Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

I haven't said a whole lot about Watson in recent months re this mess, but he should have just settled straight away - all he has accomplished is to raise the profile and notoriety of the case.
It would be pretty much behind him by now with a new team and possibly being in the playoffs.
Other players have also faced similar scenarios and it is behind them.
He has put his whole future in jeopardy as well as his close family as far as their lifestyles are concerned - he could lose everything.
Even if he is innocent, he could still lose this case - people are wrongfully convicted even with representation.
And lastly, guilty or not, some people will still think the worst.
So overall, he is taking a huge risk.
Shoulda just settled...

THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, SO HELP YOU G-D!................In court, that may be the most difficult for some to deal with, especially when any of those elements were missing upon initial contact questioning............it can commonly leave the person twisting in the wind, until................

In Court, always tell the truth or else: "Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we practice to deceive"

Specifically, bringing up in a public press conference the 18 massage therapists who supposedly had no problems with Watson was the 2nd major rookie attorney mistake Hardin made............the first, was calling out ALL of the complainants as LIARS.
So now, if it is revealed that Watson paid Jasmine Brooks, all of his other “character” witnesses are in question and possibly tainted and biased

I don't think he felt that he could settle as he was aware that more and more could and probably would be popping up. I believe also his ego forced him to think that it would just pass.. no pun intended.

I thought of that, but isn't there something you can do to stop bandwagon golddiggers?
Perhaps that was one reason he waited so long, to get them all out of the woodwork...

Potential non-golddigger victims in cases like this are mostly interested in justice for what they have been put through............they follow no timelines............except for the statutes of limitations.

Women like these are not gold diggers. There is something you can do to not put yourself in situations though. Not pretend you need a massage and then solicit sex to actual massage therapists.

Not saying they are or they aren't - and neither should any of us until proof is offered.

I don’t see Watson getting indicted or at least indicted on major felonies so I think he’s “unofficially” on a new team sometime in February. That would give us time to digest our haul and scout/plan well in advance of the draft. Time to finally move on.

The wild card, or cards, in this are the three plaintiffs who are not agreeing with a settlement. All it takes is just one insisting on a jury trial, which would not be concluded until later in the year.

That is untrue about the other women being willing to settle. Reminder, multiple women went to the police without filing a lawsuit
Those women who went to the police are seeking criminal charges, not civil. My comment was directed at the civil plaintiffs. Whether accurate or not I can't comment on, but it was being reported that all the civil plaintiffs except four had agreed to settlement. This was followed at a later date by the announcement that one of the four had agreed. My understanding of the news is that this is where the civil cases currently are at.

Those are allegations, not proof.
Watson’s team admitted sexual relations happened with some masseuses. They also admitted he went to masseuses asking for massages. Stop it.

You have a text message from his own “character witness” she stopped working with him because he was “messing with esthetician’s” and his name was getting around and doing too much.

Some were consensual.
I prefer the American justice system - not the Russian one.
Fair go mate.

Anyone else see this? Now someone has directed a message to his GF... A very good read

Daily Beast? Is that the new National Enquirer?

Revealed: NFL Star Deshaun Watson’s Settlement Offer to Sexual Misconduct Accuser

In recent weeks, NFL pundits have been feverishly speculating about potential landing spots for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, with many pointing to Miami as a likely destination.
The 26-year-old is a three-time Pro Bowler who should be in the prime of his career. However, he was ruled out of every game in the 2021 season due to “non-injury reasons/personal matter”—or at least, that’s what the Texans called it. The reality is far more grim.

Over the past year, 22 women have filed civil lawsuits against Watson claiming a range of sexual misconduct offenses. All of the alleged victims were masseuses who say Watson crossed lines during their massage therapy sessions, from Watson allegedly rubbing his erect penis against them without their consent to forcing them to perform oral sex. A number of the women say in their suits that they suffered from PTSD following the incidents, including crippling anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. Watson, through his lawyer Rusty Hardin, has denied the women’s allegations, saying that any “active sexual activity” that happened during the massage sessions was “mutually desired by the other party.”
An Open Letter to Jilly Anais From a Deshaun Watson Accuser

Despite the large number of accusers, all of whom have shared strikingly similar stories, Watson has yet to face any legal repercussions or be suspended by the league. And The Daily Beast has learned that Watson has attempted to settle with a number of his accusers, offering them between five- and six-figure sums in exchange for their silence.

