Watson’s a top 5 qb. Do you agree?

You post a clip of one of the worst clowns in sports media and that is supposed to make it true?

Last I checked all three of those QB's were in the playoffs. Brees had an MVP caliber season, and Rodgers lost in the NFC Championship game, and Brady only lost to the AFC Championship game Titans because their RB couldn't punch it in on the GL which was the difference in their game.

How did any of them go away? That may be what Steven A Smith and folks like yourself want to happen, but it didn't and it still hasn't.

I can’t stand Steven A but that clown is making I think 10 million a year. He’s also very knowledgeable and pretty darn entertaining. ESPN loves that clown.

They want it really bad.

What I want is for DW4 to becomes more like Mahomes.

What does his inflated salary have to do with anything? He works for one of the dumbest media outlets that exists today who had a ton of layoffs the last few years directly because of Steven A. Smith and a ton of other foolish characters from that network that John Skipper hired before he was let go for doing coke every day on the job (No surprise there)

Sure if your standards are for lies and fake news and errors on air all day long. The only complimentary thing I'd say about Steven A. Smith is that he isn't as bad as his counter part Max Kellerman. ESPN can love him all they want, but they and him are also a huge reason why the NBA is currently struggling with viewership so bad. His constant dumb ideas and their awful exclusive coverage on the sport have driven a ton of viewers out of there just like their own company has.

Not that i disagree, but knowing your politics, the bolded is hilarious coming from you.

You can't make an argument one way or the other.

Steven A Smith provides examples practically every day that I can provide as examples. He has a black audience that spends half the time attacking him racially even on his own show their content is so bad. But in the end they still watch him faithfully. You're part of that and that's also why you came in to defend him with off topic accusations about me. You used to make the same laughable arguments about Jemele Hill and Michael Smith and we all saw what a fail that was.

Jesus dude did you even read all of my post? Here let me help:

See the bolded?

As for the rest, Lol, most people I know can't stand Stephen A. I'm indifferent to him. But he appeals to more than just the "black audience" & ESPN wouldn't be dropping the coin they are for dude if he didn't. For you to categorize him as you have says more about you & your obviously skewed view.

Where are all of his white fans? I've never met one in my life. Its mainly only brothers I know that actually like him, and again they make him a lightning rod of controversy any time he isn't on the "woke" side of things. He was recently just called an Uncle Tom on his own show for not being Pro Kaepernick and the show itself did nothing to stand up for him while he was racially insulted by a guy that was the league's biggest cancer. I mean you can say that others watch him but where? He's on every show they broadcast, and he probably works at least 60 hours a week. There is no escaping the guy if you try to get any sports coverage on cable tv. He's mainly just a loudmouth character that people reference because they have to, but he's a constant lightning rod for "race issues" and political stuff even after ESPN was forced to fire those other personalities who went even further. Again, I could load examples for days that would get almost any type of employee fired if they worked anywhere else.

Dude they’re all over his radio show. All because you and your group doesn’t like him doesn’t mean he don’t have an audience. The ratings are very high that’s why ESPN paid him big time.

See what I mean .. baby boomers cant even tell what a "BURNER" account is, and understand sarcasm. Instead its a direct attack on their conservative values and the green light to go off into a NSZ type tangent. Hilarious!!

Where are the ratings so high? You'd have to be specific on that and on what show? Just because he may be more popular than some of the other bad talents on their day time shows doesn't make him good, nor does it

This was back around the end of 2018 where ESPN's main hosts of all their shows ran off a bunch of viewers. They still are.

It continues

And of course they've had PR team after PR team try to mansplain their losses by blaming cord cutting at every turn, but none of the people they were forced to fire have done anything worthy in their careers and those on their main shows are the ones that actually got tons and tons of employees fired on their layoffs. They are the ones that ran off the viewers.

What joke did you actually have? The one at the bottom of your screen that shows how childish you are in the fact that you're incapable of worthy discussion with half of this forum? A burner account is the only way you could go 4 consecutive posts without being in at least 3 arguments explaining your foolishness. Otherwise, the minute people see the screen name they already know.

It took him that long and he runs the personnel side of the Chiefs without the title. He's also the OC and it only took him 18 yrs to win a championship.

Sounds a lot like BOB's resume? Only 12 more yrs to go and counting.
you missed the part about Reid getting along with other people
Reid isn't the GM, Dorsey is. Reid and Dorsey report to the owner on equal terms (somehow Reid made that set-up work, unlike O'Brien)
And if O'Brien does follow Reid's path, his SB win will come with his next team since Reid spent his first 14 yrs, as a head coach, with the Eagles.

Reid is defacto GM if not dejure
Correction to my previous post....
Dorsey is out. Brett Veach is the current Chief GM. Apparently he was brought over from Philly.

Brett Veach (born December 19, 1978)[1] is an American football executive currently serving as the general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League. Prior to being the Chiefs general manager, he was the Chiefs' co-director of player personnel.[2] He began his career as an assistant for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004, eventually moving up and becoming a scout.[3]
Veach attended the University of Delaware, where he also played college football. From 1998 to 2001, he played running back, wide receiver, and return specialist for the Fightin' Blue Hens.[4] Veach's teammates included quarterback Matt Nagy, whom Veach invited to join the Eagles in 2009.[5] The two followed Eagles head coach Andy Reid to the Chiefs in 2013.

That doesn't look like Reid is the "defacto" GM to me. That looks like what GM/HC "alignment" should be. Unlike O'Brien who makes power plays that seem to get his GMs fired.

Veatch is actually the GM and Reid has final say in personnel. That's why Dorsey left to become GM of the Browns from which he's since been fired. (Again)

I would say Veatch/Reid have the same relationship BOB/Easterby and if he comes here after the draft Caserio will have, even with different titles.

