DW4 Traded to Cleveland

So Watson has already approved both N.O. and Carolina, right? It's up to Caserio to either accept one of those two offers or hear what Cleveland and any other team that wants to make a pitch has to say/offer. But as far as N.O. and Carolina, we don't have to run anything past Watson first if we were to choose one of those, right?

Its all hearsay, for all we know Watson has said he will only play for a team that has green in their jerseys. Remember when all the reports said that a deal was done and he was 100% going to Miami? We won't know anything really until it deal is actually done.

That's my understanding, but it's hard to know for sure.

? What I've been reading is he has agreed to waive NTC for Saints and Panthers and is meeting with them again later this week after dep . My thoughts would be that both teams have offers that Caserio is contemplating maybe tweaking if DW's next meetings go well. Those are as I understand to nail down his role, the offense and how each team sees the future of their team. New Orleans more his life style/brand but Carolina home and Clemson where he gets much love.

Hope that's true and we can move from him soon

That's the point..
What do the Colts have to offer?..

They don't have anything close to offer (already spent it on Wentz) that these other teams have to offer. I wouldn't of entertained a trade from them either, especially being a divisional rival.

The Colts could be the last team in the division next year though,
For that reason alone.........the Texans wouldn't want to potentially needlessly complicate negotiations with a team that can't compete with ones already at the table.

Dejaview never mentions contract, he said negotiated trade. That was crazy times, people thought mike was High for that trade, turned out it was Rickey. Lol

Without negotiating the contract there is no negotiating the trade.

Cleveland becomes just the latest potential landing spot for the three-time Pro Bowler to emerge this week. However the logistics of striking a deal remain complex as Watson still has a no-trade clause that he must waive. Houston ha also reportedly not changed its steep asking price, which includes three first-round picks as a part of any
***
Hopefully Caserio has some flexibility re his asking price because clearly two 2022 first round picks are more valuable than
three first rounders if two of them were to be future picks in 2023 & 2024 for example.

Not if we are in the market for a QB in 2023.

Alot of speculation honestly. From a talent objective, Cleveland is the best for him despite being in the loaded AFC. From a management point of view, Saints are better, but their roster is aging. There is a team that hasn't jumped up yet in the same manner TB did with Brady.

It'll be Carolina...they've been there from the jump & they have the best combo of draft capital and players for us to take advantage of. Carolina is Clemson country too and DW4 would likely feel as safe as he could possibly feel out there...Not that i care about that, but something like that would likely be key to get him to waive his NTC.

I'd take their 6th this year (Charles Cross), Their 1st and 2nd next year, and a player package to include at least 1 of Jaycee Horn, Derrick Brown or Burns...or Both McCaffrey and Hubbard.

The Browns continue to be the Browns.
Very possible the Browns have a deal in their back pocket to move Mayfield.

But the Browns don't have 2 2022 1sts.

Watson has only played in Cleveland once, but he did not enjoy his experience at the mistake by the lake. It may be his best chance of winning. I just can't see him going there.

I think it will be Carolina because why would Watson want to be traded to a division that has Jackson, Burrow, and the Steelers? Then after surviving that group he would have to play against Mahomes, Wilson or Herbert in the playoffs? Then there is also Allen in Buffalo. Belicheck is still in New England.

AFC is tough.

NFC has aging Brady and Rodgers. Stafford too. It looks much easier there.

Just like everything else the Texans have done, the trade partner will not be any of the “options” we’re looking at today.

It will be some team out of left field & include a player like David Johnson. Overpaid, never was that will be the focus of our offense for two years, to our disappointment.

This isn’t Bill O’Brien’s Texans. I understand the ability to be pessimistic, based off the events that have happened over the past few years.. but I’m going to wait and see how Caserio handles this trade before I pass any judgement. This is his shot to get this organization on the right track. I think he’ll get it right

This is the biggest test to see if the Texans are operating differently than in past. I am wait and see mode.

Not surprised at all...this is him in high school..was a ball boy for them back then i believe. Aside from that, ATL is referred to as "black mecca" by most young black business professionals. He'd likely thrive there. And although Matt Ryan is still there & just restructured his deal to help the team, i could see him being shipped off in a packaged deal somewhere else to make room for DW4. Problem is they don't have much of anything player wise i'd want & i don't believe they have the draft capital either.

Yeah player wise they don’t. They have the picks though.

Guys don't think like that on that level until they're near the end & are trying to complete their careers.

Ok Atlanta, I'll take 3 firsts 22,23,24 and Matt Ryan. Anything else is gravy. Anyone know what the cap hit would be for Ryan? Ryan is 36. I could see him being here 3-5 years and play at a relatively high level. He's better even today at his age than Davis Mills will ever be imho.

I still like the Panthers package better overall, but I'm intrigued by Atlanta.

Caserio's on record as saying he wants "5 pieces"...whatever that means. I don't think he believes he'll actually be able to get 3 unused 1st round draft picks for him..If he can he'll take it, but i think he'll be more flexible & realistically looking at some combo of 2 unused 1sts and a player package to include a young 1st round talented stud already in the league and 2nd/players.

I just can't see a team giving up 3 unused 1sts for the next 2-3 years for him unless they have multiple this year..........& the only team i know who has them has already said they're out.

DW4 meeting with Atl tomorrow. No trade happening before tomorrow at the earliest.

I doubt the Browns will be greenlighted by #4, but Atl? He's got history there - I could see them emerging out of this thing as the front runner and I think he will green light Atl.

Major issue is now you've dissed Matt Ryan. There's no way they can co-exist on the same team. So, they either have to execute a trade to another team such as Philly perhaps? Or they include him in the trade to Hou and I'd be thrilled to bring in a capable grizzled vet with his resume.

Not feasible..he just restructured to get ATL under the cap......& his Cap hit is still 37 million....with an enormous pile of dead money after this year too. He's well on the backside of his career & 21 TD's with 10 ints aint gonna get it done.

Yep I just checked thanks. So, I'm out on Matt Ryan.

This looks like a 3 team NFC South fight to the death. Being in the same division, each has incentive to not only try to get DW4 to help their team, but they also can hurt their two counterparts at the same time.

This is popcorn time guys. This is as good as it gets for intrigue in an offseason.

Loser gets to play 1/4 of their schedule against Brady and Watson and they'll have a scrub/washed up QB. Good luck being anything in the near future. Texans can help you with that, but what you got for us? lol