The Daily Beast has exclusively obtained one of these settlement offers from Watson to an accuser—who said she refused to sign, turning him down. The woman has requested anonymity. You can read the settlement offer here:

In the settlement offer, Watson “denies all such claims and liability, including the facts alleged” by the accuser, and says the $100,000 payment is meant to “buy peace.”

If the accuser were to accept, they would then agree to dismiss the pending civil suit within 24 hours and adhere to strict confidentiality and non-disparagement clauses contained in the agreement, including that neither party nor their agents “will speak, write, or otherwise communicate publicly or privately, including in any interviews, social media posts, blog posts, articles or any other media or forum, on the terms of this Agreement, and the amount of the settlement”; will not disclose the “Settlement Amount”; and that any violation of the agreement’s terms “will cause irreparable harm and that money damages will be inadequate to fully compensate for such damages.”

The FBI and Houston police are currently investigating the sexual misconduct allegations made against Watson, and last month the police issued a series of search warrants for Watson’s social media accounts.

Embattled Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson begins making 'five- and six-figure settlement offers to 22 women suing him for sexual misconduct': At least one accuser 'rejected $100,000 deal'
  • Texans QB Deshaun Watson reportedly made five- and six-figure settlement offers to some of the 22 women who have sued him for sexual misconduct
  • The Daily Beast published one $100,000 offer, which says that Watson would only enter into the deal to 'buy peace' and continues to deny the allegations
  • The confidential agreement also stipulates that the accuser agree to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice 'within 24 hours' of finalizing the settlement
  • The offer was reportedly rejected by the woman, who remains unidentified
  • Several other Watson accusers have spoken out publicly, saying they've suffered post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety since their encounters with him
  • The plaintiffs, most of who work as massage therapists or in other similar professions, filed separate lawsuits as Jane Does in the spring of 2021
  • Watson was accused of forcibly touching his penis against some of the women, disrobing, and in at least one case, forcing a woman to perform oral sex on him

The woman who rejected is smart. Never accept the first offer. Especially if time is on your side.

Watson will get desperate and settle for more.

Lame? Why? This is EXACTLY why so many women don’t speak out.

Ehh, its garbage.

there’s speaking UP to & thru the proper channels so THEY can do something about it…..& then there’s this….lame publicity stunt.

Don’t throw bricks and hide your hand….stand by your words/comments. Don’t write some chicken **** anonymous letter…not even addressed to the alleged assailant but his girlfriend.

Yep. And women like Jilly won't care, because she's got her claws in that high profile multi-millionaire and she ain't letting go until he's been bled dry. lol

“Women like Jilly”? i mean isn’t that the same type of pre-judgement that some of you guys accuse some us of doing b/c we haven’t bought wholeheartedly into what the alleged victims say happened & would like to wait to see how this thing goes in court?

yeah b/c they’re all mutes and were incapable of saying no….& he had them locked away so they couldn’t tell anyone until big bad Buzzard came along? Lol Stop it dude.
First line. You think a woman saying no will stop a sexual assault? Or a rich famous athlete threatening to ruin their business. I gotta be honest. I despise ignorance.

Sad but true. I know that someone in the Watson camp showed that letter to Jilly and Watson. But, she isn't smart enough to get the message. Plus she has a ton of money due to her relationship with Watson. Meaning she would not care as long as that cash keeps coming in

The women I KNOW? Yeah it sure would. If not those jokers would be laid up in a hospital. Contrary to what your ignorant & biased party line has been in this case, all women aren’t helpless victims to mens advances. And the only ignorant person here is you who seems to be unable to comprehend that.
