Be assured that if the Browns fail this season, it will always be someone else's fault..........

Joy Taylor Sends A Clear Message To Deshaun Watson, Browns
By Ernesto Cova August 31, 2023 @ejcovap

The Cleveland Browns made a huge investment to get Deshaun Watson.

They traded multiple valuable assets and then doubled down on that investment by giving him a huge contract extension, all despite the fact that he had been away from the game and was
expected to be suspended.

As much as his struggles last season were reasonable and even expected, the same simply cannot happen this season.

That’s why sports analyst Joy Taylor believes there’s no more room for excuses, errors, or shortcomings; the Browns must be amongst the league’s elite teams next season.

Talking on “Speak” on FS1, Taylor explained that most of this roster was there when Baker Mayfield led them to a playoff win, so the expectations cannot be the same now that they have a better player at the quarterback position.

She pointed out the fact that Watson is in a better position now roster-wise and coaching-wise than he was in Houston, so they should expect similar — or even better — production.

Taylor claims that the Browns are paying Watson that much money to be a legit Super Bowl contender, not just to win some games or barely make the playoffs.

And while that could be a lot to ask of most teams in the league right now, she might be right on point here.

The Browns have one of the highest-earners at the QB position, so they need him to deliver as such.

Not making the playoffs again would be a catastrophe with this roster.

My hope is if Watson is good the team continues to have a poor season.

My concern is if Watson plays as he did last season the team wins.

Rich Eisen Predicts Browns’ AFC North Finish This Season
By Ernesto Cova
August 31, 2023 @ejcovap

The Cleveland Browns have gone to great lengths to improve their team ahead of the upcoming campaign, adding big pieces on both sides of the field.

Nonetheless, regardless of GM Andrew Berry’s solid job, most analysts and pundits still have plenty of doubts about how this team might fare next season.

That includes Rich Eisen, who recently predicted the Browns to finish fourth in their division.

Cleveland Browns latest Deshaun Watson decision is absolutely classless
The Cleveland Browns elevated Deshaun Watson to team captain, which is an awful look given his history of sexual assault allegations.
By Mark Powell | Aug 31, 2023

Deshaun Watson enters a critical first full season as Cleveland Browns starter as a team captain.
Yes, Kevin Stefanski and Cleveland are going all-in on Watson, despite some of the public outcry about acquiring him in the first place.

Watson was suspended for the first 10 games of last season due to dozens of sexual assault allegations. While the majority of those have been settled, it was a relative surprise that Cleveland gave Watson a league-record contract in fully-guaranteed money (at the time). By making him team captain, the Browns are doubling down on a questionable choice.

"Deshaun, it's very, very natural for him to lead," Stefanski said. "And I think he's comfortable leading from out in front. I think he's comfortable from leading and letting his teammates get credit. That's just something he's always done his whole life. And just the way he's integrated himself into this football team is impressive to watch."

Cleveland Browns make Deshaun Watson a team captain

When they acquired Watson via trade, the Browns made it clear that his talent far exceeded the risk that came with the allegations against him. Yes, we are a country of second chances, but Watson's financial slap on the wrist for dozens of heinous allegations doesn't really qualify as punishment.

When revealing the decision to make Watson captain, Stefanski was careful to ensure he only commented on Deshaun's time in Cleveland, and his supposed growth as a person.

"From the moment he got here until now," Stefanski said of Watson, "just seeing how he's gotten to know everybody on his team, how he pushes them, how he motivates them, I think you're seeing a lot of examples of high-quality leadership from Deshaun in particular."

Teams naming their starting QB a team captain is to be expected in the modern NFL, even in Watson's case. It doesn't make this any less disgusting, though.

Anybody know any reputable witch doctors? I could think of several ancient curses that would suit the Browns well.

Coaches, GMs, ball boys.

Trying to get their money's worth, I suppose?

I wish our OhioState Homer would keep us this up to date about Stroud.
I'm not sure he has the time. I Really don't know why I peeked in this thread. It's kind of funny. Posters in this thread probably follow Watson more closely now than they did when he was in Houston. If this level of scrutiny was done when he was here, we could have probably found out about his perversions sooner. On that note, exiting stage left.

Very interesting commentary the 2nd half of the video, with criticisms of his passing game we had when he was in Houston.

Why, people need to be reminded regularly what a POS this guy is.

Don't say anything and people will forget. He may have beat the system, but he can still be held accountable in the court of public opinion.

newsflash buddy he’s already “gotten away” it…whatever in the hell that means..

and what does it make you that you & others keep on with the crap?

