Which off-season moves would you like the Texans to make? (Roster/FA)

So it's CK fault the goofy media want to twist the true message? Team would've won more games, the owner wouldn't have seen so racist ,plus he was the perfect backup to Watson. Yet, We're still talking about a distraction?

what other position has had played besides QB? As I recall, Jackson has balked at the suggestion that anything but a QB...oh and he might go as high as current QB, so what exactly are trading to be him?

He is perfectly entitled to sell himself as a QB and good as any in the long scheme of things. You want that belief and conviction but Houston with Watson is truly in unique situation where he does not shoulder the pressure as franchise QB, even though I fully expect him to develop into one. Follow me. You have him four years on the cheap, develop and increasing in trade value or god forbid something happens to Watson you have plus insurance.

Now specifically his athletic talent transcends multiple positions WR, RB and returner. With offensive weapons intact, healthy Watson, Fuller, Hopkins Texans lack a home run threat out of the backfield, not to mention he can throw as play or defense dictates. The possibilities are endless. It would be a luxury pick, so doubt Gaine is in a position yet to pull off but just for future reference, chemistry between Watson and Jackson might be a game changer nobody would see coming!

So the Texans trade up into the first round (at least 2019 1st), so that Lamar Jackson, can have a bad attitude (even if he is mostly a good, professional guy) about being drafted to be Kordell Stewart for 4 years?

Yep, but hopefully Jackson would be a team player and be willing to accept a Slash role.

I'm a bit late posting this, but it's still fun to read. Walter Football gave the Texans an A+ for acquiring Tyrann Mathieu:

I am absolutely shocked right now. Stunned. And no, it has nothing to do with UMBC upsetting Virginia. I'm talking about this contract.

I don't understand how the Texans managed to steal Tyrann Mathieu for just one year and $7 million. He should have been offered multi-year contracts from various teams that included eight-figure annual salaries. Yet, Houston obtained him with just a 1-year "prove it" deal that is worth just as much as what the Jaguars are going to pay Donte Moncrief in 2018!

Mathieu is an extremely versatile, Pro Bowl-caliber defensive back. He can play anywhere in the secondary, and he's a turnover machine who will feast on defenses because of the great pressure that J.J. Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus will provide. Mathieu, as well as newly signed cornerback Aaron Colvin, will solidify Houston's defense, and with Deshaun Watson coming back with some experience, the Texans can be declared to be one of the favorites to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

This grade is a no-brainer A+, and if I had anything higher than an A+, I would give it that grade.

Fleming is more than just a backup tackle. He has started 27 games with the New England Patriots since being drafted in the fourth round in 2014.
He started the final five games of the 2017 and started in Super Bowl XLII.

OK I'm gonna be disappointed and puzzled if Gain doesn't have this Fleming guy in for a visit ? BTW he's a Houston native so if he still has family in the area, should give the Texans an edge over the Dallas formerly known as "Americas team"Cowboys and other interested teams.

Fleming makes too much sense not to bring in. Only reason I can think not to do so is Texans feel really good about Davenport and the prospects they project will be available in the draft.

I’d feel much better grabbing Fleming and adding another in the draft. Let the competition sort the depth chart out. I don’t care if we just drafted a guy in the 4th round last year or if we just signed them in FA. If they aren’t one of the best players to protect our franchise QB then they shouldn’t be on the team.

Biggest need as it stands right now is still OT. Lets go grab the best candidate left on the market and add another in the draft to make sure this problem is fixed!

Fleming is more of a RT, so if you sign him you have three RT's and zero LT's. LT is still the open festering wound on this team and there is no sure fire way to fix it this year. I'm hoping they can find a decent band-aid and then use their #1 next year on a good LT.

Fleming has played LT in the past and Pats are looking to re-sign him to compete to take over Solder’s spot. He’s the best left and if he does not end up being the best option (Henderson or Davenport or rookie) then we will have upgraded both tackle positions and added much needed quality depth.

Here are a few players I would like to see us reach out too after going the the list of players still available:

OL: Cameron Fleming, Austin Howard, Greg Robinson, LaAdrian Waddle
DL: Johnathan Hankins, Bennie Logan
LB: Pernell McPhee, Tamba Hali
DB: E.J. Gaines, Tre Boston, Ron Parker, Marcus Williams, Tramon Williams, Bashaud Breeland
TE: Eric Ebron, Brent Celek, Luke Wilson
WR: Michael Campanaro

Considering the situation we’re in, I’d be on board with bringing back Chris Clark on a 1 year deal. I think he’s better at LT than on the right. TBH, I’d rather have him start than Davenport, whom I think is still a year away.

In addition, make LT the #1 priority in the draft. Trade up if necessary.

Basically, I think Clark is a decent, low-cost insurance policy if all else fails.

