Undisciplined

What's the history of the guy? Azeez the sneeze has receipts going back to SF. The Titans let him walk for a reason. He's a loose cannon. Do we really want a guy like this? You know he's going to now be looked at by every ref. You can say it's wrong, but it's human nature. He won't be able to snap a finger at a guy without a flag being pulled.

What's infuriating is DeMeco and St. Nicky the tricky defending it, and blaming the QB? You don't think the NFL/Refs see and hear that? Pathetic responses from those two. Pissed at both.

Look at the photo I linked above.
Hey dude you and old buddy have made up your minds. So there’s no need to talk to me on this one. Both of y’all are dead fn wrong period.

The GOAT has spoken.

The slide needs to be removed as a way to give up. It really seems to put the player in harms way more than it doesn't. Just have the QB or player tap their helmet and the play immediately stops, that way the player will still be on their feet and can alter their path or run away from a player still running towards them.......

This would be a great idea right here.

How is an opinion wrong? One not only backed up by video evidence, but by the NFL, who sets the rules. So, if I'm wrong, so is the NFL. It's their game, and they set the rules last time I looked.

IF you don't like the rules, that's one thing. But to say he didn't flagrantly violated the rules is a badass case of gaslighting. Carry on.

I had just copied from X and planned to post it but you guys are too quick.

The suspension is warranted. And I agree with anyone saying this coaching staff isn’t holding players accountable. For anything it seems. Tunsil and Al-Shaair are poster children for this.
Wow, I thought your post was from Slowik at first.
"I got a plan off twitter but the defense was too quick"...

Well, there is only so much square footage on that particular piece of ground.

You're right. I don't understand why you need to post this over 50 times, but you're right. Al-Shaair gave a dirty hit and he (and his team) have been punished severley. But fake slides in the past have occurred and are in some defenders minds. And while Lawrence's slide was not too late, it was late. Could and should Al-Shaair have broke off the tackle and not led with a forearm? Yes and yes.

Hasn't this been litigated enough? The punishment has been laid out. There's nothing more to learn here.
Hasn't this been litigated enough? What? Go read the old DeShaun Watson thread and then get back with me.

Ok - I wasn’t going to be the guy that brought it up, but Watson served 11 games for sexually assaulting 20+ women.

So a 3 game suspension for concussing a qb, having prior fines and not getting off the field fast enough is equivalent to 25% of Watson’s suspension.

So one could say an NFL player will get a 3 game suspension for every 5 women he sexually assaulted.

But if you are involved in a hit and run and hurt multiple people you can keep on playing.

Makes sense.

Wonder what the suspension would have been if he would have just kept his helmet on and left the field when ejected?

"After the illegal hit, you proceeded to engage in a brawl, which you escalated when you pulled an opponent down to the ground by his facemask. After the referee announced that you were disqualified for the hit and your unsportsmanlike acts, you removed your helmet and reengaged with your opponent while walking down and across the field, which started another physical confrontation near the end zone.
"Your lack of sportsmanship and respect for the game of football and all those who play, coach, and enjoy watching it, is troubling and does not reflect the core values of the NFL. … Your continued disregard for NFL playing rules puts the health and safety of both you and your opponents in jeopardy and will not be tolerated."

Has anyone else noticed how in this suspension the NFL is directly talking to Azeez in specific detail? Has that ever been done before? I don’t recall the 16 pages report of Watson’s suspension going at Watson that hard like Azeez did to Lawerence.

And I don't see this having the Texans fall apart as a poster says, actually, I see a rallying moment for the team, more than any players only meeting could do. One for all. By the way, I was on the one game and hefty fine as he already lost 1/2 game too
And in my opinion, this is what Ryans is trying to accomplish. Nick is saying whatever he is told to.

Lots of hypocrisy and gaslighting in this thread. If a LB launched his full weight and used forearms like a club on CJ, the chatter here would be a 180. At least own your hypocrisy. And tell us your gaslighting instead of pretending.

As to the punishment, it’s well-deserved and appropriate. It’s two things - multiple repeat offender and the launch/use of forearms with no attempt to pull off or lessen the hit. In fact it was the exact opposite. Let’s be real - he meant to deliver that blow. He’s just an an incredibly stupid undisciplined player. I already stated what I would do - he would be looking for work elsewhere.

Instead, Jolly St. Nick comes in and does a drive by gaslighting and fake outrage episode. I never knew he could act. There appears to be a growing culture of entitlement over on Kirby. Not only not holding guys/coaches accountable, but defending them,

And we wonder why this team will still be wandering the desert for the next 40 years like the Israelites. When the standard is set low, you get a low standard. It’s simple math. Wash - Rinse - Repeat
Ok... but I thought you said we were not supposed to call players stupid?

