A Win Against Cincinnati Would...
• Give Houston a 7-1 record at home this season, which would set a franchise record
• Improve the Texans’ all-time regular season record against the Bengals to 5-4 overall and 2-2 at home
• Give Houston its second straight win against Cincinnati and its fifth in the last six head-to-head games
• Improve Houston’s record against the AFC North to 14-16 all-time
• Improve Head Coach Bill O’Brien’s career regular season record to 27-20 and 17-7 at home

The defense allowing only 306.5 total net yards and 17.2 first downs per game, Houston’s defense is ranked No. 1 in the NFL in both categories. The Texans are giving up 203.5 net passing yards per contest, which is the second lowest mark in the league.

ILB Benardrick McKinney leads the Texans and ranks eighth in the NFL with a single-season career-high 121 tackles. McKinney has recorded a career-high 5.0 sacks this year, making him the only player in the NFL in 2016 with 100 tackles and 5 sacks.

QB Tom Savage gets his first start after engineering a come from behind win last week. We get to see the 1st game plan designed for Tom Savage. Hopefully there is no more, run up the middle, run up the middle, throw short of sticks, punt.

Go Texans, Go Jags, Go Raiders!

Merry Christmas!

As Adam Schefter reported AJ Green will not play tonight. A team source told me Green was pulled from a team meeting and told he wouldn't be allowed to play. I'm told the decision was made by ownership and that Green was not happy. Sources tell me Green never returned to the meeting and that he may be flying home on his own today.

Since this was a re-sprain of an ankle that was never rested and rehabbed in the first place, I wouldn't take it as a given that he will be anymore able to perform adequately next week.

When the Jaguars beat the Titans right now and the Texans beat the Bengals tonight with a heavier dose of Blue and Grimes at running back, we can rest Lamar Miller for a couple extra weeks before our home wild-card game. He wouldn't even have to play at Tennessee the final game. We need him ready to go for the playoffs. That's right, I said PLAYOFFS!

Mariota being put in an air cast and carted off the field. They are losing 25-10.....we are primed to win the division tonight!

Seems like any time something like that happens, something crazy on the Texans side happens that screws everything up. Hell, that's Houston sports in general.

The Jaguars are spanking the overrated Titans now.
38-17 lead with 4:43 left in the game....
Marcus Mariota was knocked out of the game too.

If the Texans beat the Bengals tonight...
We become 2016 AFC South Champions!!!!!!
It's all on the line tonight. Whoohooo!!!!

This is why it's so important to win divisional games. Not only do they give you a full game over the opponent each time you beat them, but in this case -- with the Tacks getting blown out by Jax (Go Jags! Did I just say that??) -- a win tonight clinches the division because of the Texans' 5-0 record over the rest of the AFC South so far.

Gotta win those divisional games!

That said -- on any given day... even the Browns finally won today!

As far as Mariota, you don't put a leg in an AirCast for a simple ankle sprain........you do for a fracture. He won't be playing anything but Madden next week........or many more weeks.

Welcome back TejasTom... playing with some Texans mojo taking over the last two CnD's "unofficial game" threads that resulted in wins.

Most likely won't have the roof open this evening, even though it's awesome weather in Houston. Ah well....

Go Texans and smack the Bengals!

NRG has a retractable roof? Holy sh!t I never knew that....
;)

Welcome back TejasTom...
Thanks I had an unexpected family function two weeks ago and had to be somewhere at 8:00 am Sunday. I PMed JamTex pretty late but he didn't see it in time. Last week I had a 5K in Galveston early Sunday.

We better win this game because next week instead of facing Mariota, a QB with a 2016 62% completion and a 96 QBr, we will be facing Cassel, a QB with a 2016 100% completion rate and a 108 QBr! (..........after playing in 2 games and completing a total of 1 of 1 passes for 10 yds)

Mercilus, JJo, and Simon are active.
Blue will start in place of Miller who is officially inactive.

Bengals inactives:
WR A.J. Green
LB V. Burfict
G C. Boling
TE T. Kroft
TE T. Eifert

Official Texans inactives: Lamar Miller, Brandon Weeden, Brennan Scarlett, Denzel Rice, Oday Aboushi, Josh Walker and Ufomba Kamalu

I think Carr's tough enough to play through it. put a little dirt on it & go.
Don't know man. He needed assistance going to the hospital. I doubt he's going to be back anytime soon. If it were something minor you could walk it off and limp around. Not needing three guys to help you.

Although he has a lot of time to potentially prepare for the Houston Texans during the divisional round at Oakland. That's three weeks. But if Derek Carr broke his leg I don't think three weeks is enough time to heal.

It is official, Derek Carr broke his leg. Not going to return for any playoff game. Major loss for the Oakland Raiders... If he does he's risking the rest of his career. One hit in that area coming back too soon could be risky.

It comes in 3s.

Mariota - broken leg
Carr - broken leg
?? - ??

Color me worried.

Ok. The Texans have a real chance to wrap things up tonight. What a devastating day today. 3 broken legs to playoff hopefuls. Let's pray that there are no serious injuries in tonight's game.
Let's hope for a big win for our Texans tonight.

GO TEXANS! ! !

Wow how things are breaking right for us. Mariota goes down and out for the season, titans lose to the jags. Then Carr gets his leg broke. If we win and get the third seed we go through Oakland that would be ideal. Now all we need is for Savage to be a real NFL quarterback.

How can we get this far into the season, fighting for the playoffs and just now switching to a quarterback that's never even thrown a touchdown pass in the NFL. Osweiler sucks but this is a hugh gamble and everything is on the line including the head coaching job!
