Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

...He knew there was enough there that it could get bad, it’s why after the first one he retained Hardin, so he should have taken the easy way out, paid the money, got a NDA signed and then learned to stay off Instagram.
I find this a bit interesting because the Chronicle is reporting this morning that Buzbee has stated that one of the allegations has occurred "after he (Buzbee) already had spoken with Watson's attorney."

Last week???? This seems a bit ridiculous. When was Hardin retained?

Wow............

This is bad

Should have gone to team therapist who got swabbed and temp checked. This is weak and now seems very guilty trying this weak ass defense.

Not gonna fly.

Freaking 22 women now? There are too many now. Might go criminal if DA thinks his a predator.

Bad advise by agent to jump out of contract, bad advise to not settle behind scenes of all the people, he should have known Watsons tendencies.
It’s very weak and definitely makes him look guilty. Admitting to searching out for these masseuses, he cannot explain flying some in

Lawyer for Deshaun Watson’s Accusers Addresses Skeptics
“This case is about female empowerment, taking the power back,” said Tony Buzbee, who represents seven women in lawsuits accusing the Texans quarterback of civil assaults.
  • A former Marine, Buzbee lives an outsize life. He has an office on the 73rd floor of the tallest building in Houston and drives a Ferrari. He also ran for mayor in 2019.

He has worked on personal injury cases for years, but is perhaps best known for his involvement in mass tort and class action cases, including the litigation following Hurricane Ike and the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico a decade ago. He does not appear to have represented many women in sexual assault and harassment cases.

  • How many of you guys voted for Buzzbutt back in 2019 when he ran against Turner ? So anyway it says here reping women in sexual assault/harassment cses is not his specialty.
  • What a pile of BS - like he's really worried about womens reputations and he's one of Trumps biggest contributors here in Houston.

Can you link it, I did a google search but it didn’t come up anything about this.

I’m not sure I get what you point is. What does it matter who did or did not vote for him? For the record I don’t live in Houston so I can’t vote for their mayor anyway but again what does it matter? Likewise ok he contributed to Trump, again what does that matter? Are you trying to say someone supporting Trump should be taken as a mark against them? If so please keep political discussion out of these forums.

As far as his specialty if you want to play that card Hardin specializes in criminal cases so what’s he doing on a civil case?

IMO, Deshaun will end up with the Patriots, whose owner, Mr. Kraft, was able to get through the massage parlor allegations.

Sorry, wish I could. I'm still unable to post from my computer. I can post from my phone but I'm not too tech savvy to do links. It was the headline story this morning, with the paragraph being quoted on page A13, bottom of the first column. I also don't have a subscription, I buy my papers off the news stand. The Chronicle, I believe, doesn't make their stories available to the public, at least so soon, without a subscription.

Something we might see from Watson when we get further down the road that is not being talked about forgot about...... a hold-in. Jalen Ramsey faked a back injury when he was with the Jaguars trying to get out. Nothing the team could do about it really, imaging shows nothing but player says it hurts.

Guilty or not I’ll say this. The NFL better get their heads out of their asses and put an end to allowing social justice concerns to express themselves during football games. DW is trying to punk the Texans and the NFL because of his “concern” for social justice while pulling this crap. Dude has zero credibility. How many others aren’t really concerned for anybody’s justice but their own.

Buzbee is the kind of guy that will do whatever it takes to win. These moves are well calculated. If he has to destroy other peoples lives to win a case he will have no qualms doing what needs to be done to win.

This cut throat attitude is why I voted for him for mayor. Like I said before with the floods/freeze you want a guy like Buzbee going after companies like Ercot.

A guy from Wisconsin giving me an unlike due to my stance that Busbee would have been a better mayor. You can't make this stuff up. LMAO.

I would love for 80 to weigh in on his guys character. Speaking of that, I wonder where Clemson Texans is, we haven't heard from him lately.

Hypocrites

Under the present circumstances, those anonymous "reports" can be considered nothing but highly questionable.
There is alot of conclusion jumping in concern to Watson. John McClain who is well connected, so they say, always give his undocumented opinion which doesn't mean much. I want even count the posters who think this is a way Watson planned to get out of Houston.

Because it’s nothing compared to the number of people that think this was, and is, a conspiracy by the Texans.

Who the hell cares what Watson is, or isn't. I doubt he'll play another down for the Texans after all this. Unless, of course, all this proves to be fraudulent claims and Buzzby gets his law license revoked and Watson comes out clean. Which will just increase Watson's value 10-fold anyway.

Just start thinking about how Watsonless the Texans are fixing to be and you'll be OK.

I dont think this is, it doesn't benefit anyone. Its really a detriment to all parties involved. Whether he's guilty or not, the energy at which its pursued will never be replicated if this is proven to be a money grab. Having 3 daughters, a wife,a mama, 2 older sisters, nieces and such, I'd prefer this to be a criminal case so that if he's proven guilty or innocent, he gets the punishment or none punishment deserved. That's not the case in civil lawsuits and that's why for the most part, its kinda sideways in my opinion. We only know what these athletes show us in public. Anyone on this board stating they knew or heard about something like this is lying. One of my close friends was a 1st rd pick in the NFL and played 10 yrs and when I hung out with him, there were certain things he did I didn't understand until he explained them to me.

