The average for 1st round rookie QBs is just north of 11. (real stat) The "hater club" average is much higher (not a real stat) at just north of 22.5 but I'd bet he can at least reach 11.

Im really impressed with the defense.

Its not so much the individual plays that guys are making but more that they looked well coached as a unit.

Even when NE has made plays defenders have been right there to make it tough. No busted assignments. No wrs just running freely down field.

Everything is tight and with a purpose.

But, maybe they plan on going with Mills and Keenum this year in order to slowly bring Stroud along, which might be a good idea. I don't know. I have a hard time envisioning them keeping Stroud on the bench in the preseason and then throwing him out there once the regular season starts. I guess we shall see.

If Howard comes back as expected and the line holds up.

In years past they slowly work in the starters more as the preseason goes. The first game usually the starters only get a few series.

It's the way many teams play in the preseason, though it's not universal.
