The Official Houston Texans Draft Days Discussion Thread

Lastly .... Thorn, you have a gift for understatements .... and evaluation skills ! There are no more great or even good offensive linemen available this year .... only decent ones !

You can still get "potential starters" in the 3rd round. If they take two more defensive players in the 3rd, then I'm gonna be pissed. LOL

This board complains when a team jumps in front of Texans and they get a better fit prospect. Then complains when they move in front of a WR needy team for a WR that would be in conversation for 1st round pick if not for the acl.
That's right.

I don't care who they jump or who jumps them. Just quit spending premium picks on injury red flags.

And for the record, I was thrilled the Jets jumped the Texans and thought the Pitre pick was a good one. What else you got?

I'm not seeing the problem here

I'm sensitive to injured players. More often than not it has come back to bite them in the ass.
I agree with you about injured players. I'm not happy with this pick.

That said this guy is a "1st rounder" with a 2nd round grads because of the injury. It's not like we took him with the 3rd overall.

This is where you want to take a guy like him.

ACLs are like broken bones nowadays. As long as they didn't have to mess with the meniscus, not a big deal.

Depends on how you grade them. Texans probably see Metchie as a RD1 pick if not injured so wanted to go get him. I get Skyy Moore, Pickens etc there, but Metchie is a baller assuming his ACL snaps back
Metchie is a possession slot guy. Not only that, he's injured or coming off injury. I mean, Pickens is at least ready to play and he's faster.

I selfishly wanted Nakobe Dean at 37… definitely in trade up but he is still on the board so NFL disagrees with me.

Texans two biggest needs left were WR and edge rusher and they got arguably the most polished WR in the draft who was a stud in the SEC past two seasons gaining a sizeable target share competing with multiple first round picks.

Texans felt differently about need for edge than I did. Beyond the “big 3” all their other guys brought in were day 2/3 prospects. Team knows they can’t fix everything but are going with what is best on their board. I’ll allow Caserio to go down swinging as he said. Fun to watch on draft night!

If Metchie wouldn't have been injured, he would've been there in the 3rd. He doesn't have any special traits.