I said 20 when there were 6. Now the Count is up to 22 after what 4 days? I'm going with 40.

This deserves its own thread with a poll.

all that and dancing around the world on his endless vacations. Dude is a fricken idiot with a fifteen year old mentality. Then we see a great guy like David Culley do it all right for decades, finally getting a chance and being genuinely enthusiastic only to get hammered on This board. Says a lot without saying nothing.

Head coaches in the NFL walk around with targets on their backsides anyway, it comes with the territory. Personally I'm glad we're getting rebooted. The only real thing that still disturbs me about the Texans is Eastershit is still here. Culley seems fine to me, all the other choices we talked about in here always had something I didn't like about them. Culley I don't know sh!t about, which makes it easier to support the guy. For now. LOL

Not sure what the point of all that was. All I was saying is lots of people thought and still think this was the Texans doing.

This thread is now 22 pages long but I bet if we were to poll the board "Do you think Watson is guilty of sexual assault" with the options being Yes, No, and Don't Know the majority would fall under the don't know category. But this thread reads like 12 Angry Men.

It appears that part of Watson's defense has been leaked. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ing-instagram-massage-therapists-to-covid-19/

So that will give the "jurors" of this court something more to pontificate.
Usually if it is one I would be in the "Don't Know" camp but when it is 22, that is a definite YES for me. What we have here is a Pattern of Behavior.

Man I was arguing back and forth with my kinfolk all last night. He truly think the Texans/ blank folks are behind this madness. I told him to please stop thinking in that old time mentally.

So make the thread. It would be interesting to see public opinion sway back and forth.

Him being a Trump wanna-be politician is a bigger red flag than donations. You don't exactly need a tin foil hat to see how going after Watson helps him with a certain demographic. That is what fuels the conspiracy vibe.

See that’s what makes no sense about people’s thinking. First to even try this the Texans front office have to be some true scumbag human beings, not just stupid or sleazy or incompetent or the other things we have said about them but true scum bags.

But for the sake of argument let’s say they are. To pull this off first they have to have found out about Watson’s outings, because he hasn’t denied they happened just what happened at them, then they have to find out he made at least the first one uncomfortable enough to apologize. Then they have to find who knows how many more women to go along with it.

Next they have to get one of the top lawyers in Houston, he maybe a slime ball but he’s still good at what he does, to go along with it, risk his name, license and reputation to help them keep Watson on the team and file what would be a fake claim if Texans are behind all this.

All this has to be done without any leaks from the lawyers office, the Texans organization and the women involved who if they went to the press with the message that this was all a set up would overnight have every news station in the country falling over themselves to interview them.

And the best part about this conspiracy theory is it requires the Texans to be smart enough to put this Lex Luther level plan in action but not smart enough to realize that none of it was needed because they still hold Watson’s contract and he doesn’t leave till they say he leaves. Oh and let’s not forget they have to also forget that the NFL might step in and suspend Watson’s because it makes the league look bad and they don’t need proof to do it, so Texans might have their QB on the bench anyway.

I get people are mad at the a Texans and their stupidity through the years but come on let’s use at least a little logic here.

With all due respect, this is bordering on nsz grounds and a deeper dive probably will/should be deleted here.

Hardin doesn't specialize in criminal cases.
His website actually states "focusing on civil cases".
His firm does both.

Exactly

Trash is trash, posters can try to explain the trash away but it's still trash.

Play in the trash and you're going to stink.

No what fuels the conspiracy vibe is people’s stupidity. Let’s call it like it is you are saying him going after Watson because he’s black helps Buzbee with the racist demographic. Well how big do you really think that demographic is? Especially in the most diverse city in the country.

I fully think Buzbee is using this to boost his own fame and get a crap ton of money but that is more about Watson’s fame and money than it is his skin tone. If Watson was white yeah I think Buzbeee would come after him just as hard and using the same tactics.

We all know you've been anti Watson for years. It's one thing to say he isn't as good as everyone believes. It's another to piggy back off these claims before due process. Slow it down and don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back.

Don't know if you know this or not but this is illegal. An attorney cannot solicit business and definitely cannot pay cash to get people to hire him/her.
It happens all the time in novels and movies. :ahhaha:
But seriously, in John Grisham's novels, he mentioned about it quite a bit (and he used to be a lawyer).

How many have you read?
What's the adult population of the US?

Really, you’re going to try that route? If that the case then all those PFF grades you keep pulling up what’s the ratio of football experts contributing to them? Also what qualifies them to be an expert? How many players, coaches, GMs, analysts and scouts contributed to them? How much data are they using from the history of the NFL? Who programmed their algorithms and what base data did they use? How many times has a player played above or below their grade?
