I will be gobsmacked! I really liked this youngster in 2023 before he wiped out his season in the injury. I think he could be steal of the draft.Luke Lachey TE Iowa
YesNext UDFA tracker.
Don't diss UDFA wasn't Arian Foster this?
And he was super slow tooMan Tez Johnson only weighed in at 154 pounds! That's crazy light. I can't even remember the last time I weighed that much.. middle school maybe
Yes and hope we can find another player like him.Next UDFA tracker.

My guess is they have a board, and they the draft off that board. That board probably looks nothing like any draftniks' boards. If you build your board based on your needs AND "good football players", then it looks to you like you're just picking the best player off your board regardless of need.I love this draft…but if NC says he doesn’t draft for need he has a damn funny way of showing it.
So were Wes Welker, James Harrison, Antonio Gates, Tony Romo and Kurt Warner.Next UDFA tracker.

I'm giving some expert opinion and advice here. The Houston Texans' history of draft picks has been mediocre and average AT BEST. The File Clerk, aka the Master Trader is no Eliot Wolf or Les Snead. This is just stating the obvious, unless of course, you are a regular customer who dines at the 1-star Caserio Cafe where OBVIOUS is not on the menu. I do hear they serve up some marvelous Kool-Aid, though.
Caserio drafted guys like tank Dell, Anderson(traded his own pick to do so), stroud(didn’t fall for bryce young), Stingley, found bullock and traded down and got Lassiter, drafted Nico in the 3rd who is now a top 10 wr, did well on the Deshaun trade, got Danielle Hunter to come here, got Mixon for nothing, Kenyon green was bad but got cjgj out of it, and still has a nice haul for next year’s draft picks too while winning a playoff game the last two years. He also got demeco to cosch here after having two lame duck coaches. He’s really turned this team aroundI'm giving some expert opinion and advice here. Blake Fisher, Juice Scruggs, Paterson... you ready to move on?At this point it is no more than a hope and a wish for the Oline. Despite the previous coaching factor, there are too many obvious weak points in several of the Olinemen we are keeping from last season. Weaknesses that I don't believe will be able to be compensated by new coaching.
I totally agree with you. It’s like your body needs certain nutrients from certain foods. The need is primal. But you also happen to like that food so by acquiring it you just think you are eating something that you really think tastes good.My guess is they have a board, and they the draft off that board. That board probably looks nothing like any draftniks' boards. But they dumped 3 out of 5 "starters"They have basically said the OL issues were scheme and not talent related with their moves this offseason. Quite the black mark on Slowik’s resume. If the Fins fold this year, he’s gonna be coaching at an FCS school at this rate.
But they dumped 3 out of 5 "starters"
Schematic?
If BPA, why Higgins over Emmanwori or even over Burden? Other than some on this message board, almost every mock I saw had both of those guys over Jaden Higgins. We could probably do that pic by pic. Best player available always sounds dynamic and correct and no one wants to think their team has dire needs. I don't care what Nick calls it as long as he keeps on producing as he has the last two drafts and looks like 20 25 draft also, for the most part. There was disagreement in 2024 draft if Lassiter or Bullock should have been chosen at their spot. As season progressed, we all became very happy that they were selected. My guess is they have a board, and they the draft off that board. That board probably looks nothing like any draftniks' boards. Can we put all undrafted free agents in a separate thread: if possible one for Texans only and the others for an NFL thread? Perhaps Keep it to the ones that have been signed and not our wanna be'sm
We've all got different opinions about who is better. They're able to see these players up close & talk to them.If BPA, why Higgins over Emmanwori or even over Burden? Other than some on this message board, almost every mock I saw had both of those guys over Jaden Higgins
Not Fisher.........he needs time to develop. But if Scruggs doesn't get stronger and Paterson doesn't have a better healthy start to the year, and Zach Thomas doesn't get better than last year, I have no problem moving on from them early in the year.Blake Fisher, Juice Scruggs, Paterson... you ready to move on?
Come on TK. You know Green was horrible mostly because of injuries and some scheme. Mason was because of aging out and cost factors. Tunsil was primarily because of him wanting an extension. As much as we despised his penalties, 2024 was nothing new just the first couple of games were focused on by refs. But they dumped 3 out of 5 "starters"

And to see if they meet our needs which is positional and cultureWe've all got different opinions about who is better. They're able to see these players up close & talk to them.
I agree but Scruggs needs more than strength as he needs to set the line and pick up stunts. Patterson should be healthy. If not, who's our center? I guess long snapper or hunt up FA?Not Fisher.........he needs time to develop. Much easier to keep up with. Thanks

--Inconsistent in recognizing and picking up stunts, twists, and delayed blitzes, potentially leaving the pocket vulnerable to interior pressure.Who knows if this guy even makes the squad???? Definitely interesting. Was an All-SEC player.

I don't draft for need and just take bpa is a a fallacy all GMs tell their fans. GMs do both. If there's a damn good player that fits a need at their spot, they'll pull the trigger, and if not they'll pull the trigger on best value. Every smart GM does both, I don't know why fans get so hung up on this every year, and I don't know why GMs get so defensive about it either. If BPA, why Higgins over Emmanwori or even over Burden? I am pretty sure that it was out before the draft. I saw an article, didn't read it just read the title. And it said "Why Sanders visit with the Giants went south" and another "Sanders interview with the Giants tanked" judging by the titles, 3 days before the draft, I think the cat was out of the bag. Whoever was writing the articles had a source that was in the know. And they must have written something that had teams rethinking drafting him. So, IMO the source must have been reliable and teams called the Giants (likely other teams also) who talked to him and found out what had happened.Wow. Was this being said in media or by a source you know?
Edit: Never mind, I see you said "from what I've been told." I'm just surprised that didn't already leak out, though I'm sure it will now.
