Mute point now. This team has no chance without Watson. Offense is going to be as bad as the defense. They will be lucky to compete with the hapless Colts this week.
Agreed we are toast now.

Specifics v. generality is the difference. Mr. Tex is treating this like some generic football discussion. But it's not. It’s the Texans with Miller, this OL, Watson. Calls that might make sense for most teams are stupid for the Texans.
Why arent people mad at Cushing? I see his actions worse and more selfish by constantly taking peds.. but everyone hates Duane Brown.
Now that Watson is injured, pretty obvious the Brown trade was a good deal for Texans. Need to stockpile picks and build for the future. Texans are a "next year" team after losing Watson, JJ and Mercilus.
Wondering how good he can be looking with the Seahawks not being able to put up any offensive points, and it's already half-time.DB looking good vs WAS

That has nothing to do with my question.Really? The Browns have had one of the best for a decade and commonly suck.

No, just that it would be very difficult to assess his performance under the circumstances of no points on the board.Certainly seemed the implication of your question was if he was playing well they'd have points.
Did we get lucky here? DB left game in first half with ankle:
http://texanswire.usatoday.com/2017...-start-for-seattle-with-nasty-looking-injury/
Brown has been beaten repeatedly during this game. He has been fortunate that Wilson has been able to elude his man. Watching how Duane Brown sustained his ankle injury, the concurrent twisting at the leg mechanism would be consistent with a high ankle sprain rather than a plain eversion ankle sprain. This also in worse case scenario can include a fracture.
T DUANE BROWN, 76.4 OVERALL GRADE
The deadline trade for Duane Brown looked to be paying off for a second game until he went down with a leg injury. Prior to his injury, he was able to get some good movement in the run game at left tackle and only gave up one pressure on 20 snaps. If Brown is able to come back healthy it would help solidify an offensive line that struggled earlier in the season.
'Cuz he'd have had the same injury here.
I posted much the same during the game.See, I just don’t trust PFF. I got to that game later than kickoff and saw Brown get beat three times in a span of like 6 plays or so. One was after the injury and he clearly couldn’t put his full weight on his right side without pain. The two prior to the injury were both to Chandler Jones. In one, Wilson was able to deliver the ball before Jones got to him, but Brown got beat almost immediately off the snap, he just couldn’t slide fast enough. The other, was on a rollout type play to the right and Brown got beat immediately, it just didn’t matter because Wilson was on a roll out to the opposite side of the field.
Pete Carroll said Duane Brown sprained his ankle but that the team is unaware of the severity. Brown left late in the second quarter and didn't return. Said Carroll: "He's already talking like he'll be OK, but there's no way to know."
yeah I am waiting to see what he can get for Cushing and Savage.Did Rick Smith pull another fast one? First the browns and now Seattle?

yep joking aside we've saved some money on Cushing's suspension and 2018 cut would add $8.5 million. Cannot see us getting any comp pick for TS although someone will probably sign him.Cap room and roster space.
I wonder if Cushing will ever play again wearing a Texans jersey ?yep joking aside we've saved some money on Cushing's suspension and 2018 cut would add $8.5 million. Cannot see us getting any comp pick for TS although someone will probably sign him.
I am going to say no. His age + injuries plus being suspended twice and with his stats leaves only his on field leadership to earn his almost ten million cap next year.I wonder if Cushing will ever play again wearing a Texans jersey ?
We’ll probably retire his jersey sometime in 2019, along with Arian Foster.I am going to say no. His age + injuries plus being suspended twice and with his stats leaves only his on field leadership to earn his almost ten million cap next year.

I'd suspect we'd retire Duane Browns jersey before Cushings. We’ll probably retire his jersey sometime in 2019, along with Arian Foster.

Also, "I hope not". Duane was a very, very good player for us but he wasn't some kind of epic Pro Bowl/All-Pro machine. Just a solid LT for 10 years. If we are building a "Ring of He Was Pretty Good" then sure.
but how much was that fueled by steroids? He doesn't belong in any ring of honor. Cheating isn't honorable so even if his career was HOF like, IMHO he wouldn't deserve that honor

Based on last night, it looks like Duane Brown joined the #Seahawks offensive line and immediately became a #Seahawks offensive lineman.

He had a sore ankle but still looked pretty bad from what I heardI was working last night and didn't see the game. Did DB play that bad? Did he give up any sacks?
That's an assumption..we just don't knowLet's not pretend a large percent of the league doesn't do it. He just happens to be one of the smart ones that got caught twice
