You might be too old for that job. Maybe the head janitors job is open. Just as long as you're doing the bible studies at lunch time. Lol
I am not too old to be full of bull! And you should know that by now LOL. It has been a while but I have done janitors jobs including cleaning out the toilet. So I am not only full of it but have handled it. I have also lead many Bible studies so I QUALIFY!

Thought you'd realize I was having fun at my own expense..in these times I need to laugh and what better target than myself. Off and on since I was 16 I worked in supermarkets. one of my first jobs was cleaning out bathrooms. Also as I've mentioned probably too many times, in boot camp I was the head of a crew cleaning the heads [bathrooms]. That's how I know S when I hear it... :smiliedance:

How does it take pressure off a pass rush that doesn’t exist? And don’t you have that backwards? A pass rush is supposed to take pressure off the secondary, not the other way around. The best DBs get beat when the QB has days to throw. So, while having Howard would be great, I think it makes little difference without a pass rush.
What pass-rushers are available draft or free agency that we can afford? Shutdown corner eliminate one half of the field for the quarterback to pass. That gives time for Omenihu, Greenard and Ejiofor to apply pressures. That's why we drafted them right? If our new defensive coaching cannot turn these three players and to satisfactory pressure Maybe we need to make a change before we get started
. With Howard opposite him, Roby should have a season like Howard did in 2020 with the Miami Dolphins. I don't want to spend too much on either side of the ball but improved both in 2021.

Edit. Thanks JB!

So .... Assuming the Texans move on from Watson.

I see Zach Wilson as being the best QB in this draft - Yes , better than Trevor Lawrence and while not as good as Watson today , the potential is there , making it easier to pull the plug on the Watson era.

Would the Texans draft a Mormon ?

Seems to me no way the Easterby Texans draft that guy ...

Someone convince me that if the Texans had the #2 pick they wouldn't screw this up.
So if Easterby is a culture coach and such, should we not be able to draft talented guys and he coaches them on the culture side. What the heck is his job if we draft and hire FA that already conform? Seems to easy for him. Let's draft talented guys and work the culture side eh?

Although I think Ohmenihu is going to become a starting solid level DE ( A great 5th rd value pick.) I dont think he will ever be more than an avg pass rusher regardless of coaching. I also dont think Greenard has the ntural bend/burst to be a dynamic pass rusher. They're going to have to acquire one of those in the draft. (I like either of the Smith's in the 3rd rd.)

What Florio fails to mention is that shooting was back in June...

Thank you. For a minute there I thought it happened in January.

What happened in 2020, stays in 2020

Greenard, Omenihu and Ejifor? A trio who combined to have the same number of sacks as JJ? Which was 5 BTW.

Look, if Howard is on this team it means Watson isn't, so it's really not going to matter much. How much does Howard help the run D? You see, it's not just pass rushers and DBs this team needs, they need run stuffers too.

A better scheme, better coaching, maybe that helps. But what you've got to consider too is the talent evaluators who brought these guys in here. Are they really even that talented? I mean, look at the impact of the last 3 drafts. You got nothing out of the '20 draft. The '19 draft wasn't much better. Howard has yet to finish a season, Scharping was benched, Warring can't get on the field. The 5th rounder Omenihu is so far the best of that bunch. And of the 8 players taken in the '18 draft, Reid, Akins and Coutee are your top 3 performers there. And that ain't saying much. Say what you want about Rick Smith in rounds 4-7, the last 3 years the Texans have been horrible 1-7.

This thing is an absolute disaster, and there's not a lot they can do about it right now, especially if the Pastor has any say, where tons of good talent with substandard character profiles, likely gets left off their board.

Agreed, but that's nothing new. That's the Texans way & has been since the beginning.

There was a time when the Texans could draft talented high character guys. Will Fuller, Jj Watt, Demeco Ryan, Ben Jones, Brandon Brooks.

But you know... last 5 years or so the focus was drafting players for a coach who couldn't coach.

Houston Texans to win the Super Bowl next year:

Betting $100 wins $15,000 at both DraftKings & Bovada sportsbooks.

That's a large payback.

That is a throwaway of $100!
Probably so. I was surprised by the size of the payback though. It must have Watson leaving factored into the $15k. We are the lowest team on the totem pole on Draftkings and tied for low team with Jax & Detroit at Bovada.

Is anyone going to bash our rivals for only helping out with $100,000. I know some were very critical about Cal only helping out with $500,000.
Last time I looked, Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Nashville weren't in Houston.

They still made a contribution. How many of us on here made a contribution to the cause? $500,000 is better than not helping at all.
I applaud them for it. I really do.

Cynical me: But, why do I even know about it? You can donate without getting credit.

Again, not gonna' fault anyone for charity work in a world in need.

Buuuuuut - cynical me again - it's 0.0128205128% of her worth. For me, that would be like donating. . .(uses fingers & toes). . .$1.20.

They probably would have donated $250,000 if the McNair's ante'd up a cool million.

So let's compare her contribution to Houston team owners.

Seriously Doc, it's their money. They didn't have to give anything.

You are correct, but like some of the other Texans................the PR machine did not need to get cranked up for a donation that will not even tax their ability to write it off. A "cool million" MAY have been worthy of recognition. But, as persons smarter than I have said, charity should be done in silence and with dignity. One cannot speak about their charitable acts because it then loses its purpose.

They give 10 bucks or 10 million, who cares? And I mean that in a sense that it has nothing to do with football which is the only thing that gives the name Houston Texans meaning to me. If David Johnson gave his time and money to a charitable cause, good for him and more importantly the charity he’s giving to. It still doesn’t mean I want him on this football team.

The Texans do a ton of charitable work, make tons of donations. I’m not going to judge them for how much they donate or which charities they choose to donate to. Most of us give what we can to our charities of choice. IMO, it's just something you're supposed to do, if you've got the means to do so. That said, most of us aren't plastering those contributions all over social media trying to gain favor either. That, to me, says more about you than the amount of a contribution.

Now, I get the world we live in where anything a big business does, particularly one heavily in the public eye like a sports franchise is, usually comes with a photo op. So that is what it is. I do think it's one thing for reporters to report that, and quite another having your own PR machine pumping it out there on every social platform there is. Hey! Looky what we did!

So thank you Janice for helping out when you didn't have to, whatever it is you chose to give. Now let's get back to this dumpster fire called a football team, which is why any of us even know what your name is.
