Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

I have a suspicion that this ordeal might be resolved fairly quickly - like within a month.
The only justification I can offer for this is Buzzbee himself and the way he has gone about it.
Perhaps there are some legal minds out there that can add some insight?

We should have a contest for who guesses the final tally for all the lawsuits. The winner gets a free massage and one year's supply of HEB jalapeno poppers.
I’ll pitch in my old CDs of

Niall Horan - slow hands

Christina Aguilera - Genie in a Bottle (gotta rub me the right way)

The Bobby fuller four - I fought the law

Victim blame my ass. Maybe DW's the victim. In the end, if they really are victims, then yeah, you don't blame them. But we're at the stage of identifying who is the victim and these women's character matters when listening to their side of the story.

See right there you are showing that you're not understanding what is going on. It doesn't matter if any of these women give happy endings to most clients or not. It doesn't even matter if they are hookers or not. The argument and case is that he wanted things they were uncomfortable with and they said no. When I say victim blaming I'm not saying they are the victim or Watson is the victim or if there is a victim, it is an argument and defense that has been used in the past that now will get a person hanged in the street, the "She was asking for it" argument. So yeah bringing up their character is very dangerous because it can be turned around in a heart beat. Oh and by the way we are not in the stage of identifying who the victim is, that is never what a court does.

The entirety of this mess is in the hands of Watsons lawyer now. At least he was smart enough to listen to whoever told him to immediately get one of the best lawyers out there with the money he was just given by the Texans. Probably Caserio told him to seek legal counsel.
I imagine at this point his lawyer is now giving him legal advice and his agent has disappeared from any and all advice he’s taking. Which ultimately is a very good thing.
For Watson to get out of this, his best course of action depending on the evidence Buzzbee has is to settle out of court with NDA’s and move on. That would save him from NFL discipline and keep his trade value up to be moved out of town.
He’s in a tight spot and I’m sure his lawyer knows this.

And that's why his goose is cooked, no one can prove that these women didn't say 'no'. But what you're saying is a big part of what's wrong with the me too movement imo. The woman's conduct ABSOLUTELY matters to me when there's a 50/50 chance someone is lying. If she gets to portray herself as a modest, stand up, hard working professional and we don't get to learn his version that she's advertising herself as a hoe with cucumber pics, then we're not being fair to the guy's version of what happened and his 50/50 chance of being right.
I don’t know that she’s trying to portray herself as anything other than what she is. Has she changed her profile pics since filing? If they are as you say they are, I doubt it.

I don’t believe she’s Elie May Clampett. I’m saying she could be Heidi Fleis for all I care. If she said no, it means no.

I’m not saying she said no. She said she said no & if she & her lawyer can prove it Watson is in trouble. If she & her lawyer can’t prove it Watson is in trouble.

Even if it turns out all 15 possible claimants are sex workers, Watson is in trouble. The only way out is for Watson to prove some convoluted conspiracy against him & that’s going to be even harder to prove than the sex workers said yes.

Thanks for this.👍
I think it is in Watson's best interest to move on quickly also.
He does not want this to linger on.
There is no way he can come out of this with his reputation untarnished so take the hit and move on.

You know, the more this goes on and the more info comes out, I’m wondering if a team that wants him did this to force his value to drop.

Yeah. Why would she work with him again if he sexually harassed her the first time?

To record the interaction. He could have been set up.

If NFL players have been doing this for a while - getting a masseuses from Instagram, then maybe one of them got wise on how to make a quick buck.

While he was face down asking for more oil she could have turned her video recorder on her phone.

If she did the full happy ending the first two times, then the third time she was like no it makes me uncomfortable but did it anyway because of “pressure” and recorded it - boom. She got him. And then DW texts “Sorry.” That’s bad.

And then again she could be telling the truth 100% and he is 100% guilty.

Stay tuned.

Definitely possible

I’m positive that is what these “masseuse’s” were doing.
Watson got careless with his BJs and they started talking about who he was and how much money he was just paid.
So they set him up. And he was too ignorant to realize what was happening to him.
That’s why this is so concerning and disturbing.
What will Watson do in 2 years? What will he attempt to, “get away with”?
It’s a red flag if there ever was one.

The whole thing is Buzbee self-promoting. The Instagram posts that are all about himself, the press conference will be too. He found a famous case to latch on to, and it allows him to appeal to a certain demographic for his political ambitions. Doesn't make the case wrong, or Buzbee wrong, but certainly makes the whole thing feel off. It doesn't make Watson innocent either.

It's impossible for us non-lawyers to know the finer points of the law, but video/audio taping someone without their consent is illegal in Texas, at least under some circumstances. Unless such recordings are legal in this specific case and exist, I don't seeing this moving into criminal court. As pointed out, it's a case of she said, he said. The big question: What proof is there she said "no"; and what proof is there that he "forced her"? Even if one believes DW is a scumbag, what can be proven?

