Texans random thought of the day

Greenard has returned to practice for the first time his high ankle sprain suffered in the Green Bay game. He needs to take return slowly.

Is it the same ankle he had issues with in college?

Speaking from experience. Once you sprain an ankle badly it's never the same. Sometimes you spend time alternating sprained ankles due to over compensating for the weaker ankle.

Moreland is dealing with a bone bruise of his patella (knee cap). MRI would dictate a 3-4 week return (dictated by degree of pain). This should coincide with being able to return by week 1-2. He is starter material on a very friendly contract.

Same.

From the Injury Thread Aug 15...............3 weeks on the nose.
Greenard has suffered what is reported to be a "little" (there' that word again) ankle sprain. I suspect that it is not a lateral ankle sprain, but actually a high ankle sprain. With the Gators he suffered a high ankle sprain in 2019, and tried to partly play through it, still remarkably gaining some impressive sack numbers. This injury lingered into the beginning of last season. Then mid season, he re-injured it. I would not expect him back under the best of circumstances in less than 3 weeks.

I know people who know people who know people who know people that tell me………..Watson may never play another down for the Texans. Shhh, don’t tell anyone.

Personally, I’m bored nearly to tears with all the Watson garbage. That said, it does grate on my nerves that he gets to sit on his arse and make over 10 million dollars.

Most definitely. I’m tired of hearing about it as well.Bottom like he is wrong and those women are to.

Amendola is a fearless slot with a long history of injuries. His knee issues and surgeries have been minimized. He is unlikely to last the season. My guess is that he has been brought in more for his vet guidance.
If he does play, I think he will be used in certain packages, possession receiver and also as decoy.
Still, I agree they will likely use him also for his guidance and leadership - I hope he is worth it as roster spots are valuable.

The Nick Caserio way to Rebuild.

@RieseDraft

first pick was in the 3rd round on a QB who isn't starting. tough to do.

the long-term vision of that pick was...non-existent

I heard they didn’t even interview him pre-draft, just picked the first QB off the board because DW situation. Shows how great that front office is

$2.5 million to be Nico Collins personal Yoda? They're paying Easterby $3 million, so Amendola's a bargain.

Amendola is immediately the best slot wr on the team.

Due to age/injury his snaps will have to be monitored like Belichick used him. Nothing wrong with this.

It's a 1 year deal. It's like Caserio is spending your money.

Who is Mike Renner?

They did research through Pep/Shaw.

It's not tough to not start a rookie when you don't have a pick until the 3rd Rd. Hopefully Collins and I bet Mills and Lopez will be starting by the end of the year.

Renner is the #1 analyst at PFF. Watches more tape than this board combined. He is a mathematical, statistical, analytical wiz kid who graduated from Notre Dame.

How many downs of football has he played?

This season is all about the tank, so Renner is going to be right again.

I could have said the same thing he said. Does that make me a genius too. I actually think it's good business to take a shot at a QB every year until you find your guy.

All I can surmise is the Texans rebuild starts next year and this year they’re…

Just fielding a team?

I can appreciate dumping salary because of the absolute horrible contracts. But Roby’s contract wasn’t that bad all things considered.

Hilarious. First they sign a 35 year old slot receiver well past his prime. And if he’s the best you can do with what’s already here or what you’ve just let go, then what does that say about the talent that’s been gathered here?

Then again, maybe the tank is in and this just helps it along without admitting it. That said, 790 this morning played a Caserio interview where he basically admitted the tank was in, saying this year isn’t results driven, it’s process driven.

And for those of you still doubting a tank, with as bad as their secondary is, they trade away their best DB? Steven Spielberg couldn’t make this shit up.

I had the Texans in the 4-5 win range, really struggling to get them to 5, but figuring the ball bounces like it does. Now I’d have to put them in the 2-3 win range, if that much.

What a shit show.

Come on Steel you know how. They should’ve ended the session as soon as he pulled whatever stunt or mischievous behavior that he did.

True, but I'm sure they felt like they were stuck between a rock and a hard place. He's the type of guy that can make or break their business.

The women I dont believe are the ones where he did these things (Allegedly) and they kept doing business with him.

This depends on whether you want a full rebuild or not.

I like the fact that it appears that Caserio is taking no half measures when it comes to doing a full rebuild. This should've been done yrs ago instead of a bunch of half measures. What better time to do this when your QB has screwed your franchise over.

Renner is responsible for writing and publishing the PFF 300 player draft guide manual.

This is the second year in a row that they don’t have a rookie starter.
