this might be in the wrong section but I didn't know where to post it.


I used to follow 610 over here, but for some reason that site doesn't work anymore for me (nor the android app)

and tunein just refuses to work since "the channel is not available in your region"

is there any way I could listen to this radio?

I have vlc, so if any of you know a direct link to a stream that might come in handy


I am also open to suggestion about other radio stations that cover the texans
 
610 is a cbs affiliate and access seems to be limited. I have an app named radio.com that, I think, is affiliated with cbs. But since I found this app I haven't had any problems with the 610 broadcast.

I have that app but it stopped working when the site stopped as well.
I can't remember if I tried with an US proxy. Maybe that's the issue

A few years ago I was using a free, generic radio tuner to listen to 610 and then it suddenly stopped, with the message that CBS had denied them (the owners of the app) the right to include the broadcast of their station. The app had to block 610. For a good while I kept looking for a tuner, unsuccessfully, until I found radio.com.

I think they must have blocked it for people living outside the US.

The radio.com app is ASS!

It constantly disconnects, and no matter what I do I cant get it to work on a constant basis. It crashes, freezes, you name it it does it. It makes me want to :inneganned: the damn thing sometimes, lol. It's not my phone, I have the galaxy S7 Edge.

And yes Josh Innes is the definition of human trash! I fkin hate the dude. When he was on 610, I refused to listen to the whole station, now that he is on 790 I do the same. Pretty much, he's a b!tch.

Josh innes IS a douche. However, 610 has so many commercials i find myself flipping back and forth for substance. Almost never get any worthwhile sports talk from innes but he's good for 2 minutes of pure comedy per hour.

I cant stand john lopez and never understood how 610 could beat his morning show on 790 because of him - and then put him on their morning show.

Zeirlin is the tops for me when he actually focuses on football.

Mad Radio is my favorite Houston sports radio show right now. The show right after them sucks, though. And it sucks I'm "forced" to listen to them on my way to work. Like mentioned earlier, John Lopez is horrible. All he does is agree with whoever his co-host is. At least they got rid of Dante Hall, whom was worthless as a radio host.

Yeah, unfortunately IMO there's three decent shows on Houston Sports Talk radio (Mad Radio, Proper Gentlemen of Sports, and the Blitz), and two of them are on at the same time. I hated it when KILT moved Mad Radio to morning drive-time.

Since Innes’ debut Oct. 10, KBME has lost almost two-thirds of Pallilo’s audience from late September among men 25-54.

I have not seen Palilo resurface anywhere, which is a shame because the dude was an encyclopedia of sports. He was a bit dry, so he probably needed a partner to keep the show moving along.

Yeah, it took me a long time to warm up to Palilo because of that know-it-all vibe he had. But with the Houston sports radio scene being as bad as it was/is, compared to the rest, he did know it all, so I got OK with it.

Lance Z's show is the only one I listen to now. It's just that I've been listening to him for 15 years or more so it's just the familiarity, I guess. It helps that he's good, he's funny, and he makes it work with just about anybody, even if I don't care for them, Granado, Wexler, Clanton, whoever he's been paired up with. Matt Thomas is probably the best partner he's had, or at least the one I can tolerate the most.

The problem with that 790 morning show though is that you miss half of it if you're outside the Beltway with their weak ass signal to start the 1st hour and a half.

And then the rest of the 790 lineup is horrible. ND Kalu is a fence straddling apologist who tries way to hard to not offend anyone and just ends up talking in circles. Clanton has always been a whiney little biatch, and still is, and Sean Jones is just bad radio.

So I basically get a little Lance in the mornings and that's pretty much it.
 
I stopped listening to Innes when he first came to 610 long time ago...........when he started talking about his GF who he loved screwing........and denigrating her on air as a good lay and nothing more. The lowest class of human being........but the station let it go on week to week..........a reflection of their level of classlessness in their search to increase listenership with equally classless listeners.
 
I would not mind pallilo on 610 teamed up with a host with some personality.

I'm a Josh Innes fan, but he can't carry a show by himself. He needs someone to balance his jackassery with some non jackassery.

Trouble is finding someone that can deal with him. Rich lord almost killed the guy.

everyone is entitled to have their own opinion.
mine is that Innes is to sports radio as trolls are to the internet.

Don't care for Lord or Innes,

To much talk about their personal lives, not enough talk about sports. Lord doesn't even care about Houston sports teams and never watches MNF live. He's turning into another pancakes.

Palilo was my all time favorite host. Intelligent and articulate and entertaining. I liked how the phone calls were short and then he would expound on the subject.

I disagree he needed a partner. For a few ill-fated months they brought in Lance Zirline to team up with him. That was the most awkward awful pairing in history. Charlie talking sports and Zirline doing impressions. God that was bad.

Do a little research and find a free VPN service. A VPN will allow you to appear as if you are in the US, and you will be able to stream without regional restrictions

I usually listen from work so I try to avoid using vpn because it could be mistaken as an attempt to access to blocked sites
Even tho my network is pretty permissive and have very few blocked sites
 
Innes's show is more about him talking about himself than it is anything else. He will mix in a sports topic du jour but go immediately back to talking about his show or himself (girlfriend/Dad). It's boring.

Edit and while Jim Mudd sounds like a nice guy his personality is about as interesting tax law.
 
Unfortunately, 610 officials when criticized for all the ridiculous non sports-related material presented on air, have actually stated their station is not "sports radio"...............they have said that's why it is called "sports TALK radio."........a flimsy condescending response that just convinces me that these broadcasters are too lazy to PREPARE subjects and let it flow on to a limited extent of callers......and just choose to limit their input, which may be fortunate since so many of their takes strongly reflect their ignorance of the subject.

Not being all sports talk all the time doesn't in and of itself make a show crap. The Blitz has been mentioned before in this thread, and they veer away from sports regularly (although it's always more sports than non-sports), and to be honest, with the exception of Pallilo when he was still on 790, pretty much all the shows I enjoy have a element of non-sports mixed in. Not being all sports doesn't make the show crap. Being a crap show makes the show crap - regardless of the sports/non-sports mix.

Most "sports talk" radio these days are actually what's call by many "guy talk," which is some variety of what you hear at a run-of-the-mill bar or even (a sports team message board where about half of the posts are in something called the no-spin zone).
 
I think josh is the one but usually they don't like to talk sports on fri and sat LOL but how much can u really talk about the Texans without thinking ok none of this matters till like week 1

I used to really enjoy the draft shows with lz and johnny harris. Nothing nearly that good on now that ive found (i dont listen to anything much between 9a and 3p.) I like the texans show with vandermeer/harris to but i believe thats done till preseason.

Just slim pickings and a barage of commercials. Im changing stations once every 5 minutes minimum.
