Then this boards posts would be reduced 75%. I think maybe folks are rightfully giddy coming out of this DW miasma. The topic is about grading the Texans on this trade. But somehow we’re talking about th Browns offense and etc. But my comment gets deleted for being off topic. Wow come on mods, why aren’t you deleting these other post that are not on topic?

Most definitely, but any particular member shouldn’t be singled out. If you’re going to delete those comments that are not on topic , then delete them all. Then this boards posts would be reduced 75%. I think maybe folks are rightfully giddy coming out of this DW miasma.
If it makes you feel better I get whacked more than a whack-a-mole at an Alabama county fair but I just consider the sources, lol. I’ve even deserved a few. Most definitely, but any particular member shouldn’t be singled out. If you’re going to delete those comments that are not on topic , then delete them all.

Hey if they delete everyone's posts that are off topic my post count would probably only be three. Most definitely, but any particular member shouldn’t be singled out. If you’re going to delete those comments that are not on topic , then delete them all.
I not speaking for the other mods, I view threads as a conversation that you have with friends at bar, coffee shop, work break, etc. It starts one place and goes in different directions. As happened here, at somebody goes hey we were supposed to be talking about Watson and we are a little too far off now.

I have never in my life been talking with friends and said "Hey, we were supposed to be talking about X and we are a little far off now."
Just sayin.

Seriously. What is the deal here with that?!?!?I have never in my life been talking with friends and said "Hey, we were supposed to be talking about X and we are a little far off now."

I have often, but I am also a career academic, nerd, egg-head where a conversation may start let's talk about -----

Were you ever a member of the teams official message board before it shut down in 2018? I was a member since its inception in 99' and they had some real douche mods over there. They used some ridiculous point system and were always PMing you over the most mundane things. They had no life obviously. Glad I found this place. 100% better forum/members/mods. Now back to the topic on hand.....which I can't recall what it was....oh yes Nicks grade....Seriously. What is the deal here with that?!?!?
Ive never been to a board and a mod was so power trippy as to attack the conversation of a bunch a guys talkin shop.
It’s odd and it was immediately noticeable as I’m a fairly new poster.
I have ADD. Ok I have ADHD and boy can I steer a converstaion off the railsI loved people like this in group projects:
Because this was me in group projects. I was the worse:
Hey, you said you wished we had gotten more than we did. What does anything on page 18 have to do with Caserio and the Watson trade?
Jeez. That’s just pathetic. Like a fan social credit score. Were you ever a member of the teams official message board before it shut down in 2018? I can't remember when I left the "official" boards. I was a member of the original board, and another MB, before everything changed. Hell, I can't remember how many MBs we had back then. I know there were very few people like liked the "Official" MBs when they changed.I have ADD. Ok I have ADHD and boy can I steer a converstaion off the rails
I joined that message board in 2004 or 2005 iirc. Gratefully I was directed to this message board by Vinny who no longer posts here. I am still extremely grateful to him. Were you ever a member of the teams official message board before it shut down in 2018? So we still do not know why we ended up getting a fourth round pic. I read a post that said Garrett and Hunt part of deal then pulled back so picks were adjusted. If true, Caserio was worse than I thought.
Some were expecting all those picks plus at least one top tier player. It would have been nice but then you gotta pay that top tier player and that may not have gelled with what Carstereo has planned so now they are having a hissy fit. This still boggles my mind. The second largest trade in NFL history, free up a massive amount of cap space, remove a PR nightmare who may still get suspended or put on CEL who also had a NTC so he could nix any trade he didn't like AND send your problem child to one of the worst organizations with some of the worst weather and playing in what maybe the best division and some of you still think this was a bad trade? Its like you people expected to get all of a teams picks and all their best players all while telling Watson to sit down and shut up.
Tell me how exactly was Caserio or anybody suppose to do better?

