I suspect he would be in over his head at HC assistant.
I wouldnt even trust him as Dollar General manager.
This is where I'm different than many.
I had done a lot of researches on BB, and I recognized the good things he did in Cleveland.
He inherited an aging roster that needed to be replenished continually.
His starting QB missed 17 games in 3 years.
You know back then the QB can get hit pretty hard.
The last year he was there, the Browns faced 7 teams that went to the playoffs.
Besides, the players knew that the franchise was going to relocate.
And the Browns fans can be very harsh.
There was a lot of distractions.
I see a 2-5 start all over this teamSo what’s the record have to be to ditch this tool?
3 and 3?
2 and 4?
1 and 5?

0-3 and he's out of here
Yeeeesh. Step out to pick up lunch, turn on 790 and Uncle Greg and ND Kalu are just GIVING IT to OBrien. Uncle Greg called OBrien a "TOOL" for an answer about "culture" in the locker room, and how OBrien just danced around the question and said something like "we're getting there" ... SIX YEARS INTO THE DAMN THING!! LOL
They went on to offer some player perspectives about playing for a coach like that and how its just a matter of time before the players in that locker room grow tired of the act.
A caller made a great point speaking of managerial operations and how the Cleveland deal set a bad precedent because giving away a 3rd rounder for a RB that was more than likely going to get cut only opened the door for other GMs to try and fleece this team due to the morons they have calling the shots right now. Thats why Miami is now insisting on a kings ransom because they know they can con OBrien out of it.
SMH.
The advantage for O'Brian in playing in a weak division.

Truth be told, I think it takes a Kings ransom for a young talented LT. Unfortunately for us, they are becoming increasingly rare.

They could have traded a third for Dillard.
They could have traded a third for Dillard.
The problem is Tunsil, though promising, is not that guy. No team would give Miami a 1st round pick for him in the offseason. They'd rather draft their own rather than trade for a guy in the last year of his contract. & nobody but nobody is saying he's met the expectations of the 13th overall pick.
Doesn't mean I dont want him. But... this is the career path Howard is on. Guard for 2019. LT 2020. Good (not great LT) in 2021. Hopefully worth the 5th year option in 2022.
Roderick College tape stacked up well against Dillard problem is didn’t play in pro style system like Dillard and he came out early before he was polished.
Dillard is a polished prospect and natural LT but he lacks core strength and conditioning to be ready to start LT day one even if Texans had traded up to draft him. Whereas Texas caught a major break w/Johnson, didn’t even know what they had until well into training camp.

Don't let it get to you. Mostly everything on here are opinions but I understand the insults are not cool unless they are directed to BOOB lol.
Again, this has never been reported.
It's very possible the Eagles contacted the Ravens with a take it os leave it offer late in the clock & they never shopped a "better" deal.
And Brian Gain could have moved up much farther than the Ravens and got Dillard with a second rounder. That looks cheap now doesn't it ?Again, this has never been reported.

The Texans should never have been in this position. Not-My-Job O’Brien is basically running the organization. Steel gets a lot of heat from people on this board for criticizing ownership but this mess is completely on Cal. And where the hell is that ethics chaplain they “fleeced” from NE? Where is he hiding? He was supposedly going to help out with this kind of stuff.Tweet from @StephStradley: General observations from O’Brien presser:
1. Longer than usual.
2. Just because Clowney hasn’t signed his tender, doesn’t mean the Texans can’t talk to him. OB kept on saying talking is tied to signing the tender. That’s an artificial negotiation construct aka playing chicken.
Tweet from @StephStradley: @dickfundy He is aware of this. It’s particularly uncomfortable AP because there’s no good cop (coach), bad cop (tough decision making GM). Hard for things not to become personal. In a city like Houston where we see first hand what great GMs can do, this is really hard to see.
Dillard played in a pro style system? Lol!

I know we talked about that over in the Draft section and calculated that on the Daft value points the Texans could have moved up into the mid-teens
with their second.
I just wonder how thoroughly Gain & O'Brien prepared for the Draft ?
I voted for 4 or less. OB the gm turned out worse than OB the HC.
Who is worse:
OB the GM?
OB the HC?
OB the OC?

You forgot OB the QB Whisperer.

Tweet from @BigSargeSportz: Just finished talking to a former player that’s with another team now and his words were..
“I am not surprised(by the Clowney trade). Bill is one of the reasons I didn’t resign there and I had a very good offer.”