Where does the repeat offender stuff come from? Is it just his punch from earlier this season or is there more from prior seasons?
There is a post in this thread to answer your question. I think three previous unsportsmanlike calls in this season not including the one where a flag was not thrown for hitting out of bounds and two more from 2023 season.

It's pretty remarkable. In all sports, the ultimate result of the play is what apparently determines the intent and the punishment. It's insane.
Well if you shoot someone, and that person dies, the punishment is more than if they live.

You are comparing what Watson did to Al-Shaair?

He tapped his head? I swear I did not see that before I knocked him on his

Absolutely right when Stephen A calls Demeco’s response stupid before the suspension was even known. The fanboys I’m sure will have their feelings hurt.

LOL. This ain't the guy you go to if you're trying to win an argument.

I thought the Texans brass didn't handle this very well. I get being upset about it being 3 games. That was a little excessive. I've seen worse get far less, so Nicky C is right in that it's bullshit about being consistent. I thought Meco throwing some shade on the Jags for retaliating was a little overboard. The next time Stroud gets popped and the Texans retaliate it's going to look bad on them, and it will look worse, IMO, if they don't retaliate. It's dumb to get an offsetting penalty and get thrown out of the game, but it's human nature to go defend your teammate when you feel like he was targeted.

As for Azeez, as I've said, it was a tough situation to try to stop yourself from going full speed and hitting a QB that suddenly dropped to slide like that, but shit happens. Throw the flag, give 'em 15 and play ball. The problem came when he led with the forearm trying to decapitate the dude, whether he made it to the head/neck area or not. That's not how you play tackle football in the 21st century. Agree or disagree with the way it's played now, it is played like it is now and everybody knows that. An idiotic decision on his part, but I don't think that makes him a dirty player. That said, maybe he is, I don't know. Didn't know the dude until he came here.

Though the case is strong for a suspension, I think 3 games is excessive and I don't think the NFL should bring past discrepancies into the decision, especially when what he's done in the past has had no suspensions attached to them. I mean, if he's been suspended multiple times for the same offense, then yeah, the past matters, but that's not the case here.

I get the NFL wanting it out of the game, but when it happens again, and it will, soon, then everybody better start getting 3 games because if they don't then it comes off as targeting the Texans, for whatever reason, and the NFL penalty committee continues to look like the buffoons they are.

I think one thing is for certain though. Next years Texans/Jags series should be interesting.

Excuses for the off-season:
If Fairbairn had just made that 29 yarder.

If Slowik could devise a second half game plan.

If Al-Shaair...
If Christian Harris hadn't disappeared into the Twilight Zone.

If Hannah hadn't pulled Amy Sistrunk.

If I hadn't expected so much.

Maybe I should create a thread?

Ok... but I thought you said we were not supposed to call players stupid?

He is playing and acting stupidly. He isn't personally stupid. I'm not saying "dude isn't smart enough to be an NFL player".

I'm saying, in the heat of battle, he is making dumb decisions and acting stupidly. HUGE difference.

Hypocrisy?

Have you met the poster that keeps calling a black NFL player stupid, even dumb as a caveman but throws out allegations of racism when another poster says Demeco may not be smart enough to be a head coach because he keeps making the same mistakes or can’t fix the mistakes everyone else sees?

Because it’s crazy that he can’t see his own hypocrisy of the racism that is seeped into his own comments of calling a black football player stupid repeatedly and compares the player to being dumb as a cavemen. But I bet it’s no coincidence that the poster is now bringing “wandering like Israelites in the desert” into the conversation when Azeez is a supporter of Palestinian human rights.

You should meet him sometime. Y’all would have a blast.

Maybe you should tell him to apologize to the poster he blasted as being racist when he wasn’t. Because that was effed up.

So not a whole lot then. This was a bad hit and was punished accordingly. I still don’t see where all the talk about repeat offender comes from.

Not a chance. Not one single chance. No hypocrisy here. See my response to BadBoy, not to mention there's no history with black LB's. Apple meet Pear.

Man you’re not stating no darn opinion. You’re crucifying the young man for a mistake he made. Did you do this with Andre Johnson or Brian Cushing? How about Sue or Haynesworth? I posted a player taking out Flacco last season and the response was, he’s not a repeat offender.

He tapped his head? I swear I did not see that before I knocked him on his
That's why this could work, the player would be on their feet and be able to retreat or move and not get hit as hard....... but the refs would have seen the helmet tap, blow the whistle and run to protect the player and the ball will be spotted where the tap occurred.

Helmet taps?!?!?! Man… after seeing AR5 do it and now yall discussing it as an option to notify refs. Please… lewve it alone. It means “SLOW DOWN, COP AHEAD”
