this spot.
If the Texans decide to take him in the second, I'd say it's a reach, but I would be OK with the risk.

Soooooo. . . .

I made that Taylor pick while I was not very sober. I'm not very sure why I picked him over a couple other CB's (Mostly that one dude with the messed up spelled name. Bledhi something).

Was that a proper pick I don't even know lol. I'm pretty sure I picked that guy cause I went through google images to decide who to pick rather than by normal things like height/weight/40 time.

The world champion Baltimore Ravens select in the 2nd round of the NFL Draft...

Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M

Baltimore needs a do it all guy
Swope is a 3 level WR with 4.3 speed and reliable hands
Not as aggressive as Boldin but a willing blocker and a blue collar WR that will fit in nice with flacco rice and smith

Swope can be wide and inside the slot
He can go deep or intermediate or take a screen the distance

This is almost like a 3rd round pick
I do believe Swope is a 2nd round grade prospect
He is worthy of this pick

Protect Flacco, now give him weapons

Make a swap quickly if you're going to do it.
