Excuse my ignorance but who are they? Not the video game characters, the players.

Colts don't have to play Baltimore or NE

They have a far easier schedule before we play again

While logically I know if we lose today the division isn't over...it will just feel that way especially with Colts being healthy again and our defense in particular going down 1 by 1

So yeah, basically... regardless what the Colts do, we need to win as many as we can.

I went into this season with a small amount of expectations. That way I'm not to upset when they lose.

I had high expectations going into the season - at least 12 wins and a top 2 seed in the conference.

Its still possible , just not real likely.

Losing to Carolina and Indy …. two teams I really think the Texans are superior to were disappointing.

Today's game looked a lot like those two …. Until Watson put his Underdog Cape on and saved Lois err Bill again.

I don't remember who posed the question in what thread..........."how many years in advance can you trade draft pics?" But I found this:

I read that article right after the question (I can't remember which thread either) and Florio is sharp and says he got from NFL office but I cannot find anything in the actual CBA dealing with this topic. I wished the NFL had told Florio "see section ___________."

Pregame show, Jay Glazer said teams have been calling Texans about acquiring Nuk. Idk that there’s enough return for his value to us. But teams know who is making trades for us.

3 first rounders??

not sure even that would do it

That’s what I was thinking. He’s under contract until 2023. Zero locker room issues. Sync’d with your young QB. It would have to be an absurd amount of picks and players for me to give up Nuk.

3 1sts for Hopkins is good

If the texans were rebuilding. They ain't
Does the loss of Watt for season and quite possibly retirement, change thoughts about perhaps not rebuilding but to go after picks/players to fill holes by trading our only tradeable asset that we can somewhat afford to trade? (whew!) I personally think Omenihu was the heir apparent to JJ and just may get there before I expected him to.

I am huge Hopkins fan and want to see his jersey in NRG rafters but is it time to consider the future? Now O'Brien has a passable reason to go hat in hand to Cal. "what could I be expected to do without JJ?" If Tunsil production is now in question and with other injuries on both sides of the ball, does he now listen to offers for Nuk?

Washington: LT Trent Williams (can replace Tunsil or move him to LG) but still leaves us hoping Howard returns healthy 2020. Plus first round in 2020 which appears to be top 5.

No deal as Washington still needs a LT that they can get with that pick. No second round and could still get decent WR in round three.

Raiders: Raiders have two round ones and both would be close to mid range but not enough for trade imo. Ferrel isn't what they hoped so far and I would have to get some players plus two firsts.

No deal as a great WR should be there with their first pick round one.

Miami: 1. 1-3; 1.10 and 1.22. 2.34 and 2.62. I could see Miami trading down1.3 to get their new QB and a good package which could bring them a LT in draft.

Deal: Dolphins get a much needed boost with Hopkins + get their QB and other picks to get a LT.
Houston gets 1.10+ 1.22 +2.34 + 2.62. They draft a potential Hopkins, a replacement for Clowney, a corner and a LT. They also have their own round 2.

Texans left offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil injured his shoulder and didn’t return.

After the game, Tunsil indicated he didn’t think the injury was bad and he hopes to play next Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tunsil got hurt in the second half and was replaced by right tackle Chris Clark sliding over to the left side.

The Texans inserted Dan Skipper at right tackle in place of Clark.

I hope he is back next week because Chris Clark at LT is Halloween scary ! Actually Clark at RT is bad enough but protecting Watsons blind side ? Yikes !

I don't know that there is a limit... the league may decline to approve if too lopsided, but multiple deals could be made?

I did find this

TRADES

TRADES
Once teams are assigned their draft positions, each pick is an asset: It’s up to the club’s executives to either select a player or trade the pick to another team to improve its position in the current or future drafts. Teams may negotiate trades at any time before and during the draft and can swap draft picks or current NFL players to whom they hold the rights.

When teams agree to a trade during the draft, both clubs call the head table, where Fiore and staff monitor the league’s phones. Each team must relay the same trade information to the league to have a trade approved.

Once a trade is approved, a Player Personnel representative gives the details to the league’s broadcast partners and to all 32 clubs. A league official announces the trade in the draft venue for media and fans.

Yes and why I think more than four...

Perhaps mr. Bill but I'm hearing that Washington has only received a second-round offer for Trent Williams. He is now on the trading block. If later Browns or someone gets him for a second round pick I think I'll scream.

Where would you play him in our current and healthy lineups?

Is this true?
Haven't heard of offer only that he is available. The 6-foot 190 pounds with 4.38 speed and two interceptions. Allowed 12 catches on 19 targets this season. He just turned 28 years of age. I do not have average yards per catch but PFF 2019 a 60 overall.

I don't believe Bell is going anywhere, especially not Houston. We don't have any draft picks left and our RB's are doing more than just fine right now thank you very much

They would be stupid to let Reader go as he is one of the last decent pocket pushers we have right now and with JJ starting to age, that Dline will need all the help it can get.
He ain't going anywhere.

What does it cost us to cut bait on Watt? Does doing that help us retain people that actually play for more than 6 games a year.

Knowing JJ, he will recognize the situation and bow out of the game.
I wouldn't blame him and lord knows he won't be stiffed for cash - can you imagine the endorsements, etc,.
I know the FO would be extremely reluctant to trade or cut him and I don't blame them.

Reader could easily be offered stupid $ that we should not throw at him. Tight end Fells could be another honey badger and go to another team. His age does not act as an advantage for him in Houston. I could see Reader bringing us a 3rd round comp and Tells at least a fifth possibly a fourth. I am hoping Fuller is out standing next half of season allowing us to get something for him in a trade.

Over the cap says no dead money, tough decision

IIRC,Watts 2019 is now GTD unless he retires or accepts a injury buyout. $15.5 m savings next year if gone. There's your money for tonsil.

I am sure I will get ripped but I hope we consider offering him for trade if he returns healthy and does not decide to retire.

The problem is JJ should return healthy for 2020 and with his competitiveness I don't see him bowing out. Nor do I see McNear allowing him to be traded although that's what I would do

He’s already said he’s not playing 10-11 years. He’s also said he’s leaving before he’s an old injured guy. This is his 9th season. He’s injured again. Doubtful he’s still playing for a new contract now. If anything he plays healthy next year, we win our second championship, and he retires.

Top NT's get 10 mil

Other NT's get 6-8 mil and I would consider Reader to be in the 7-9 mil range.

Do you know if he was with any other team after he left Houston? I had high hopes for this guy.
No he wasn't.
[I answered your question in this thread, as we're trying to keep the "Transaction" thread solely to transactions..............commentary or questions on those players to be presented in the more appropriate thread.]
