Post Game Week 1: Working it out.. my frustration!

a rookie that made a few really nice throws, but with this makeshift Oline he’s seeing the speed of the NFL coming right for him!

Doesn’t seem to be real quick with his feet and that may be a big factor why his play suffers once he’s scrambling.

I’d like to see a lot more quick throws to start setting up the longer developing plays.

I agree with you on the D. They looked really good. They were gassed by mid 3rd quarter due to the Saints holding onto the ball. But IF we can get more 3 and outs or turnovers. That will help them stay fresh. Also in some cases depth for a player to get a breathe and the Saints took advantage of the 2nd string while starts got a little breather. CJ Stroud looked good vs a solid D. He needs to work on throwing the ball away or taking a sack in the pocket instead of running 20yrds backwards. However, I think he will learn it pretty fast. Will Anderson "The Terminator was living up to his draft position with good pocket pressure and he had 1 sack. Which puts him in the 17 for the year area. He just needs to get use to the speed and work on the "freak" ability he has shown in college.

I think OL is a huge issue still as well as a WR if Nico, Tank, Woods and Hutchinson don't start getting more open.

One thing CJ is going to learn quickly is stop retreating, it only makes the play worse.

That stuff works in college, but those guys on Sunday are super fast, especially those dline guys. We've seen qbs who could straight run get tracked down. CJ has good mobility, but not going to be like Lamar or Fran Tarketon. He's more of Elway or young Rodgers in terms of mobility

I wouldn't say he doesn't have mobility because he does. But he's nowhere near the level of athlete Elway/Rodgers were at the same stages of their careers.

He might even be called smart for the 1st time in his life if he was to do this. This is exactly why I said it's going to take time for Stroud to learn.

Am I allowed to have an opinion.

It's not my intent to talk down about Stroud, I just dont think he's too bright or thinks on his feet well.

Basically calling someone you don’t know stupid is not an opinion. You bad mouthing this young man like that and for what.

And how would you know if you never sat down with him and had a conversation?

For a so called Christian that prays to god several hours every morning to do the right thing ( your words) you may want to try another god. Google god with humility that teaches older judgemental men that the world doesn’t need any more of them. Geeeeez.

I've heard him in PC's and know the type of people he admires, has represent him. Enough said.

Which is more irritating? Steelbtexan putting Stroud down or you thinking/asking him to stop. Neither seems likely to stop. Maybe we should have a poll to keep us occupied until Sundays?

You dont know anything about me, so you know you're reaching in a debate when you need to bring god into the debate.

You can dislike a person and still wish the best for them. I would say that's a very godly way of thinking. Wouldn't you agree?

I saw a link that To'oTo'o starting Sunday vs Colts? Tried to verify but didn't copy that link. Anyone hearing that?

Can he translate this to the field is the question? And no I dont think he will be a terrible QB. Just not a championship level QB. Why? because he's never won anything in his life. This is the worst place to be with a franchise, with a good but not great QB.

Simply quoting an instance of your need to often bring god into your debates. I don’t agree with pretty much anything you spew. Never said having an opinion is ungodly. You just did. Your inclusion of disliking him wasn’t even part of this discussion. You brought it in for absolutely no reason only to offer a judgement from an assumed more intelligent level. Smdh

I have never mentioned his faith. That's a flat out lie.

I do judge him by the people he admires and has represent him. But I hope he learns and grows from this experience. I dont even blame the young man for being put in this position. That falls strictly on Hannah's shoulders. But hey the stadium will be full on Sunday and you will be entertained and that's all that matters to fans like you and that's fine if being entertained is your goal. I'm more about winning championships and wish they would've drafted the team out and added a QB in 2024, which is a better QB class so games like Sunday's would be rare.

And they're wrong. Calling out how a QB plays, or the people he associates/ has represent him. Is fair game and not putting him down. In fact it's fair to question this, especially because the same people that enabled Derrick are representing Stroud and will enable him if needed. Of course all of this makes sense when you take into account that Stoud looks at Derrick like a mentor.

I distinctly remember the one I quoted above about your praying hours every morning for guidance. I can even tell you I seem to remember it in a thread where you were touting your catfish boils or whatever you were cooking for your inner city friends…covering for some inner city remarks as I remember.
