Yes, that is Jamila. The person I think who is responsible for DeMeco becoming the head coach.

I imagine the conversation went something like this.

Jamila: I want to go home. It sure would be nice if we could move back to Houston and raise our family there. we are already building a new home there.

DeMeco: There might be better opportunities elsewhere.

Jamila: The opportunities are what you make them. There are 32 teams, you can win in every one of them.

DeMeco: I think I can.

Jamila: So what does matter where you go? You are in the driver's seat. Tell the Texans everything you must have to make this happen. As the face of the franchise, tell them you must have full control over all football operations if they want to make this thing work. And that you want a six-year contract to send the message that it is a new day in Houston Texas.
Lol. I reread this and it’s like something from the Hallmark channel.

“The opportunities are what you make them.” I wonder where if there was a dramatic pause where DeMeco thinks about it and realizes how much that makes sense?

Like a professional coach and ex NFL player who was ROTY needs to be told that? Wtf?

Lol. This is good stuff here.

I can’t wait to read more of his stuff. It is always so entertaining.

Dude said this is his dream job. Ryans is as straight as the day is long. His reputation is impeccable. If he says this is his dream job I take him at his word 100%.
I’m not questioning him, just pointing that the reason it is his dream job is because it could be his wife’s and children’s dream job. Happy wife, happy life. It’s his dream job because this is what his family wants?

Dude...you're trying too hard lol. I know it's somewhat tongue-in-cheek, so not taking this overly seriously.

That said, I think it's rooted in you refusing to see anything positive, so you deflect his positivity about this job onto someone else because surely nobody worth a damn wants this job. So, it's really Jamilla that is excited. Demeco only wants to make his wife happy. Sure buddy. Whatever you say lol.

Why is this so hard for you to believe? His wife is from Houston. His wife's family is from Houston. DeMeco and Jamila are currently building a new home in Houston.

So the Kool-Aid Brigade thinks DeMeco's wife would have absolutely no say or input in a life and career-changing decision that would have major changes for the Ryan's family. Of course the Kool Aid sippers would think that.

Seriously ? The Ryans already had a residence under construction before he took the job with the Texans ?

Never would have thought that a picture of DeMeco's wife would have turned the Kool Aid Brigade on their ear.

There's a world of difference between her having input, and her being the only reason he chose the Texans, as you alluded to earlier.

Apparently The Rolaids Brigade has difficulty presenting a consistent argument.

I think most of us recognize that most wives would have input, but some of us also recognize that as a player who grew roots and a history in this city and with this organization DeMeco might have an opinion on it and have a say in the decision.

I’m in no part of a kool aid brigade lol. But your inference was Ryans primary reason for taking this job is to make his wife happy. He clearly stated this is HIS dream job. And the proof is in the pudding. He took less money from the Texans than Denver was offering.

A guy like DeMeco would never use that language in vain. He would say something like this is one of 32 and my wife is from here, etc. You simply can’t be anything but a Debbie Downer. I’m all for holding people accountable and you’ve made some great points over the years, but when something good happens, you want to take a dump all over it, then invent reasons why it happened to fit your narrative. It’s almost funny. Actually it is. :yahoo:

Well, he lived in Philly for a while, last six years in California. Who knows?

Tom Brady just went one & done in Tampa Bay to dump a super model, so who knows?

Easier to believe that than the Jamila/Demeco docudrama I read earlier
It's hilarious and ironic that the Kool Aid Brigade thinks Hannah is a very strong influential voice for Cal and Jamila has absolutely no influence or voice with her husband and their marriage. Hypocrisy much? Is that a race thing? Carry On!

What's hilarious is you thinking the two separate situations, with two different couples have to have the exact same variables regarding decision making, and also that you have any actual information whatsoever to base your wild ass assumptions on.

Nothing wrong with wanting to come home if you get the opportunity.

Why is it a Debbie Downer to suggest that it may be his dream job because it may be the job his family wants. That certainly explains why he would take less money. Jamila can have no say but Hannah can wear the the pants?

Dude, you're gaslighting and trolling us now...probably for fun. Whatever floats your boat. I'm still not going to take this over seriously. Life is too short to get upset at stuff like this. I'm way more mellow now...and that's without taking any of Thorn's "medicine" lol. I'm going to be 60 this year. Time has a way of mellowing a person out. :)

But come on man. Nobody is saying Jamila had zero input. While there are a few marriages that are more like dictatorships, I'd venture to guess that 99% of husbands will involve their wives in a decision of this magnitude. That's far different than your initial assertion, which you apparently pulled out of your nether region and molded to suit your narrative.

So now...carry on with the trolling. I'm bored and somehow oddly entertained by this lol. Ok does this mean I need a life? Is it a cry for help? Is there a 900 hotline somewhere?

Could be your effort to make it a derogatory description of DeMeco Ryans. I bet each and every NFL or NCAA coach who’s been offered a job in a new city sits down with his family to discuss the pros and cons of the move…..why is this even being discussed?

So let me be clear, when I suggest that Jamila could've played an important part in DeMeco's decision to take the Texans job, I'm a derogatory Debbie Downer, I'm taking a dump on the DeMeco hiring, and I'm gaslighting and trolling. When y'all do a 180 and say the exact same thing, then it's perfectly natural and normal. Just remember y'all are the ones that went bat Sh*t crazy over a picture of DeMeco's wife and a suggestion she may have played a part in the decision.

Under the circumstances, y'all should now be at NRG stadium kissing Jamila's feet for making this happen. :)

You didn't simply make a suggestion that she may have played a part in the decision. Your initial post alluded that she was the sole reason DeMeco even considered the Texans job. Maybe you could be a bit more concise with your posts

And to be perfectly frank, the wife was probably DeMecos main priority and she likely made him hers - iow, it was likely a collaborative decision.

Again, I'm not arguing she played an important role. She's his wife. I'm sure she played an important role. I seriously doubt anyone here thinks different.

"Making this happen," is a far cry from "played an important role."

Say it with me now, I (TK) overreacted. It was really rather silly of me (TK). I (TK) now understand that if DeMeco had married a girl from Philadelphia, was a member of a Philadelphia church and Demeco's children were born in Philadelphia that Demeco would probably be the HC of the Denver Broncos today.

Can't do it.

He played in Philadelphia. She went with him. He coached in San Francisco. She went with him. Seems to me they were prepared to have two homes. One during the season & one out of season, like many NFL families do. If what you're saying was the case, then he never would have gone to Philadelphia & he never would have gone to San Francisco. It's a factor, I don't argue that. But not as big as you make it out to be.

Demeco has his own ties here. He had a great career here. Just like Jj Watt, Brian Cushing, Andre Johnson & all the other former players that were at his press conference, this team, their first team, means something special to them. At least that's what he (Demeco) said.

What part of being traded do you not understand?

What part of after being out of football and you decide you want to get into coaching, and Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers offer you a job, do you not understand?
