**Official Game-Day Thread** Jags at Texans, Sunday Sep 10, 2017!!

It ought to be interesting to see the Texans and Bengals take turns playing who can sack who's Qb the most.
We play the Bengals on Thursday Night and the Patriots after that (both road games). We're staring 0-3 in the fact. And what are the low percentage of teams that start off 0-3 that sill make the NFL Playoffs?

The worst part about having a potentially bad year in 2017 is the Cleveland Browns have our first and second-round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. They will benefit from our bad season and not us!

So people say it's going to be a long year. We'll it could be more like two or three long years. We may not be good again until a new head coach and possibly general manager are brought in. And I hate to say it, but new ownership as well. Bob McNair is clueless running an NFL franchise. I've given him 15 years to show me something good. Meanwhile, the Astros owner and new Rockets owner, are primed to show us something good in a fraction of the time.

If we can't stop the Jags and Bortles the whole team is a joke.

Do you think McNairs wake up ??????? Are or they in a permanent stupor?????

This is OB's last year IMO. This team is just too screwed to get that 9-7 record that always saves him and they'll probably get Watson hurt at some point. That Savage proved definitively to be **** doesn't make Watson ready. It just makes Watson a better option and I agree that it's time to start working on the future but the same issues that exacerbated Savage's bad play will hamper Watson.

The OL is still garbage. It's the kind of garbage that makes fans wonder if their teams have any scouts at all. I don't know that there's a guy on that line that actually belongs in the NFL right now. You maybe make an allowance for Martin being that he is essentially a rookie but the rest of them? Not one of them should be starting. If these are our best 5 linemen (excluding Brown obviously who isn't exactly what I'd call a team player at the moment) then we don't have any starters at all. The guys who sit behind these bums should be working at warehouses and as P.E. coaches in small towns around the country.

There's no place to go get an "off the rack" OL one week into the season. There's nobody on the street right now that fixes this. Duane Brown doesn't fix this. This is years of rot on the roster with better players leaving and lesser players being brought in to replace them. I think we're at a point where the inept college coach has just about run off enough guys from Kubiak's teams to start paying for his own mistakes.

If I'm McNair I fire O'Brien before the end of the day. I promote Crennel to interim HC if he wants it and I prepare for a long season of bad football and uncomfortable interviews. I keep Rick until the end of the season but I let him go too. McNair won't do any of that.

This has to be the worst performance Texans have had under BOB. Just a total embarrassment.

The Pats spanking might be worse, but this was the Jags, and an Oline was hot garbage, all leverage to DB

Anybody else tired of seeing Woolfolk commercials. He came here as a has been. Another smoke ring brought in by Smith. Go back to New England. Sorry in a bad mood. How many more years of Smith do we have to put up with.

The fact that Cleveland will have a top 5 pick in the first and second round next year is reason enough to fire Rick Smith.....

I still can't believe that we traded a second round pick for $16M in cap space that we did not even use. Combine that with this OL plan and the projection by almost everybody that the team was going to be mediocre, and that is extreme mismanagement.

How anyone defends Rick Smith at this point is beyond me. He's proven that he has no idea how to build a football team and he's made so many stupid decisions.

Thank you jags. We're onto cincy.

In years past, I would've taken Today's ass kicking hard and would've been in a foul mood for at least 2 days afterwards.

But with all the **** that has happened with me over the last 7-8 months, I just can't care as much. I'm just happy football is back & to be living comfortable.

It's still just one game, let's see what happens Thursday, before jumping out the window

Maybe Vrabel is just that shitty of a D-coordinator, but Watt and Clowney were ghosts.

Billy O doing the same **** at QB that he did with Hoyer and Mallet. Yeah, Savage is trash, but that game was over at halftime, might as well let him get squashed and bring in Watson next week

Watson picked off. O'Brien put rookie QB in very tough spot today. Should have known better. But this has become his trademark with Texans.

I agree with that. This was not the game to put Watson in. Jacksonville's defense knocked out all 3 TE's. Somehow Watson escaped that same fate. Had Watson gotten seriously injured O'Brien would have already been fired.

Why keep Smith? So he can choose the next head coach just like he picked BOB. Get rid of Smith now. What the hell does he do during the season anyway?

When the schedules came out this was the one game, at home, that many people had us winning during our first month of the season. We've got a very tough schedule coming up. We play the defending Super Bowl champions on the road in a couple games.

I keep him until the end of the season because he's been able to find street free agents that can fill the holes created by injuries during the year but I never said anything about letting him stay beyond that and he'd have no part in the selection of the next HC. I'm pretty sure Rick is franchise cancer (Hell, I think McNair is too) and I kick him to the curb as soon as the last game of the year is in the books.

BOB imo should be spending his time and resources on that OL. But here is the offense out after this game Ellington, Strong, Fido, Griffin, Allen, Brown, Davenport, Fuller, Blue, etc

McNair knows how to run a franchise to perfection when making $$$$ is his main objective.

Bill O'Brien: "The decision to go with Deshaun had more to do with 'Can we find a spark'"

O'Brien: "We've got to do a better job coaching. We have to figure it out. It was a long day. Long way to go."

O'Brien: "It was a terrible day on offense, but it wasn't that much better defensively. We have a lot of work to do."

O'Brien: "I wish we would have played faster. That's on me. It just wasn't as up tempo as we wanted to be. Give Jacksonville credit."

O'Brien: "We've got to find a way. We've got no choice. We have to stick together. We have to find a way to get better quick."

O'Brien not naming QB for Week 2. Says he will look at film. Short week for #Texans who face Cincinnati on Thursday.

Fire him now and start the search for a new GM.

I say get rid of him ASAP before he continues his svengali ways on the McNairs. I may have to agree with you on both diseases.

This QB bullshit will be his legacy get the bum out of here already his voice alone makes me nauseous.

I think a lot of those were compliments of Brian Gaine. But he's gone, now.

I'd go ahead and fire Smith and O'Brien, start from scratch. I don't think O'Brien is the right coach for Watson. I was hoping Savage was finally ready to take over but he can't hack it. He has yet to throw a TD in the NFL.

Eventually the offense is going to require a complete overhaul. I want Smith and O'Brien to have no say in it.