Buzbee is good at what he does, but the guy is a straight up clown. It’s obvious that he’s in this for self promotion just as much as he’s in it for a perceived to injustice that was done. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. The way he’s promoting himself on IG and releasing this stuff to the media is, in my opinion, very unprofessional and reeks of entitlement and arrogance.
He is definitely doing this to sway public perception and trying this in the court of public opinion before it hits the court, which at this point I doubt is gonna happen anyway. Not saying one way or the other, but DWs best course of action is a settlement with a NDA attached to it and get the heck out of dodge. He’s basically been labeled a pariah by most of the fans in Htown with his wanting to leave, and this is just icing for those fans now. He needs to wave his no trade clause and go wherever they will accept him and start fresh. Even if this is all a BS money grab, DW will never be accepted back by most fans here.
It sucks we waited for so long to get a Super Bowl caliber QB and it all went to heck before we knew it.

The NFL has slush funds for these kind of problems. Teams have slush funds and Agents have funds for these type of problems. I expect this to go away sooner than later. Buzbee has played it like a fiddle..:sweep:

No because it doesn't matter what "treatment" others got it only matters whether she said no to Watson or not. Even then 5th amendment says they don't have to incriminate themselves and seeing as that is illegal yeah you would never get anyone to agree to that. Sure let me testify that I committed an illegal act, have my whole life ruined, get added to the sex offender registration and be prosecuted because defense can't offer immunity deals all to help a millionaire football player looking for a happy ending. Oh yeah you'd have people lining up for that. :shades:

first this really wasn’t my main point. But I’d be willing to bet he could find someone that would admit to more than a massage. Hardin could possibly get All the info he might need from the vice squad. Doesn’t sound like these women are in the business of giving sport massages. he wouldn’t need much to throw doubt into the “no” position. but my point was that it seems this isn’t about that he said-she said junk. Hardin could just say he hired a hooker and be done with it. It’s about what I’m hearing that there was “forced” sexual contact, sodomy, rape, whatever it was. I was responding initially to a post that inferred this was a shakedown for a settlement But I wasn’t so sure because that charge went beyond civil to criminal. Just didn’t sound like shakedown material to me.

This is why lawyers make the big bucks.

If a person feels threatened can they record the other person without their permission to protect themself? Will a judge allow it?

I am not thinking that they want to go criminal. They either just want a pay day or Watson to be shamed because of what he forced them to do and how he made them feel.

Putting aside the fact that his NFL football career lasted less than 3 years Stoerner attended Lee High school in Baytown, as someone that lives in Baytown I wouldn't trust him to tell how to operate a toilet. :kitten:
I got out of Baytown quick as I could.

Common doesn't always equal a good idea however in this case it "appears" and we don't know all the facts but DW is wanting to get funky. That would be uncommon for actual massage services. Again, just what is going through his head to try and pull this with non-willing participants? Must be ego. "She won't be able to resist me".

Watson took
Intro To Get Traded with prof. Harden
And
How To Treat A Woman with prof. Ray Rice

It may matter to you on a forum but technically character is not admissable in civil court cases to prove conduct.

okay so here's my thery on what actually happend. I think that Watson had set himself up with just one masseuse to go after him and then he'd just settle right after the news came out but when the other massage ladies heard about it they jumped on board to get that $$$ and the whole thing is blowing up in his face now because he has too many ladies going after him. He really should have just faked he is gay or something much more simple because this is NOT turning out how it was supposed too.

IDN...I see video surveillance cameras all over the place that are used in court to prove guilt or innocence all the time.

So if the law is the same as over here those cameras are always surrounded by signs warning of their operation, and only allowed in certain areas.

Covertly filming/recording someone would be a violation of rights and inadmissible as evidence.

I agree but I dont agree that most fans wouldn’t accept him back if innocent. Don’t think that would be a problem but he’s going to have to change his attitude in general, shut up, work hard and clean up the perv thing because the fan base has a lot of kids. People can forgive a lot, probably more than they should.

In addition to Welsh Texan's post, I would add that these surveillance cameras are in "public" locations. By law, there is no expectation of privacy in public.

May be why Buzzbee did not pursue criminal charges. The video would most likely be allowed in a civil suit, depending on the judge.

So who cares who these women are, what they've done in the past, if they advertise their massage services on IG with half naked pics and cucumbers in their hands, if they claim to be assaulted and yet came back to him two more times again -- none of it matters because they might have said no and we're supposed to believe them just because they're the woman and he's the man? Complete BS. Victim blame, she was asking for it, call it whatever you want. DW deserves a fair shake and how these women portrayed themselves on IG is part of determining whether their side of the story is believable or not. And if their IG account and how they portrayed themselves (character) isn't admissible (I'll be shocked if it isn't) then we're just running kangaroo courts where men are guilty and women aren't. You guys would hate to have people who think like you on the jury if you were ever accused of sexual assault and were innocent.

You do realize u could have a wife who doesn't want 2 do it and if you put it in it is actually rape, right? Just because a woman gives u a hj one time doesn't mean she can't say no later on.

Where have you been the last 20 years? That pretty much covers it which is why it is so important for men to be aware of these types of situations and no allow themselves to get put in those types of situations.

I thought of that too, but it is starting to look like opportunism on the part of Buzbee and the plaintiffs.
For example, no polices reports have been filed. It also has the smell of hindsight complaining.
To me, the needle has swung back Watson's way.
I'm not saying he is completely innocent in this as he obviously made some poor decisions.
However, looking at other similar cases involving high profile people, these things do tend to get a little overblown and eventually fade from people's consciousness.
I don't see his value decreasing by much.
I do think Texans may hold out a bit longer - just to drive the price back up.
My $0.02c
