BILL O'BRIEN FIRED

Pancakes just had a session on NFLN’s NFL Now. He said OBrien the GM got the HC fired. Also said if we had won this last game, thanks WFV’s hands, OB would still be here. Also said this was Cal’s call and not Easterby. He was asked who would pick the GM and HC; Cal was his answer.
That's why I thought Vikings game would be turning point. First three losses arguable, 0-3 Minny? Uh uh. No way. Cal in charge but mom owns the Texans.

Lol, its amazing how these guys are so inept at analyzing their own rationale. It's also hilarious considering that before Mahomes, Matt Nagy was that same great coach and OC who had somehow coached up Alex Smith & gotten Alex Smith to look better than he'd ever looked in his entire career in KC. Well, why couldn't he do that with Mitch Trubisky..a guy they moved up in the draft and was his handpicked guy? Why has their offense looked almost as bad as ours in his tenure in Chicago?

Bienemy at the time was just a RB coach & wasn't being considered for anything. Now, b/c he has the title of OC & got to preside over the beginning of the Mahomes era, he's supposed to be this great offensive mind & HC in waiting................ when he's only been "allegedly" calling plays for 3 years? He might very well be a great HC, but c'mon folks use your common sense.
Says the guy that loved and defended Bill Obrian daily.

FWIW John McClain said there’s “no chance” the Texans bring in anyone else from the Patriots organization... including McDaniels and Caserio. He said they’re done with the patriots guys. He made it sound like he’s plugged in directly with Cal. So I believe it.
Was that before or after he said they wouldn't fire BO'b after going 0-4

I don't dude doesn't know what is going on with the team until they email him the press release. If rev snakeoilsalesman still has a say on who they hire the likelihood of it being someone from the Pats goes up a lot.

Gotta' take Pancakes with a grain of salt. I appreciate his tenure as an NFL reporter, but his takes are just guesses like the rest of us. He sucks up to the Texans front office so he doesn't lose his press credentials and weekly spots on local sports talk radio.

Maybe he's finally talking with some clarity now that his balls have been taken out of Lord OB's vise like grip.

I'm more interested in 2021 draft. 2018 with three picks in the third round he got Justin Reid and Jordan Akins; he missed on rankins. We should be able to get significant players in round three four and 5.
Why is this post here? So, hmmm smoked myself stupid, I guess.
I know watson was never your guy and you've already deemed him a fail, but just like you were willing to give OB a pass for the three or so years with Rick smith, some of us are doing the same for watson with OB.

I won't give up on the kid until I see him under the new coach
Fair enough. But, unfortunately, I'm old and have seen this before and worry that Watson may already be Carr'ed.
Just in case you are late, first down will be run up middle.
This is just mean.
Hopes deleted..

McClain often knows more than he's telling .... He's got sources within the team , players , coaches and ownership..
Its a fact that media is handcuffed ... Their credentials are definitely on the line if certain things get out.

Maybe he's finally talking with some clarity now that his balls have been taken out of Lord OB's vise like grip.

That vice grip wasn't OB's .... its higher than that.

I have to say that as much as I wanted O'Brien fired I really respect the fact that he showed up to answer some questions after being let go. You don't see that many HCs do that. As far as I am concerned he bowed out with a lot of class.
Heck, give me $5M x whatever many years on that contract and the buy out, and I'll show you what class looks like.
:ahhaha:

I'll just keep a cool Mil and donate the rest.

I do not doubt he knows more. But, I think his value is after the fact. I think he's given information after an event - say O'Brien's firing - and he's probably reliable on the toxic work environment and apparently consistent ahole-ness of O'Brien. Folks confide in him when they know it's safe to do so.

It's before things happen - when he's speculating - that I have my doubts about McClain. I've heard him exclaim more than once in the past month that Billy would be here through 2021 unless the team posted a 2-14 record. And he was adamant about it (almost defiant when questioned). He never ever said anything about a hot seat at 0-4 before Monday.
