It’s as crazy as the guy who makes it seem there are an abundance of 3rd round cornerbacks that were starting their rookie year when there is a 94% chance they don’t.
why go using words like "abundant" to make your case? Did I ever insinuate that? Nope. Just proved that the statement "no 3rd round CBs start in the NFL" was false (both as veteran and rookie). And maybe JUST MAYBE - dont let me tell you how to work up your metric sheet, you should instead of grouping ALL the draft picks in a sample category, might be more useful to take the CBs drafted in the 3rd round and then work up your percentages off those . Might raise your eyebrows a bit, but again I really dont care that much. I got what I wanted out of the exercise - you guys can keep slacking each other up with false narratives Its fun to shoot them down its not as stochastic as you make it seem.
edit: you got my OCD acting up. EXAMPLE= take the 32 picks in any 3rd round, then isolate the CBs from that player pool, AND THEN do the math for the amount of starters among that data set and you should have a more accurate representation of the 3rd round ROOKIE starters in any given year. I did the 2017 draft and came up with a 60% rookie starting figure among the CBs that year. Obviously that number will be different every single year, and I may be giving myself some 'extra credit' by using a fairly high 'games played' season to make my case in 2017, but the point remains ... you are dilluting the player field by incorporating EVERY POSITIONAL PLAYER into the equation ... we are talking about ONLY 3rd round rookie CBs to start games in the NFL.
I'll tell you what, since I've captured your attention, I'll make this next claim after doing this legwork .. and you try to dispel it.
"THE MAJORITY OF ALL STARTING NFL CBs WERE EITHER DRAFTED IN THE 3rd ROUND OR LATER, OR NOT DRAFTED AT ALL"
Have fun.
