A part of me loves this about NC...and one of the reasons I was okay with his hiring. Another part of me questions, will he be able to separate the business end of his relationships with the players from the personal side of it. Probably not an issue...
Worrying about nothing, after hearing/seeing Caserio work the Pervert situation and some of the contracts/cuts he's made this wont be an issue.

He's participated in practices for yrs in Foxboro.

Right.
And he has 89 on the roster right now and knew he is required to pare it back to 53 so I hardly think he was worried about cutting those he deems unfit.
A non issue.

At least Jack Easterby was sighted out there teaching a three point stance to professional NFL players. It's good the team has an expert to show the players the basics.

I know the cuts can start anytime but when is the deadline to cull to 75?
Before last year, teams were required to cut down rosters from 90 to 75 players before the final preseason game and then down to 53.

Last year, there was just one cutdown day [5 days before the 1st regular season game].

This year, teams will be able to start training camp with a 90 man roster. Cuts to 85 will occur on Aug. 17 [after 1st preseason game], then to 80 on Aug. 24 [after the 2nd preseason game] and to 53 on Aug. 31 [after the final preseason game].

Just an interesting heads up, NFL Network, this afternoon is airing a program called Throwback. At 8:00 PM will be a repeat of the 1993 Divisional Playoff between the Oilers and Kansas City. "Montana in the House of Pain". Warren Moon was the Oiler QB.

It's airing right now, also.
That was a bizarre season. Coming off of 35-3, they started 1-4 and then won 11 in a row. Buddy Ryan punching Kevin Gilbride during the last game (I was at that game but we didn't hear about the punch until talk radio on the way home), the Jeff Alm suicide, "Babygate", and then the ending in the playoffs with this game (basically Cool Joe beating Buddy Ryan's defense in the 4th quarter. The Oilers had beaten the Chiefs 33-0 earlier that season).

That season, and the way it ended (they were a #2 seed that year), was probably the final nail in the coffin for Oilers fans.

My son was born in 1977. 1987 was the first year he seriously started following football. By 1993 his only experience with the Oilers were with a team that made the playoffs every year.

I can remember conversations with him trying to explain all the heartbreak I had suffered as an Oilers fan down through the years. He just could not see it.

While watching a game last season he looked at me & said "You know dad, being a Texan's fan has finally made me understand what you meant about the Oilers".

I guess I finally passed the torch to the next generation of disgruntled fans of football in Houston.

Herzog by far.

Under his watch Matthews/Munchack/Steinkuler/Rozier/Drew Hill/Givens/Jeffires and of course the wife beating choker was added. That's just on offense
both were POS separated by 40 years or so. Really kinda strikes me at all the weird BS the city of Houston has brought to the NFL Over time. Maybe it’s the humidity but how many teams have had their GM arrested for mooning a wedding reception? Anybody want anymore chocolate cake? Maybe the best way is just to embrace the weirdness and be like Raiders fans

If you are alluding to Warren Moon, well see I thought Moons wife was actually the aggressor in that well publicized altercation they had.
Not according to her own words:

The wife of Warren Moon has accused the Minnesota Vikings quarterback of striking her on the head with an open hand and choking her to the point that she almost lost consciousness before she escaped from the couple's home.

Felicia Moon stated in an affidavit to police that Moon assaulted her Tuesday afternoon at their home in the Houston suburb of Missouri City.

"You could tell she had been assaulted. . . . She received some injuries," said Lt. Pat Worrell of the Missouri City police department's criminal investigation unit. Worrell would not elaborate on the injuries.

-----

"Felicia Moon said that she had been struck in the head with an open hand by Mr. Moon and that he had also choked her to the point of almost passing out. Mrs. Moon said that she was able to break free from Mr. Moon and that she fled in her car. She said Mr. Moon followed her, but that she was able to lose him."

She declined to press charges and the state dropped the case due to lack of a witness.

She spent 100,000 grand at the jewelry strore after the HOF'er spent a day with his mistress. (I know this from a former player) He was p!ssed and started beating on her. You need to listen to their sons call. As well as his history after he was done as a player.

Lets not go further with this discussion unless you want to do it by PM.

The bridge between stupid and useless is short.

Story I heard from one of the most renowned and respected crime scene investigators in the state of Texas was she was pissed about his mistress and spent a few hundred k at the Galeria.

He beat the hell out of her for it.

I also worked with guys who went to school with his kids. They tormented them viciously after every loss.

Agreed,

One built a franchise back up from the ashes. (I hope Caserio can do this) The other sold the farm to protect a Pervert and helped put the franchise in the position it's in today.

Supposedly, his family was also tormented relentlessly when they were in the stands and many of the comments directed at them crossed the line.

Great synopsis. I go to games because my wife enjoys it and I've made close friends with great people who've sat around us for yrs. Plus we have a great group of people we tailgate with. (Including one of your fellow Ducks.)

As far as the team goes, as soon as they find a franchise QB (Hopefully Mills) things will get better. It's going to be a rough 2-3 yrs as Mills learns or they draft another QB. Unfortunately I dont think Culley/Company survive. Then hopefully the type of HC you're describing will be hired. Culley's future with the Texans will be directly related to the development of Mills or whatever QB they pick at the top of the draft next yr.

Since you mentioned next years draft, I know its early, but the media outlets are touting the defensive crop and number one overall is a Duck -

Frankly I'm a little shocked. Noticed him as outstanding talent, maybe best pass rushing talent in school history, but not sure, as key defensive linemen goes better than Haloti Nagata? He is explosive with burst and great instincts. Will need to do homework but I'm not going to sign off on him simply because of school or need..... Really hopeful Mills can cross off QB check box so Texans aren't forced into reaching.

He’s a bad boy. Would be nice if we landed him. He has the potential to be a top dog (defensively) in the NFL.

Stingley and Thibodeaux are currently my #1 and #2 ranked defensive players in next yrs draft. I've got Stingley ranked #1 but this is subject to change. If they could use the picks for the Pervert to get Stingley and their pick to get Thibodeaux that would set up the defense for yrs to come. It's possible this could happen, especially after trading up in the 1st rd with the extra picks. The future would be very bright.
