FIRE O'BRIEN NOW!!!

OK, perhaps a better comparison was Belichick's first 5 season's record of 36-45 compared to O'Brien's first 5 season's record of 42-38?

My point is for an organization to have sustained sucess you need stability, coaching and perhaps most important, the field general, the QB.

For a coach starting his career, OB has had above average sucess, without a really good QB. We now have a QB.

You simply don't destroy the stability of an organization when it has been sucessful; and particularly when you are finally putting in place the players needed for a run at the next level.
We had gone through this at length some time ago.
What O'Brien inherited here was very different from what BB had in Cleveland.

And it had been mentioned also that when BB left Cleveland, he left a team with a good foundation for the next HC.

In OB's 6th year, OB had to borrow from the future.

He needs three Fuller type receivers to make the offense work. Because if one goes down he can just substitute another one to go in.

Can we have a nice round of "Fire OB" now? I don't think we're gonna need to wait on the 2nd half.

I have shifted my feelings about OB. When the season is over he is gone. This should be the game that gets OB Fired if there ever was one. I don't mean the first half either. I mean the last two minutes of regulation. We have the ball ahead 19-16 in FG range on 4th and 1 and OB goes for it. That would have put us up by 6 and OT would have never happened. That is pretty standard strategy as far as I know. A six point lead is much better than three. Fire the SOB. == Yes I wrote this after the game was over.

I hate BO'b

But I didn't see a problem with the play calling.

I would have used Duke more & Hyde less (Hyde just looks like he lost his wind), even though it looks like Duke was used more today, I would have used him even more.

I might have even started Duke & used Jones to spell him. But my point is Duke is not just a third down back.

I didn't like taking the knee before the half. I'd have taken a shot.

I think our biggest problem was execution. On one play I remember Roderick Johnson was an extra lineman outside of Tunsil. Fells was outside of Johnson.

Pressure still came fast from the left, despite two extra blockers. Johnson, Tunsil, & Scharping blocked no one. One guy ran around Fells & got to Watson. Another guy ran between Tunsil & Scharping.

4 guys to block two & both guys hit our QB.... smh

How many times does Bill Butthole have to fail (How many home playoff losses) before Steelbtexan admits Bill Buttchin is a horrible coach.

If it was anyone else he'd already be roasting their ass... and no.. WATSON IS NOT THE ******* PROBLEM, Wake up!

Bro Watson is Obriens downfall, just like Rick Smith. It's always someone else's fault but Obrien in that dudes eyes.

Thunder his play calling is very inconsistent. Some plays were head scratchers bro. Not letting Watson be Watson is another issue. The extremely slow lethargic start every week is another big time issue.

Now to his credit, when he do call a great game plan. His offense looks darn good.

I just rewatched the first series. Play calling looks good. The Bills pass rush is amped. They zone blitzed just about every time, showing as many as six rushers then dropping into coverage.

Very confusing which 4 were coming & Jerry Hughes was beating Tunsil around the edge.

It wasn't the play calling that stopped that drive.

BO'b may not be calling as many designed runs for Watson, but he's not stopping him from being Watson. Watson is hesitant. I saw him pull the ball down three times before deciding to run on at least three snaps.

Man this coach again tried his best to gift wrapped this win for the opposing team. Smh do some yall still need more proof on how bad this coach is.

Apparently this Quarterback that we have sucks and we can never win a SB with him..

Jesus.. well damn the bad luck. I'll guess Ill have to make do with this bad ass record breaking turd that we have now until a real answer like Josh Allen comes along again. Because we know the guy we have now isn't progressing at all, and he has no ability to win the big game.

Yeah, I didn't buy that bullshit either lol :)

McDermott and staff made plenty of mistakes that allowed the Texans back into the game. There were no Lombardis or Shulas on the sidelines at NRG.

There were no Lombardi's or Shula's on the sideline (there rarely ever is), but McDermott and staff would've won the game if the officiating staff would've correctly called a touchdown a touchdown and not a touchback.. js. And those type of dumbass mistakes by players are directly tied to piss poor coaching. Lol, imagine if the Refs got that call right, so glad they didn't.

McDermott called a good game, he had a 19-0 lead on O'Brien's ass in his own building.. but like always, the only thing that saved his ass was our rotten non progressing QB said "not today".. That's it.

But I digress, what we all should be doing is trying to figure out who the next QB should be, because there's no way we'll ever win with the non progressing QB that we have now.

So what touchdown was called a touchback instead?

That was a very confusing play. I've seen players not take a knee all year just like that and nothing happened. Carter clearly had no intention of bringing it out. How do we try to factor that into the outcome when it seemed like a bullsh!t gift wrapped TD by the referee?

Supposedly, Carter had made some kind of fair catch signal before catching the kickoff, and the back judge didn't see it. Can't tell for sure in any replay I've seen, though Carter waves his arms to the side before the catch. If his arms never rose above his helmet, it should have been an illegal fair catch, and the Texans penalized from the 25.

I hate O'Brien.

But the game changed when Watt sacked Allen forcing a field goal. Are you saying BO'b should have called that sack in the 1st half?

Offense gets back on the field & it's still hand off on first down, quick pass, run, run. Only difference is the line is moving & RBs have room to run.

Hyde is breaking tackles & Watson is dragging three defenders into the endzone.

This was just like most games this year. We lose 1st qtr. We lose 2nd qtr. We break even in the third & win the 4th.

This is the Bill O’Brien experience. It’s so slippery. One thing that is a constant, BoB’s players like playing for him. I’ve yet to see a crack in the foundation. I’ve always seen this “ my friend who’s inside the Texans organization tells me that the players are sick of OB’s message” as total BS.

Did OB call for Watson to drag defenders into the EZ?
Did he call for Watson to escape engulfing rushers to make plays?

Nah, BOB called the same plays the whole game (as you said).

But it requires some heroic effort to make them work in the second half.

Put your players in a better position to succeed.
They won't be excecute all the time because the opponent's defense gets paid, too.

Correct.

Same thing on the other side. Dabol called the same game 1st half & 2nd. Watt woke up the defense & that was that.

We all know O’Brien won’t get fired. But maybe he will listen to Deshaun. The Ravens let Jackson be Jackson. The Chiefs let Mahomes be Mahomes. Even the Bills let Allen be Allen.

Let Watson be Watson, Bill.

What on God’s green earth gives you the idea that OB isn’t letting Watson be Watson?

God, this place is silly sometimes.