There are a whole lot of other CURRENT POS you can direct your efforts towards..1 of which has a televised trial going on in the state of Texas. Go start a thread about him.

you tout your relationship with god as being a centerpiece of your life…maybe u should tap into that relationship regarding this….

Deshaun Watson sent clear message about performance by coach
"That’s a huge part of what we do."

Unexpected rainy conditions marred the offenses in the Week 1 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns.

The Browns dominated the Bengals, 20-3, but it did so without getting much from franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson in the passing game.

Watson completed 16 of his 29 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown. He also threw a baffling interception.
But Watson also aided his team on the ground, taking five carries for 45 yards, including a 13-yard audible run for a touchdown right before the end of the first half.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the Browns will feature Watson in the run game depending on the week and momentum within the game.

“I think if you look at [Sunday], Deshaun made a play on the first third down, scrambled, and made a first down,” Stefanski said Monday, according to Pro Football Talk. “He had made plays on designed runs. He made plays just by carrying out his fakes. You’re going to watch on some of those runs where [with] him carrying out his fakes, a lot of the defense is aware of his ability with the ball in his hand.

“So, that’s a huge part of what we do. Whether it’s by design, whether it’s off schedule, whether it’s a third-down scramble, whether it’s a first-and-10, quarterback-designed run, all of that is part of who we are. I think the game and the different game plans and those types of things will determine how often that occurs.”

Still, Stefanski knows there is room for Watson to improve as a thrower, though it remains unclear how much of his pedestrian performance could be attributed to the slippery weather conditions.

The article states that last year Cooper sustained a hip injury and underwent core muscle surgery. He was operated upon by Dr. Meyers in Phillidelphia (someone I've known for years). He does no "hip surgery." This was a "sports hernia" repair. Sports hernias commonly create pain in the hip. This recent "groin" injury is most likely an adductor tendon tear which is commonly associated with the sports hernia. If he has continued problems with this, he will likely require surgical release of the tendon.

["Athletic pubalgia" is the technically correct nomenclature for the lay term "sports hernia."]

Amari Cooper questionable for Monday night after aggravating groin injury
By Michael David Smith
Published September 16, 2023 02:02 PM

Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper may not be able to go on Monday night against the Steelers.

Cooper aggravated a groin injury at practice today and the Browns will have to monitor him over the next 48 hours before deciding if he can play, head coach Kevin Stefanski said.

Last season Cooper played through a hip injury, and in the offseason he had surgery for a core muscle injury. He’s the Browns’ No. 1 receiver and would be a big loss, but Stefanski said the Browns are confident they can adjust if they have to.

The Browns officially listed Cooper as questionable on their injury report and also listed free safety Juan Thornhill (calf) and defensive tackle Siaki Ika (foot) as questionable.

Yes he did.

You just want this to go away and others want to remind everybody what a POS he is. Deal with it. Your hero is a pervert. This is like an unofficial child sex offenders list. Nothing wrong with this.

When have I touted my relationship with God? That's Dejaview that tried to besmirch my character using my belief in God. Are you trying to do the same thing because you dont like how posters are referring to your guy? This just in as long as Derrick's in the NFL this isn't going away. Particularly since the Texans will be picking based on how Derrick does this yr.

you besmirch your character every time you post idiotic stuff like this…which is all the time. It might be too hard to ask b/c it’s you, but how about you grow up.

Great response.

What does keeping everybody reminded that the former QB/Sexual Predator beat the rap have to do with growing up?

Nope, not a chance I just let this die quietly. Particularly with the Texans picking with the Browns pick in next yrs draft.

You can say whatever you feel about me and know that I still respect your knowledge, but I'm not going to change and I think you've got a blindspot when it comes to this POS. Truth is you're a fan of his and always have been. I get this.

The hypocrisy amazes me. One could very easily argue that what Jalen Carter did was far worse and far more dangerous to others lives…but he gets a 100% total pass. I mean hasn’t everyone street raced, gone way over the speed limit and driven recklessly? Who among us hasn’t done that? Leave the guy alone, he was young and dumb.

But with Watson, it’s like the sermon on the mount. Ye shall never be young, dumb, and full of *** and ask another to touch ye improperly. Off with his head.

Carter didn't use his fame to take advantage of the less fortunate.

So, you can kill act in reckless disregard for other's lives as long as you don't use your fame?

Interesting take.
He didn't make that girl race him.

This is a personal responsabilty issue for the girl and her passengers. IMHO
