Game Day: Texans vs Ravens - Divisional Playoff Round

I feel exactly opposite. This offensive line could not handle the Ravens DL period. Not on Slowick. Rather lose this game than lose him, there is work to be done, especially in the running game, better blocking, pass pro and eliminating these pesky false starts (6 false starts 1st half and several more 2nd half) in all 11 penalties total & 70 yards.

Now THAT is a take I can get behind. Kudos.

But if you remember we weren't flying. We were flying right up to the red zone and then ended up not even getting 3 points out of that. I'd say not scoring anything there was what killed the momentum. That drive was going and it looked like to me that the Texans had finally gotten something figured out but then nothing. On the surface entering halftime tied 10-10 seemed like a victory of sorts but 3's instead of 7's and in that case nothing instead of even 3 just killed us.

Well, defensively and also on the momentum of the special teams TD.

offense was dead all game. Only thing that we did well was that 3rd and whatever chunk play and that literally only one nice run by Singletary finally. Most everything else was worthless. Guess that's what happens when you commit trillions of presnap penalties, have only two people who can catch the ball, no offensive line or run game to speak of.

Normally I'd say the same, but I just don't want anymore of the Kansas City Swifts on my TV.

Yeah I don't care about old Houston grudges against the Bills. Allen flops a lot but I'd rather have the Bills any day than the prospect of seeing a Super Bowl involving KC again with their greatest roster improvement being Taylor ******* Swift. That broadcast would be the most insufferable broadcast of all time.

Singletary got the ball running what 10-12 times? Defensively they’re not special…they’re just a front running defense..kinda like Philly was last year. There were plays there to be made and due to false starts, & dropped passes drives just stalled. You expect to see that with young teams like us. More veteran teams I’m not so sure u get that.

Why do you have to ruin it for everyone else?

Dallas, Tennessee and Cleveland I hate most. And in that order. :)

Patriots/Jacksoffville/Tits/Raiders probably for me. With general Cowboys/Redskins hatred. Seattle too but now that that truther loser Carroll is no longer coaching, maybe that changes.

same ol texans ... we choke hard in the big game not even close should of been 34-3 can we of least have a decent game is 21-31 to much to ask going into the 4th ..??? ....o well try agian next year

Buck and Aikman saying unable to handle this crowd noise as if the Texans haven't had the same issues all ******* year.

Tunsil gotta get cut just for the yearly false starts alone ...enough is enough id rather have a average tackle that has less pentiles then LT tbo

I walk away from this game with 2 things

Stroud got punked

Nico ain't a 1
Stroud got humbled, I wouldnt say punked. While it sucks as a fan for tge moment.

Its how he reacts to it that matters. If handled correctly... it could be a very good thing in the long run... that simply sucks today.

As for supporting cast, I didn't believe they were amazing. Simply elevated by the one at QB. He needs help

His worst game of year. And Nico no call no show

Give glory and take glory

I'm not giving up on Stroud but he didn't do anything.
He looked like Dak today

I’d agree with u if he was passing the ball downfield under pressure.. he wasn’t doing that in the 1st half. His coordinator made the adjustment for him to hit a check down when there was pressure shown. That doesn’t prove anything other than he can hit a check down.
Exactly why I said the coordinator made adjustments, he was getting pressured before his wrs were even out of breaks sometimes, demaco was bottling up monken in that first half, It's 2024 the guy is a 2x mvp, 2x first team all pro, has an afc apperance under his belt and think he can't throw?

you wouldn't have said Stroud got punked after the first half.
I put more of it on Slowik it then I do CJ. In fact I put the blame of this loss more on the coaches than to do the players.
He was less than average whole game. Take away a punt return and this game is way worse. I wanted to see him against this D
The Cleveland D was better at home than on the road.

This was his test. Didnt go well at all

I will say seemed one time made adjustments at half

This new and improved LJ8 didn’t handle the pressure well.

any qb can hit a check down man if his coordinator tells him to do it. A guy with his experience & credentials, should’ve been able to handle pressure better than he did. The **** he was doing in the 1st half I would’ve expected Stroud to do that…drifting back back back throwing off his back foot. He looked effectively lost in that 1st half. That doesn’t look like a guy that’s completely comfortable passing the ball.

And a average tackle would cost a helluva lot less.. We have to draft a tackle high again this year, because our other over priced tackle isn't cutting the mustard either.

I thought he played okay. He was under constant pressure, but didn't take any sacks or turn the ball over. Anytime we seemed to start stringing something together on offense we'd have a stupid penalty or negative running play to set us back. Against a defense of that caliber you can't constantly do that and expect to win.

I get that but he didn't make a single play. He was normal.

I'm a fan and today I realized he wxc

When against a good team

Wah wah

-Infinite amount of false starts by the OL killing drives

-Dumb trick plays called at the wrong time

- Not challenging the obvious first down where Singletary rolled on top of the defender

- Not playing fast and uptempo enough as they started picking up yards when they did.

-Running multiple times up the middle against that defense

It appears you did not watch the game.

Exactly.
This one was not on CJ or anyone else on the Texans team for that matter.

Yeah and your right on the mostly everything

Yet CJ was far below average.

He got to see pro ball today.

And you can't argue that.

It was fun while it lasted but the season is now over. Once the Ravens found a way to run the ball with players besides LJ scrambling it was a rout.

That is two of the last three games this run defense got demolished. Luckily against the Colts, Taylor got banged up to help slow that down. But the stats lie. This run defense needs help. When teams commit to running the ball, it tends to work out for them. Even the Panthers got going on their drive to end the game earlier in the season to put the Texans away.

Offense was clearly overmatched and the conditions helped take away the deep ball that was CJ’s bread and butter all season. But that is going to be expected when playoff football time comes. Have to get the horses around him to produce despite it all. Find that dynamic RB. Find that OL that doesn’t get pantsed and have him running for his life. Get difference makers!