I would like to see Suh, Fleming and Campanaro.

Don't understand the hate on Suh. Guy is one of the hardest workers in the league and is a saint off the field. I really don't care if he takes a cheap shot here or there, a little nasty isn't always a bad thing. He had been upset in Miami previously about the talent and effort of those playing around him, that won't be an issue in Houston. Hoping certain members of the D are persuading him to come to Houston- passing downs, 4 man rush with Watt, Suh, Clowney and Mercilus putting 7 in coverage would be ridiculous.

Fleming is who I have been hoping for at OT the whole time. We have more $ and a larger need at tackle, no reason the Cowboys should be looking at him and not the Texans.

IMO, Campanaro will blow up (600+ yards) when he gets with a QB that doesn't always want to throw vertical.

I would like them to sign a starting offensive tackle.

I thought this was obvious, but they haven't done it.

Seantrel Henderson doesn’t give you the warm and fuzzies?

I’d like them to make a run at Cam Fleming. Henderson is a risk/reward pick. If he’s healthy and doesn’t get suspended he’s a quality starting OT.

Eric Decker intrigues me. Huge body in the slot, great in the red zone sure hands. If we aren't going to have a TE again this year Decker could fill that role from the slot.

Not sure if Eric Decker cares that much about football anymore, and his ability is only going down hill as he ages, IMO.

So Marcedes Lewis is now out there. 34 year old veteran TE with a chip on his shoulder from being released by a division rival. Do you offer him a contract to see if he wants to come in here and get a little revenge? 1 year with an option? He has lost speed but still has those blocking skills and in the red zone the guy was money in the bank when targeted.

I say you invite him over to look around and kick the tires a bit. Might just have something to offer in the short term.

Would be a good Y TE. Only concern is age obviously and TEs are getting paid quite a bit this offseason. Would still want to acquire another TE in the draft.

But if he comes on a 1 year 3 million or so deal hard to say no!

Good news on Marcedes Lewis: He’s upset with the timing of his release by the Jags and felt disrespected since they picked up a team option last month then chose to release him a week after free agency had started.

Bad news: He wants to play in California so he can be closer to family. Former HC is now defensive coordinator for the Chargers and former college position coach is now coaching TEs for SF. Unlikely we get him.

I'd rather the Texans draft Dalton Shultz instead of picking up Mercedes Lewis. Shultz should be an immediate upgrade on the o-line. He's not a great receiver but he is a great blocker.

You like? You like.

I’d like them both! Lets help set up the Ol for success in protecting Watson by adding two very good blocking TEs that can also make catches when needed.

Per Rotoworld looks like Texans are interested in Hurns. Would add good competition to the WR corps. Especially like the part about taking less money to play with a certain QB...

Allen Hurns - WR - Free Agent
In a radio interview with WFNZ Charlotte, free agent Allen Hurns said he's drawn interest from up to 10 teams.

Hurns said he's already been in touch with the Bears, Bills, Panthers Saints, Raiders, Texans and Jets, who he plans to visit on Wednesday. "Once we get the offers, we finalize things as far as the quarterback situation, the offense, things like that as far as the opportunities I'm going to have," said Hurns. "With certain teams, you might possibly take less to play with this quarterback or in this offense." The 26-year-old was cut by Jacksonville after losing his spot to Donte Moncrief.

He doesn't have the speed to be a great receiver and to split the seam, but he has the good hands to be a reliable receiver over the middle and in the short game. Watson would find him a reliable target with quick passes.

Even if he does not choose the Texans, I like the manner this Hurns guy is thinking through the process.

He isn't going to NY tomorrow because of the snow, so he is visiting Dallas instead. I'd like to bring him in. I think he's got some real talent to work with and would add depth and competition. He'll have a number of suitors so probably a bit of a long shot, but I'm all for it if it's possible.

We're his best chance to get revenge multiple times a year on the team that cut him.

Sell it Brian.

With the Texans meager depth at WR & TE, and Fuller's inability to play a full schedule, Hurns would get plenty of Targets in this offense. If not Hurns, the Texans need to pickup another vet WR.

To be fair Hurns has had his own issues staying healthy. But like Fuller when he’s on the field he’s a quality player. Would be nice to add someone besides Hopkins who has had a 1000 yard season to the WR room.

If the Texans were to get Suh, I’d be all in again.
Ndamukong Suh has already taken trips in free agency to New Orleans, Tennessee and Los Angeles, with Oakland up next (he's about to meet with the Raiders right now). I hope he will visit Houston soon.

Per Brian Billick on the NFL Network: "The Rams get the edge as the best fit, because I selfishly want to see Suh line up next to Aaron Donald every week and destroy pro offenses as we know it."

As long as Suh doesn't sign with the Titans I'm good.
