Lovie isn't my first choice, but Lovie has proven in the right circumstance he can succeed. He needs to have a great OC and staff. His defenses and special teams were always great. His offenses sucked. Do they hire Lovie as HC and promote Pep? Is that strong enough to succeed? I don’t know but it's better than McCown lol.

I would think that Lovie is HC. Pep OC and AHC. McCown QB coach. Miles Smith (Lovie’s son) DC.
 
WTF!! So the Texans g an under qualified ex player consideration to be a HC, then let all other strong HC candidates join other teams and now we’re talking about naming Lovie the HC.

Cal McNumbnuts has no business as an NFL owner.

Trust fund babies like cal don’t have the brains or backbone to get things done right. They let others think for them.

Not McCown and asking Lovie? either nobody wants the job, or they're trying to give McCown a couple of years as OC since everyone was saying he has no experience?

This tells me McCown was never considered a HC candidate. Neither was Hines Ward. I don't understand why the charade.

The Texans aren't as screwed up as they've been saying. Arrogant maybe, to think they only needed to interview what turned out to be 4 candidates.

Flores... which I think is why Culley got fired. They thought they could get him. If not for the lawsuit he'd be the guy. If they weren't playing around & hired him when he came in for his interview, he might not have filled his suit.

Gannon, the only other guy they thought enough of to be a HC

O'Connell like McCown they think he's a good coach, future HC... Minnesota obviously thought higher of him.

Lombardi I'm guessing they didn't think much of him

The players do seem to want to have the final say. Although they didn't invest say the 4 bil that it's going to take to buy the Broncos. My question is, what kind of return on a 4 bil investment do players think is acceptable for an owner taking that kind risk with that big of an investment?

Tells me that the current situation is hot for them to just hire Josh Mc Cown with no experience at all.

Lovie answers the "minority" issue and has around 20 years of experience as a head coach...with mixed results. Superbowl, then mediocre run in the NFL, them terrible run at Illinois. Plus he knows how the Texans operate.

He might be just as much as a stop gap as people thought of Culley though
 
Is this brilliant or what? Scare the crapola out of the fan base with the possibility of a giving a backup QB with zero coaching experience the head coach job. Only to pull the old switcharoo with another 65 year old assistant coach. And everyone is happy instead of scratching their heads?
