Texans @ Chiefs - 2nd Round (And Round 2)

Written by a true homer. I would expect nothing less
Very True. BUT.....It does give you some insight as to where team is now vs week 6. Chiefs got a reality check with that loss. Chiefs made big changes after that loss. Chiefs could have, should have, beat Green Bay with a back up QB that was a high school coach 8 weeks earlier. Only a MIRACLE play by Rogers and receivers turned it into a loss. Chiefs beat Minn with that same back up QB. Chiefs loss to Tenn with a blocked kick under 1 minute remaining and then a complete brain fart on D. So Hous is facing a KC team with six consecutive wins that easily could have been 10. So for me...thanks Texans for giving KC that much needed wake up call!

No doubt the Chiefs are the favorites and should win in a blowout, but...

Why? Yes, I agree the Chiefs are the favorites, but why should they win in a blowout? We beat the Chiefs in week 6.... why all of a sudden should they blow us out?

Do you trust the defense?

Crazy Info: Texans are -7 in point differential...which is rare for a 10-6 team. By contrast, KC is +143. This translates as the Chiefs outscored their opponents by 150 points more than the Texans.

Numbers Schmumbers, it’s the playoffs. None of that s*** matters now. My expectations are low because we never know what Texans team will show up but, that’s why they play on Sunday. Let’s pray for an injury free game on both sides of the ball and see what happens.

Texans will need to test the run game early but I certainly wouldn't do it during the first couple of offensive possessions. I'd definitely utilize play-action and look for a TE sliding across the middle and into the zone for an early first down. Then I'd look over the top of the defense for Fuller. I'd get to the running game......just not out of the gate. Take the Chiefs out of their prepared defensive plan early.

Makes sense. It would be nice to see the narrative go from us to trying to keep up to them trying to. Punch them hard first. I must admit that I was having nightmares and Scary flashbacks in the first half of the Bills game. I don’t want to go through that again. But watching Watson takeover and the Defense show up was like some kinda reward for all the bad times. There was a huge sense of confidence that overcame me watching Watt walk out to the middle of the field before overtime.

Texans need to start against the Chiefs the way they finished against the Bill’s. I can’t wait.

Texan Asylum that Dumb & Dumber bit was hilarious. Thank you for that. I just watched that movie last night.

You say it’s a wake up call like the Texans are a 3A Freshman Football Team. This team is very talented, the coaching is an issue, but don’t act like the Texans beating KC was some kind of 1 in a million fluke.

Losing to the Colts should have been the wake up call.

Everyone, I mean almost everyone is writing this game off as a Chiefs blowout. It could very well be if OB brings the bad Texans.

Reminds me when the Astros won the World Series.

First it was all New York. Then it was all LA.

That’s Houston sports.

But - true statement on OB.

Thats all you feeling defensive. I made no such comments. Wake up call could mean.....if you want to beat a really good team you better!

Hmm. Only Texas rooting for the Texans.

I wonder if it has to do with, oh I don’t know, the name.

My concern......will OB be willing to quickly adjust his gameplan if the Chiefs have the ability to stop the run game early?

My concern is will we have a good gameplan going in that everyone buys in.

If so, then we shouldn't deviate, but be honest about whether we are or are not on schedule. If we're behind, how far & what do we need to do to get on schedule.

Chiefs this, Chiefs that, etc. Is it warranted? Chiefs are a talented team, but the Texans are too.

Doesn't make sense to me the Texans are 9.5 point dogs. We already beat them, this season at Arrowhead.

& that's up from the opening line.

It's not just Houston who is jaded.

Do you trust the defense?

Ours or KC's?

We're the same, them & us. Except that their offense shows out week after week & we hamstring (no pun intended) ours (with coaching, with penalties, with poor decisions from the QB).

& that's been the theme of sports radio in Houston this week. If the Texans let them hang & play like it's the last game they'll ever play, pray for KC & the poor bastatds who invest too much of themselves in the winning & losing of that team.

If

Punch them hard first.

I am sure that is the plan of every coach going into every game. But things rarely play out the way we want them to.

People are saying we can't get down to the Chiefs by 16 & expect to win the game.

The same people are saying, "We beat them last time."

Hello, we were down 17-3 at the end of the 1st qtr. What would be more accurate would be to say we can't wait until the 4th qtr to start punching back.

We owned the 2nd qtr of that game 20-0. They scored 7 points in the 2nd half, we scored 8.

So, I'm begging you Texans fans... please, please, puhleese don't loose faith if the trend continues & we lose the 1st qtr.

Don't curse O'Brien, or Tunsil, or Connoly, or whoever you believe is at fault. Stand behind your team. Hope that they will figure it out & win as they have time & time again.

Hope. It's all we've got.

This is why you can’t trust regular season stats. Too many variables with teams. Players missing games, players picked up or traded, etc. Passion in the playoffs. Players may take plays off in the regular season they don’t do in the playoffs.

Take it one game at a time. Any given Sunday.

Somebody has to be great. Why not the Texans?

Don't bother responding to him... he's ignoring you. He desires no conversation

True Thunderkiss. I just don’t want to the go to the “we’ll win in the 4th quarter“ well 1 too many times. I like Optmistic Texans concept of starting more aggressive and that’s my punch them hard first take. Don’t get me wrong. The Texans previous comebacks definitely keep me believing to the end. When it’s all said and done, I don’t care how we win. I do believe we have a solid chance. Otherwise, what’s the point in even watching? Nobody knows until it’s over. Go Texans.

I wasn’t wanting a comment from him, just using his post to make a point to any overly confident Chief fans and the Debbie Downer Texan fans.

Man....... it seems that OB manages criticism about as well as he handles the GM/HC/OC positions.

It should have been handled more like this:

1)
"You suck!"

"Soz your mom!"

2)
"You Suck!"
"Soz your Wife"

3)
"You Suck!"

"Soz your paycheck!"

and a calm walk off into the locker room to worry about the second half.

I agree lol let’s just hope the chief fans doesn’t get to him. I have a feeling they will

This is not about fan bases sadness, history, regret, past failures or success and its not about grief. Its a game and only one of these really good teams ,with really good young QBs can win. Nobody is a loser. Teams that get to this stage are winners. The winner of this game gets to play another game that will repeat this same narrative.

Its only a game. Its entertainment. Its not about the talking heads. Hell Cowherd was wrong on all 4 games last week. Its should be fun. Sure its less fun when KC loses a game but again its a game. I think some fans let it become devastating. Thats unfortunate for them.

Its likely the players move on quickly, get paid big bucks even in a loss and are likely having fun the day after a loss.