Reid reached the Conference Championship in season 3, 4, and 5... then finally broke through and got to the Super Bowl in year 6.

BOB has yet to get to a Conference Championship game.

So no, not similar resumes.

...and then did it with yet another team. O'Brien isn't even a poor-man's Reid yet.

12 more yrs.

LMAO, and might I add, I couldn't begin to see how much entertainment (As DB said it's all about entertainment) I would get out of seeing this MB if BOB was GM/HC for the next 12 yrs. (Even you wouldn't say that wouldn't be very entertaining.)

NFCCG in Year 3 with the Eagles. AFCCG in year 6 with the Chiefs.
O'Brien isn't in the same Area Code as Reid.
Wake me up when he makes his first Conference Championship game.

LMAO indeed.

Basically, it took Andy Reid 4 seasons to get his team to become a perennial top 10 offense. Bill O'Brien, after 6 years, still trying to get out of the bottom half.

Andy Reid then basically did the same thing in KC. He took almost the worst offense in football and quickly transformed it to one of the best. It was already top 10, even before Mahomes & Tyreek got there.

I really can't believe there are people saying Reid & BOB are equal?

2 yrs without RS and as RS parting shot he stuck BOB with DW4

We have another 5-10 yrs of this regardless of the HC

Regardless of HC? The HC is also the GM. The decision to retain DW4, or acquire additional talent, IS currently 100% on our HC. If BOB doesn't like DW4, he has the power to get rid of him.

Gotcha. Ricky's fault.

Just thinking out loud. With Rick Smith, Richard Smith put together one of the worst defenses in the league.

With Rick Smith, Frank Bush put together one of the worst defenses in the league.

With Rick Smith, Gary Kubiak was able to put together one of the best offenses in the league.

With Rick Smith Wade Phillips was able to put together one of the best defenses in the league.

With Rick Smith Romeo Crennel was able to put together one of the best defenses in the league.

With Rick Smith O'Brien has managed to assemble one of the worst offenses in the league.

Without Rick Smith O'Brien has managed to put together one of the worst offenses in the league.

So if I were to separate these guys into two groups, I'd put Wade, Romeo, & Gary in one group & Smith, Bush, & O'Brien in the other.

But you don't see it that way, right?

Yep,

we don't disagree on that
we disagree on the why

you've swapped out all the auxiliary pieces/personnel.
there's only one thing common to all the fails and he's somehow still here.
if Cal ever figures that out, O'Brien might be "doomed"

Yep

It was going to take 3 years to overcome RS incompetence.

I'm not sure BOB is the guy to do it

I hope he is because he's going to be here atleast another 3 years.

I do know that regardless of the HC there will be no championship's with DW4

I agree with a lot of your takes, but not this one. Do you think DW4 is just not capable to win a championship? Or do you think DW4 cannot win one under OB's offensive philosophy? Personally I think DW4 is plenty good enough to win it all in any scheme as long as the supporting cast is up to the task as well.

I think DW4/BOB are a bad match

I also think DW4 has to modify his style of play to have a chance to win a championship. Some have done this but it's very rare and I dont see DW4 being able to do this.

Even if he is able to change his game his ceiling is limited due to accuracy/anticipation issues.

BOB did change what he wants to do to better fit DW4's skillset. Defenses have caught up to what DW4 wants to do.

Because to win you have to be able to stay patient step up in the pocket and deliver a throw with accuracy/anticipation. You're 1st thought shouldn't be run Deshaun run.

You can design some plays to move him around some, but winning championships requires being able to read defenses and throwing from the pocket. Scrambling should be an option of last resort.

This your opinion and you post it on a weekly basis and I will continue to agree to disagree with this opinion.

Out of curiosity, if all it takes to win championships is for a QB to be able to stay in the pocket and read defenses, why didn’t Marino win a championship? Why has Drew Brees won ONE in 19 years? What about Rivers?

You say DW4 & BOB are a bad match, which I agree with. But why say it's DW4 that has to change? Why can't it be BOB has to change?

This man plays the same way as Jackson, Wilson, Rodgers and even Mahomes ( he takes off to if it isn’t there) But he needs to change up his style of play.

Does Allen, Golf, and Murray have to change up their style too?

Does Matt Ryan have to change up his style since he can’t win it as a stand in the pocket QB?

Dont forget Deshaun Watson doesnt know a thing about this "pocket passing" phenomenon. LOL (Watson had the leagues highest QB rating when kept clean in a "pocket")

Young mentioned that Jackson should continue to develop his game and follow Watson's lead of being able to win from the pocket.

"I think until further notice to play championship football, you're gonna have to be the orchestrator from the pocket," Young said during the pregame of Monday Night Football. "You can't make enough plays, as electrifying as they are, and proven by Deshaun Watson, he should watch Deshaun Watson."

Young continued, "Deshaun has said I can be as electrifying as anybody, but I'm going to play the position. Lamar has said, I want to learn the position as well. That doesn't mean you can't be electrifying. It doesn't mean you can't run around and make some tremendous plays."

When playing quarterback, Young was considered a runner before a passer, and he understands the importance of being a passer from the pocket in the NFL.

Young likes the development of Watson and how he has been performing as a passer in the Texans offense.

"That means that foundationally, I am going to be rooted at this quarterback orchestrating from the pocket," Young continued. "If Lamar can follow Deshaun's footsteps because Deshaun is doing that. They both can be, to me, outlawed. They should be outlawed from the NFL. If they pull this off because they will not be stopped.

But what does Steve Young know about football?? LOL
