Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

The only P.I. / Texans story that I recall is from the S.I. article about Easterby and an unnamed player making the accusation.

Nuk never said much about anything, iirc.
Exactly! I challenge anyone to provide a link or blurb with Hopkins saying a P.I. was following him. This is just another example of something that gets repeated ad nauseum without anyone challenging it and it's taken as fact on this forum.

First off, why believe anything said here without validation from media or legal sources? People say all kinds of stuff simply because they think it's true whether it is or isn't. There are a lot of folks who think their opinion is fact and can't tell the difference between the two.

That's because people are lazy AF and would rather talk out of their ass than to put a little effort into knowing a freaking fact.

The same group that thinks the Texans org didn't know are either hoping this POS starts week 1

Or they are creaming on themselves thinking what this POS is worth in trade.

Me, I'm just looking forward to this going to trial for the entertainment value. After all isn't that what the NFL is all about?

I don't recall this but if he did then how would he know it was a PI and not just paparazzi or some weird fan? And if it was a PI how would he know the Texans hired them and not some of the various women he was in a relationship with looking for something to take him to court for? That's assuming anyone at all was following him.
IIRC your point was made by someone back then.

Not true. I don’t think the McNairs knew he was forcing women to plug his hole. I don’t think they knew he was raping anyone.

I’m not hoping DW starts week 1 or any other week. & I don’t think he’s going to get traded.

if You are getting your “facts“ from the internet you may just as well get them from somebody’s ass talk.
1) I try to verify things as much as possible, and if I'm not sure I'll say as much. I don't just read something and take it as gospel and try to spread it as fast as I can.

2) If you haven't found dependable, trustworthy sources by now, you're doing it wrong. And I even try to verify those trusted sources with at least one more as much as I can.

Like Larry from Stafford that calls daily to 610 and 790…

Quoted for truth

Butt I think they knew something wasn't right.

Makes no sense, especially when you have cases not associated to him. Keep defending him though. Maybe Hardin can use your assistance

How did I defend him? Seeing that you supposedly work in the legal arena and didn't even know how extradition work, seems like you need my assistance more than Hardin. :kitten:

Yes exactly. Which makes me think is Hardin’s gameplan to fight extradition back to Texas?

Wait a minute. I'm not a lawyer but I always thought it took intervention by a governor for someone to successfully fight extradition to another state. In your line of work, how often are people fighting extradition and winning?

He's going to be criminally charged because I'm not seeing the relevance of a 9 year old tweet pumping himself up when he was in HS? You need to start making some sense...
Exactly. A case can be made to criminally charge Watson with his activities after he turned 21. If you need a tweet from when he was in HS as evidence, you're more Vinny Gambini than Perry Mason.

Report: At least 10 alleged victims have spoken to Houston police about Deshaun Watson (msn.com)
The dates of the complaints range from September 2019 to December 2020, and Houston police interviewed the reported victims between April 2 and May 20. That would mean Houston police were fielding complaints about Watson well before attorney Tony Buzbee went public with the first civil suit against the Texans quarterback, which happened in March and is separate from any criminal investigation.

This might help dispel the idea that this was simply a money grab .... the FACT that these women had gone to police before Buzbee filed his civil suits.

A brief summary of each complaint is one of the few lines left unredacted in the documents. “Complainant stated that the suspect touched her inappropriately and exposed himself,” read one. Another said: “Complainant was sexually assaulted by the suspect. One suspect. No arrest. Complainant willing to prosecute.”

I hear you & yes to that point, this is substantial.

However, other questions are peaked. This would mean they've been "looking" into this longer than any of us have thought & still no charges to date. Makes one question the strength of evidence they've uncovered.

Like I've said several times before , its when not if , all we're waiting on at this point is the grand jury to convene .... that's the next domino to fall and it triggers "everything else."

Some posters choose to live in denial.

Denial of what? Lack of information? I don't know Corrosion's sources from Adam. And I don't know Corrosion. I'm not doubting him, but I'm also not reading it and taking it at face value. If/when he gets charged, then I'll believe there's enough evidence to charge him. Otherwise, what's the point for someone like me to get all worked up about something when the only information I have is what both sides want me to have?

Where did you read that? It said HPD did the interviews in April and May. Buzbee filed the suits in March.

I think they are talking about in 2020, almost a year prior.

Be patient, a grand jury will be conviening soon enough.

They are the dates of the criminal complaints - the date reported to the police.
Sometimes it's good to read the actual article.

Houston police spoke to the women between April 2 and May 20 of this year, and dates of when they say the offenses occurred ranged from September 2019 to December 2020.

Curious..how does it do that? A person can file criminal and still hope to get loads of cash no matter what results of a criminal complaint, correct? I can see the assumption but despite how a criminal complaint goes, victims can still hope for huge cash awards. One woman was discussed who filed only civil; these or their atty was astute to file criminal.

Look at the OJ case as an example.

Beat the rap, which this POS may be able to do too.

But lost the civil case.

per this August 14th article a GJ was convened.
A grand jury has reportedly been convened in the investigation into Deshaun Watson.

According to Mark Berman, a grand jury has been put together to determine whether or not there is enough evidence against the Texans quarterback to charge