I was guilty of this. i originally said HOU wasn’t getting this insane haul of picks and players but as this fustercluck continued, I started thinking more would be added due to a insane bidding war, and low and behold it was never a legitimate scenario. Some were expecting all those picks plus at least one top tier player. With Twitter and other media apps these days franchises can guage what a likely response will be on any particular issue. Some likely wisely pulled out thus reducing the competition.I was guilty of this. i originally said HOU wasn’t getting this insane haul of picks and players but as this fustercluck continued, I started thinking more would be added due to a insane bidding war, and low and behold it was never a legitimate scenario.
So some are flustered.

yeah, that makes since.

The official board actually became this board probably at least 10 years ago now. I don't remember the reason the Texans didn't like hosting a message board at this moment.

I believe my opinion on this matter is well-known. I will only repeat some of the things I have said such as comments from several people believing Nick Caserio wanted three round ones, two second-round picks and 2 young preferably defensive players on rookie deals. Do we absolutely know that ever occurred? No however we do know that many people repeated it from different sources. It's up to us as individuals to decide what we believe. Same as with what Caserio could or should do with Watson and his no trade clause. Each of us gets to decide what we think Watson or any Texans player would be worth in a draft. Are our opinions realistic? I think your evaluation is based upon what you think such as just getting Watson out of Houston. For me it was a done deal that he would never play another Snap so I did not figure it into the trade evaluation. This still boggles my mind. Given what @CloakNNNdagger posted about another GJ investigating Watson I'm just going to go ahead and say I think Caserio fleeced Cleveland on this one even without any players.

Evaluating the trade is exactly like evaluating Combine results and statistics of college players, offensive and defensive schemes and skill sets of players. It is all in the eye of the beholder.
I have seen no one here post that they wanted all of any teams players or pics. Also Nick Caserio did not "get" any of the package for Watson as it was given to him by Cleveland and he was basically told to take it or leave it. Of course that is my opinion just like your comments are yours.
Well I disagree with your premise as I always look at the receiving team I want to trade with to see if it makes a good deal for them. Again your belief in mine do not have to line up. For example I thought laremy tunsil to Miami Dolphins for either 1.29 and their 2.50 was a deal that both teams would accept. Of course I do not know that but they can be said of anything that we post basically on this message board. You say that is your opinion, though you state it as fact, but we know that is not the case. Teams were not even allowed to talk to Watson unless they met the ante up price otherwise do you really think there was only 4 teams that had an interest? BB this is where your trade scenarios never make sense, its like you base things off only one team or party setting all the terms. Its why I have pointed out in some of your trade threads the the one thing you haven't factored in is that the other team has to agree to it. Well this is it in reverse, you seem to have not factored in that the Texans had to agree to the deal as well. Or do you really believe Cleveland wanted to give up their next three 1st rounds picks and then several later picks?
Yes it’s can be frustrating but we always have to remember. What we think they should get, more and likely won’t be what they will get. Gotta set the bar low brother. Just like all of our mock drafts. I know one particular member will go over board once the Texans are done with the draft. We all know they will not draft the players we think they should draft.I was guilty of this. i originally said HOU wasn’t getting this insane haul of picks and players but as this fustercluck continued, I started thinking more would be added due to a insane bidding war, and low and behold it was never a legitimate scenario.

They were apart of the original trade proposal. But after Watson’s team called them back. They took that proposal off the table. If Watson would’ve selected them at first, those two would’ve been Texans. We were never going to get Garret and/or Hunt and there was nothing that could be done to force it. The only other option was to nix all the trades, let Watson ride the bench another year while paying him 35 million, have the NFL lower the hammer on us because he is still a Texan and then watch next year as his value goes down and, guess what, we still don't get premier players.
At this point TK I really don't know if you honestly believe we could have gotten more or are just trolling.
The Watson trade is much like the Roby trade, Caserio walked away leaving money on the table.
I have not once argued we could/should have gotten more.At this point TK I really don't know if you honestly believe we could have gotten more or are just trolling.

In Lovie we trust......unless of course we start off with a 4.60 safety or a crippled CB.lol
I look forward to your comments if/when the draft doesn’t go as you think it should.
This is where I disagree. The truth (to me) is Caserio did a magnificent job of managing Watson's ego while being patient and navigating the NFL shark tank. He was in complete control over who could even have access to Watson.
