Texans Player Transaction DISCUSSION Thread

Q means we aren't signing a FA or not drafting center? Contract chicken feed but TK happy. 😉
Remember last time we replaced a meh Center with a 2nd round pick?

& the 2nd round pick was worse?

All I want is for our next Center to be better than Quessenberry. As easy as we all believe that should be we've seen this team screw that up.

I'm not expecting Q to be the starting Center for the Texans when the season starts. I'm expecting him to be beat in camp, if however their "plan A" doesn't work out... I'm fine with plan B.

I just want our plan b at any position to not be a disaster.

If you're on the "Caserio can do no wrong" train then Quessenberry leap frogging Morrisey then being signed to come back in 2023 should either cause you to rethink things like PFF grades, your eyes, or being on that particular train.

I liked him he plays very good it is a sad loss imho. I guess it was a money thing or to play for the Browns
We seem to be giving away better players than we bringing in - although I didn't mind the Winovich signing.
I'm hoping for a couple of nice signings before this fa is over. I have a feeling they are working on one.

Jimmy Ward and Shaq Mason added after I made this prediction.
Prophetic? 😜
I smell more in the pipeline too.

What in the hell is their fascination with Murray??? This dude definitely has discriminating pics of someone.

Dorset is not quite a bust, but is a jag. You expect more out of a first rounder.
If Texans don't replace him via FA, they will definitely target WR with a prime pick in the draft.

I don’t think losing Dorsett necessitates them spending a prime pick at the position.

They do need to address his role given what is currently on the roster but that is not a day one or two value imo.

I really don't understand Caserio's lack of appreciation for Aikens. All Aikens has ever done is produce where the other TE's fell short. No one on the roster or a rookie will be able to fill his shoes in 2023.
You really think that highly of Akins?

When the Texans OC, whoever it was, decided to utilize the TE position, Akins was the one I remember catching balls and scoring.

True, but that is saying very little... he's had 1755 yards receiving since 2018

He might be living it up like Dj Swearinger & Caserio…

Belay my last.

He’s going to get the players DeMeco wants. No more, no less.

Steven Sims, probably mostly here to look at punt and KO returning, and as WR depth.

***************************************************************************************

Steven Sims played in only one game for the Steelers in 2021. The bulk of his work was in 2022 when he recorded 14 catches for 104 yards and carried 13 times for 70 yards. He also averaged 25.5 yards per kickoff return with 5.5 yards per punt return.

While with Washington from 2019-20, Sims averaged 24.6 yards per kickoff return and even scored a touchdown during his 28 games. Sims averaged 6.2 yards per punt return, and caught 61 passes for 575 yards and five touchdowns through 28 games, four of which he started.

I’m embarrassed by the win totals I’ll be predicting come August. Right now I’m predicting 6-7.

In August I’ll be on here like “Texans win 11 games who says no”

The Texans coming up with 6-7 wins this season is a reasonable expectation no matter the outcome of the draft. They can get 6 -7 wins out of Case if they had to. But no matter who they get in the draft, I still wouldn't expect much more than 7 wins. Maybe 8 if they nail the draft.

If the free agent play around their previous level then winning 6-7 is a good expectation.

Oh yeah I think 6-8 is very reasonable. My worry is the numbers that will be swimming through my head after I spend 3 months watching Bryce Young highlights
