2010 Texans Schedule

I strongly speculate that the McNabb trade, along with possibly the Santonio Holmes trade has the league considering changing their primetime games. This could be the reason why the league has been so non-committal on a schedule release date.

Computer generate this sucker in two seconds according to the formula. Ain't hard. This primetime crap is wearing thin on me. Flex more games if you want but let's start some computer generating here.

I think they are finding it difficult to balance the schedules now that they are ending the season with divisional games. Basically, it's a new formula. Also, since they are putting the emphasis on divisional games, other "fairness" concerns probably crept in. For instance, one AFC south team having a bye in week 3 and then another in week 10... or, things like 3 game road trips. Or, having divisional foes meet in December with one team getting 7 days off and the other playing on Monday night on the week before.

Random thought: What other sport do people freak out about when the schedule comes out? lol

What other professional sport has a 16 game season? What I am getting at, is that every game matters even moreso than basketball or baseball because there's a big difference between 15-1 and 80-1. Also, the NFL is the most watched and profitable league in the country, so it's automatically going to be given a higher priority than the other sports.

There are those that like to forecast their vacation and spend in advance. With the Texans having eight away games and most of them being played on Sunday it is a luxury to know the actual dates.

Personally, I am not freaking out, but I am hoping that the Denver game is in December so I can plan a boarding trip around the game. :snobord:

The Redskins-Eagles series in 2010 just got really big, especially the game in
Philly obviously because the McNabb trade is such a compelling story.
And it's probably not a simple thing to change a teams schedule when you consider many of these NFL stadiums are leased to multiple-type users with a
variety of event types scheduled with long lead times in many cases.

What??? Link?

It's only a possibility, not a sure thing. At least that what I think "Potentially" and "considering" mean.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- In an effort to have teams use their top players through the final games of the season, the NFL is considering making the last week -- and possibly weeks -- consist of all divisional matchups.

"Potentially, Week 17 will all be divisional games," commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday during his closing remarks at the NFL Annual Meeting. "That will address this to some extent. It will not necessarily eliminate the issue."

Hoping for some home 3pm games, but, doubt that will happen. I'm probably the only one here who doesn't like Sunday or Monday night games, unless they are away games, but, such is life. I'll take whatever National coverage we can get.

Commissioner says that all week 17 games will be divisional matchups. Should make thing a little more interesting

I wish they could come out with the schedule alot sooner. I have some vacationing to plan and make sure my work schedule doesn't interfere with my Texans games.

I'm with you on the Sunday and Monday night games. Its a pain for me living in Beaumont. After a Monday Night game, I don't get home until after midnight and then up the next morning for work.

Another team that will be seriously challenged to make the playoffs will be the Houston Texans. Under plenty of pressure last season, the Texans finally made it over the top. The former expansion team had its first winning season and Schaub threw for 4,770 yards and moved into the elite class of quarterbacks.

The Texans and the Titans are tied with the toughest schedules in the league in 2010, a .547 schedule that for Houston is .043 harder than last year. Potentially, that could take the Texans from 9-7 to 7-9, but the key is division play. The Texans went 1-5 in the AFC South and 8-2 against the rest of the league. With games against the tough NFC East and tough nondivision games against the Baltimore Ravens and Jets, it may be hard to go 8-2 in the nondivision games to reach .500.

We would have been at least 11-5 if it wasn't for a certain kicker. I don't buy into that BS. There's not one game on this schedule we can toss in as a guaranteed loss.

Week 17 is all divisional games, so what? Why isn't week 1 all divisional games? It's just silly to think it means anything in the long run. In order for these games to be meaningful, they have to be, well, meaningful. Most games in week 17 aren't.

Everyone's putting all of this emphasis on how our schedule is the toughest in the league, but no one seems to realize how much the Colts inflate that stat by playing a 14-2 team twice. We know we match up well with them(winning is a different story), but other than that, our schedule isn't as brutal as it could have been. For all we know, the Colts could really start falling off, as well as these other teams we play.

I don't buy into it. We will kick some ass and take names this season.:fans:

Absolutely a brutal Tuesday for us Austin folk too but I'm ok with it. I'm my own boss at work so it's all good.

Unless someone pulls a tanya harding on Peyton, I dont think there falling off.

I don't know why people are so excited about week 17 being a division game. Seeing as how the team is consistently horrible in division play I can't get excited about it.

On the strength of scheulde, note that both the entire NFC East and AFC South are in the top 10. Essentially the teams with the so-called toughest schedules and playing the other teams the toughest schedules. Guessing by the the end of the season, the eight team in 10 spot grouping will be split apart quite a bit.

Saw in another forum someone post the Texans schedule so he says he got inside news so it might be true then again it might be false..

I don't really want to post it unless some of yall want me to.
