Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Just some general info.....

How Long Does A Grand Jury Process Take?

In comparison to a trial juror experience, most Texas grand jury processes are rather lengthy. On average, selected grand jurors should expect to serve at least one or two days a week for 12-24 months.

Passing this along. Your choice to believe it or not. One of my siblings lives in the Heights area, gated community. One of his neighbors is an ADA with the DA’s office who I recently as of last night got to hang out with through my brother. Long story short, “Watson will be indicted.”

Major insider statement….are you 100% certain he laid out all the facts in a manner that proved it was as certain as he stated or was he speaking from a theoretical point of view in guaranteeing such an outcome?

My source relates that team Watson is convinced that he will be indicted.

Now, someone who worked close with the Texans organization and who is a woman was scheduling his sessions...whoever might that be lol

Fifth amendment protection has requirements. Witnesses under oath can refuse to answer certain questions if answering would implicate them in any type of criminal activity. In a grand jury or court, contempt is a common tool (up to 1 year or to whenever answers are given). Something that in cases such as this, something that should scare the heck out of Watson, the prosecutors can offer immunity in return for presenting prosecutorial information. And, if the witness still refuses to cooperate, if the witness' "criminal activity" can be corroborated through other witnesses, then that uncooperative witness can be prosecuted for what he/she tried to hide under the 5th amendment privilege.

Looks like Buzbee is questioning Jasmine Brooks there

Some sound advice...............

Once you take the 5th, you're usually advised to take the 5th on every question asked. But yes, you can be compelled to answer those questions once offered immunity.

At least the bright side in that case is he's going to end up on CEL and the Texans don't have to take a $35MM cap hit. And depending on how the case is resolved, might recoup the rest of the contract.

Actually if he ends up on the CEL then he gets all his money without even having to sit on the bench.

Why is Buzzbee putting this out on public forum? It’s obvious that the media circus wasn’t on hand to watch this questioning b/c they would’ve been the source.

Is he still trying to get a civil settlement for his clients, or is he pushing for much larger individual settlements?

Because he has got the upper hand. Rusty would do the same. Also, for example many of Cosby’s depositions eventually became public

Also remember. Rusty called ALL of the women liars. He tried to embarrass them. Well, that can backfire when you do that.

The print is so small it can't be read
djohn's approach still only allows limited enlargement.

If it's still too small for you, take a picture with your phone from your computer. If you don't use a computer, take a screenshot with you phone. In both cases, enlarge the pic on your phone with finger gestures. Doing so should allow you to blow up the print to easily readable size. :tiphat:

It still has not been confirmed as to whether the Texans or the NFL pays his salary while he is on CEL. Some have surmised but it is not stated in the CBA that I could find.
Really, the only thing concerning to the Texans is that his salary, although applied to the cap of the current year will be rolled over to the following year.

whether he actually receives money or who from is really none of our concern

From what I could see, there were a lot of questions but the answer was always 'I plead the fifth'

Just asking the question doesn't prove anything
Yes, but he is asking questions he already has the answers to. That is meaningful. How would he know she took 30 percent of the pay?

Because to send pictures of women and what they looked like is something done in textbook trafficking and prostitution cases

Have someone organize and book massage therapist through Instagram.

Asking for what they looked like first, not credentials.

Then having what he thought was consensual sex that “just happened.”

Then paying for services. Also paying a cut to the person organizing it.

Then apologizing to the girl for misunderstanding.

Then asking them to sign a non-disclosure.

Doing this more than once a week.

For weeks.

Now has multiple accusers.

Am I missing something?

Nope you got it.

My thought is if the NFL pays it it may not count against the salary cap. I can find nothing in the CBA to say one way or the other. Can you?

I’m sure it’s the same source you’re using. It was provided in a link on one of these threads.

It’s going to count against the Texans the year he is on it. It’s usually for an undetermined time. But whether he’s on it for 6 months or 9 months, the team will be credited for the current year & rolled over to the following year.

that’s really the only way it can work, regardless who is paying, so the team is never over the cap.

Per Matt Young
Jan. 28, 2022

Thirteen of the 22 women who filed suit have been deposed by Watson's legal team and the rest are being scheduled, according to Buzbee. Brian Burney, Watson's business manager, and Quincy Avery, Watson's private quarterback coach, will be deposed as fact witnesses, which are people with knowledge of a case who describe only the facts as they know them.

I wonder if Avery pleads the fifth too
