2013 TT Member Mock Draft Discussion

Yup, he's on the clock with the steelers; what do they need?

A GM?

:corrosion:

Coming up:

18 48 Pittsburgh - Honoring Earl
19 49 New York Giants - htownfan32
20 50 Chicago - Dutchrudder
21 51 Washington - Steel B Texan
22 52 Minnesota - NC Texan
23 53 Cincinatti - Corrosion
24 54 Miami - Texans Seminole
25 55 Green Bay - Mussop
26 56 Seattle - Blake
27 57 Houston - Corrosion
28 58 Denver - Senor Stan
29 59 New England - Coon
30 60 Atlanta - Bong
31 61 San Francisco - Wolverine Fan
32 62 Baltimore - Rock-N-Randy

It's almost 3 hours and he's still not around; they certainly need a GM, that's for sure.

So what do the Steelers need? Anybody knows?

OLB, ILB, S, OG, DE, WR, TE, RB, and a QB to back up Big Ben.

You could throw a dart and hit a need. They have holes all over.

Man, I just check around and looks like they have a lot of hole to fill, LOL.

There's no concensus on what their fans want in the first round.

I see Jonathan Hankins DT, Eric Reed FS/SS, and Robert Woods WR as viable candidates.

To confirm that, I check around and saw that all 3 were mocked in the FIRST round to the Steelers, but more people see Woods in the second.

I think they go with Hankins; my final answer.

What's your vote? Anybody?

A kicker ?! :chickendance:

Once we get done with the vote for Earl shortly after 11, I see several GMs currently on line; I hope we can make up some time then.

Got it, Dutch!

If there's no vote by 11:10 A.M., I will make the selection for Earl as above.
Consider the next team to be on the clock at 11:15 A.M.

With the Steelers losing Hampton I believe Hankins should be the pick.

The Giants are on the clock at 11:15 A.M.
Htownfan32 has been emailed; and he was here earlier.
Pick #49

Pick #50 (Bears) is in.

Doesn't matter if you ask for it or not, huh?!?

At any rate, how long should we take to make the vote for a pick?
What did y'all do last year?

I was suppose to have the Texans last year and then gave them up as I didnt have time for this ... Grandma was in the hospital .... I dont know how they did things in past TT Mocks.

With the Steelers losing Hampton I believe Hankins should be the pick.

I agree with this pick.

I wonder .... with (Usually reliable) people missing picks .... maybe we should just employ the same system the NFL does ?!

If your pick isnt in when your clock expires , the teams behind you pick .... and your pick remains empty until you make a selection ?!? If I recall correctly , we saw a team do this in a recent draft .... who was it ?!? I forget ....

Might need to have a pool of people to take over teams ofthose that flat out quit .... but this would keep the draft honest.

We can put it up for a vote.
Please say yea or nay.

I vote yea.

The draft has gone pretty smoothly so far, Earl got busy and I screwed up the TexanSeminole pick (Sorry about that) but overall things have gone well.

Any ideas on creating a pool? PM me

I was just trying to offer a solution mid stream .... It has gone pretty well so far. I have no complaints with the job you and 76 have done.Im thankful you guy's took on the responsibility , I didnt have time nor want to do it.

I'll take another team "If I have to" .... tho I feel like Ive got my hands full with the two I have already.

Who's on the clock .... Im fading fast. The licker .... errr Liquor is kicking in..... SteelB has my picks up to 57 if Im not around.

If I am here , I'd like to review who's on the board when my picks come up.

I have never been apart of the TT member mock, I am curious to see if my personal big board lines up with the consensus of the board. It's a bit nerdy to my girl, but I have been excited for days.

This

it's a great excercise to get ready for the real draft.

Sorry guys, I was in between Hempstead and Houston.

With their second round pick in the TT Member Mock Draft, the NY Giants select

Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas Pine Bluff

Invest in protection for Eli Manning and invest in the future, because David Diehl is struggling and is probably not the long term solution at tackle for the Giants.

Hell of a pick .... I think he could sneak into the first round. If he had lasted until 57 , it would have been difficult to pass on him for a WR no matter how much the Texans need one.

I like Armstead. I think he has a promising future.

I agree, I want the Texans to jump on it if he lasts to 57.

I think we'll move pretty fast 'til we get to Seminole.
By that time, his day will probably wind down enough.

Eh , everyone down to #62 is usually in and out at some point during the day .... I think we'll make some progress today.

With the 50th pick in the 2013 TT Mock draft, the Chicago Bears select:

Justin Pugh, OG, Syracuse

com_120806_adelsonpugh_120806.jpg

The Bears desperately need help at the guard position, and I think that's where Pugh belongs despite playing some games at LT in college. Jay Cutler has taken a beating every year since he joined the team, and it has taken a toll on him. Pugh is 6-5 306 pounds, and could put on some more weight to become a better mauler in the middle to help the running game, and he can pass protect decently enough. He started every single game for 3 years at Syracuse, so he has a good track record of staying healthy. Hopefully he can start right away at guard and keep Cutler from going into the fetal position.

1.20 - Xavier Rhodes, CB
2.21 - Justin Pugh, OG

NCTexan was here 23 minutes ago; he'll probably check back soon.

Corrosion and Nole are in the building .
So is Mussop.

With the 52nd selection the Vikings will select Sylvester Williams, DT, UNC.

Some may see this as early for Williams, but I'm glad he made it here. Though there's a little UNC homer in this pick, Williams will do good on the 4-3 the Vikings run. They need serious help up front, and between Williams and Minter I feel the Vikings have now solidified their front 7. These two will hopefully take heat off the secondary as well.

Depending on how the Texans go in the first, I think David Amerson is a 2nd rounder as a safety and would be a solid pick.

Would definately have been on my board had the Texans not signed Ed Reed .... with Reed in the fold tho , the safety position isnt nearly the need it is without him. They do need another Safety as none of us want .... Keo anywhere near the field accept on special ed .... errr special teams.

:bubbles:

I actually considered Amerson as a first rounder in a mock a couple months back .... tho I believe I went with Trufant in that mock ..... its been a while.

I think it was Mayock who said that Amerson could sneak into the first.

He seems to me a very solid second rounder.
This is probably a good spot for him.

Even if it's a reach, I think it would only be a slight reach, which means it's really not a reach. Probably a good spot for Sly.
